It had that superb graphical style and premise that was intriguing... but for a great looking game, there was tough difficulty when it came to the puzzles 😇🕹️👌
CADAVER is absolutely as challenging on the Amiga as HEAD OVER HEELS on the Commodore 64. I had this game for my Amiga 500 back in the early 2010's. And it was so challenging, i never finished the whole game 😹. I have also noticed, that this music + sound effects 🎵🎶 composer also worked on GODS - which was one of my favorite games on the Amiga 500 😺👍🕹️.
I feel that I would have certainly enjoyed this game back in the day if I had the Amiga. I've always enjoyed games where you run through dungeons, fight monsters, solve puzzles, and collect treasure. And the main character is a dwarf? Even better. Dwarves are my favorite fantasy race... and what I usually choose if given the choice in an RPG character creator.
I had this game back when it first came out. It felt like the natural successor to Knight Lore on the Speccy. I wasn't and still am not any good at isometric games but they are a challenge I enjoy all the same.
Nice review! Personally I have always called this game "Cad da Ver" and not the dead body name. The box art name suggests this with its two capital letters and the wavy lines, that "d" is also standing out on its own. Only the Bitmap Bros know I guess. 😂
Its however you want to pronounce it I guess... only in modern games do they generally pronounce the game within the game haha... back in the 90s it was all guesswork 😇🕹️👌
I spent hours playing the demo of this from an Amiga Format coverdisk. It's one of those games I always wanted to like more than I did.
@@deanolium Perfect summary of my thoughts about the Game, too.
Very true 😇🕹️👌

I love the art. For some reason I seem to love the look of all the Amiga games.
Theres definitely a certain charm about the Amiga games, indeed 😇🕹️👌

This and God's now live on Evercade as part of the Bitmap Brothers Collection 2 cartridge, and they are the Amiga versions. 👍
Yeah Bitmap Brothers team were pure class! 🎅🕹👌
I like its isometric art style so much!
I think graphically, this game was awesome for 1990... Bitmap Brothers games always had style! 😇🕹️👌

I'm a big fan of Gimli from LOTR! What a great character 🎅🕹👌
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer Yeah! Gimli is awesome! I'm a big fan of dwarves! Probably one of the reasons why I like Deep Rock Galactic so much! LOL
I love the graphics in this game.
Always confused this game with Heimdall as a kid. Both very similar looking games.
What a goldie!! Loved it!
+1 like from us! Keep up the good work! 🙌🐺
This reminds me of The Immortal mixed with Landstalker (both on Genesis). I have a soft spot for isometric games
I have a soft spot for The Immortal! That's also on the channel... I was hooked on that game 😇🕹️👌

Had this on Amiga as a kid. Never got far..but enjoyed the attempts
Never heard of but I like the graphics. I’d play a modern procedural generated rougelike that looked like this any day.
I love a decent isometric roguelike game - it would work perfectly with this graphical style 😇🕹️👌
The enemy death sound haunts my dreams
I loved this one and played it a lot but never managed to finish it. It's hard and unforgiving with but great graphics and atmosphere.
I read about this one, but never had a copy of it. I think I would have liked it.
One would have assumed a game named Cadaver would be more violent and gory

Never played cadaver but just one look at it you can tell its a bitmap brothers game.
