Why would God allow a written history of His son to be so problematic? Why isn't there a straightforward, easy to understand, written record of Jesus, his life, and his teachings? Why do the gospels conflict or tell contradictory stories of the nativity and the crucifixion?

He argues Q is an oral source, that t is a mishnah or mishnah like, and that it was translated to Greek. He mentions that he sees evidence of these assertions but I wish he presented that evidence.
Mark has many places that read very rhetorical and are 'speech- like'. I've seen the evidence presented for those passages, as in Dr. James Tabor's views on Mark.
But I've heard this claim that Q was oral, and translated, and even that it went thru certain revisions, but I haven't actually heard what the evidence for these assertions are.

He is mentioned is the Talmud I believe.

A question for Dr. C: If "Q" is defined as everything in Luke & Matthew that doesn't appear in Mark, how can there be some "Q" material in Mark (see 10:53 in this video)? It would be very helpful if he could resolve this apparent contradiction.
Paul was interested in the sayings of Yeshua ??? He doesn't quote anything that Yeshua said , Paul's teachings are quite contrary to what Yeshua taught
I have observed a dearth of interesting content from the 'Big Three' following Dr. Price's public humiliation and subsequent universal platforming/Jacob apparently selling out. Thank you, Jacob, for bringing back an interesting guest and interesting content. And I don't think it's too late to separate yourself from the 'Cartel' and return to respectability...
I simply cannot understand Chilton's suggestion that traditions/beliefs/practices of Jesus' disciples passed through Paul and into the gospels. Paul claims that he learned nothing from these people, and in his own writings, the only thing he seems to know about Jesus is that he resurrected (presumably after dying first)...
The gospels are concerned with Jesus' mission and message. Paul is concerned with Jesus' death and resurrection.

This is like positing what Superman said.. There was no real Superman and there was no real Jesus.
He's a fictional character...And as you know mankind loves a good fairytale.
Everything that came after Yehoshua the teacher of what is called the Matthew gospel is of the false christ created after the gospel, after the good news preached in the gospel, that christ is false, a deception its name jesus and its cross never happened except in the man of sins lying epistles, the writings of Paul of tarsus and the rest of the ones who come in the name if jesus and not in the name of God alone as all true lost sheep will. We serve God alone not any christ!
I know God, I walk in covenant with God and I Love God. I fear God as well and that is the beginning of Love because until you fear disobeying God and causing God to look upon you in shame so you feel horrible then you can not love Him. I started this walk when I was 32, to look for God. I started to actually begin to find God when I was 39 and sealed myself to God as the gospel tells us to, those of us who listen to the gospel teacher and not the ones who came after him, know to take up the commandments of God and to seek out our roots back to Abraham and to Moses and Yehoshua and the prophets so we become firm in knowledge of what GOD ALONE asked of us. It took me several years of fighting sin and the devil by obeying God. I fought the sin out of me with God's help, by his instructions in the written word. It is a very narrow road and as the mattan/Matthew gospel says very few will find it. We have to fight Satan and the whole world that serves him in sin in order to get out and the one who will help is God alone because we can't trust anyone else. I am with God, God provides for myself and my family and yes there is absolutely evidence BUT not until you absolutely come clean, in thought, word and deed, the absolute opposite of all the lying religions. The gospel was sent down to free us from sin by sending us to our teacher and if you reject it then you are freed from God into sin perpetually and to death spiritually from God which as I can now see is absolutely hell on earth, your light you pretend to have is absolutely darkness caused by your unwillingness to even try to obey God. I speak to 99% of the population. If you can't put everyone first after God and stop yourself from all sin THEN YOUR NOT WORTHY AND YOU ARE ALREADY FINISHED BEFORE YOU EVEN STARTED.
So come out of all sun, take up the commandments and begin your battle, call to GOD ALONE, LEARN YOUR ROOTS, BE GOD'S PEOPLE. FIGHT SATAN WHO IS THE SINNERS INNER VOICE, THE CONSCIENCE THAT LEADS YOU TO HURT YOU, that's not you, it's Satan the deceiver. If you come to God and pass the trials cleansing yourself by obedience then GOD WILL BECOME YOUR CONSCIENCE AND YOU WILL LOVE GOD AND HATE SIN, SATAN WILL FLEE FROM YOU.
SO there it is.

Be wary of this world, it is the valley of death, you need God's light and God doesn't dwell with sin or sinners. Not until they begin the journey to stop sin.

Marcionism makes the most sense to me. Jesus came in direct contradiction to virtually every single OT law.
No man has EVER seen the Father but the Son. That includes Abraham, Moses, David, etc.

@3thingsfishing427 ah, you best read a true translation instead of the evil versions. God doesn't discipline or kill innocent people. If we obey God, we eventually should become completely moral and not harm anyone. That is what my God has taught me. I must have patience and mercy as my God has had for me while I was lost in sin. See Ezekiel chapter 18 for an example.
Do you have something to make you feel God hates you? Are you sinning and hate God because GOD says you can not do the things you do? The jesus is an idol made up by men to cause you to hate God. God wants you to absolutely stop yourself from even thinking about sin, which is the opposite of the fake jesus thing!!
My teacher Yehoshua in Matthew gospel teaches to go back and learn from Moses, to enter the covenant like Abraham. To become a found Isra'elite. Look here Matthew gospel chapter 5,7,18,19. Does this look like my teacher Yehoshua who came only in God's name is teaching against our God. Yehoshua is my brother and is opposite of the idol jesus, the fake thing that leads sinners to hell, laughing merrily.
You must see that versions of the Bible are not true translation.
You can follow the fake christ made up after the message to me, a lost sheep of Isra'el was left. I obey GOD alone and never would I accept any other, especially some mithras man god idol
Only sinners hate God, only satans people, the sinners love idols and graven images of dead men on crosses, instead of God
Go ahead and believe you murdered your god so you can sin right to death. G0 ahead and disobey the eternal commandments that the true gospel tells is will never pass away, until this world ends and all evil is gone, no sinners left.

@3thingsfishing427 the mattan or Matthew gospel as sinners call it is the last book of the Bible and all after it is to be burned. There is no truth after Matthew gospel chapter 24. It runs truth from chapter 4 to 24 and that's all there is. It sends us back to learn Torah not ahead to forget G0D and to have no rules whatsoever
