- Blinking Rules & Regulations:
Short range full-body instant cast teleportations have specific rules and boundaries which must be adhered to at all times. This book is a guideline for proper usage of this travel option, to ensure a safe and expedient teleportation.
Rule #1: Never Blink into space occupied by anyone else. Blink, as it has been taught, replaces the air and water from the caster's target position, to the caster's starting position. The spell's success and widespread use is based on its simple elegance: The real objective of the spell is to replace the caster's body with whatever is in front of them - the fact that the caster is moved to that area is the side-effect.
The spell is elegant enough to recognize and avoid people most of the time. Immense Kirin Tor resources are being spent to perfect an already nearly flawless spell, but be warned that deliberate blinking into others may result in one of three outcomes: The caster replaces the target, the target replaces the caster, or both occupy the same space, creating a sickly abomination the likes of which even The Scourge would exile from their ranks. If you would like to prevent one of these three tragedies, please be mindful of your blink target areas. Which brings us to...
Rule #2: Look where you're going! After a staggering number of incidences that were the product of people violating Rule #1, the Kirin Tor has moved this rule up from its previous position at #8 to here. We understand that accidents happen, but some accidents are not so easily remedied. Remember mages, look both ways before crossing the Astral Plane!
Rule #3: Don't blink to anywhere you can't see. This is a variation of Rule #2 that deserves special mention, due to the fact that this rule is the one most commonly broken on purpose. Like Rule #2, we have gotten increasing reports of mages meeting tragic ends with their blink. Some mages admitted to consciously trying to blink through walls, into dark areas, and even inside crates in a desperate attempt to hide from pursuers. We cannot stress enough how foolish this is.
Solid matter is connected to itself rigidly enough to, well, make it solid. Unlike air and water, which can be easily separated and swapped, the bonds of solids WILL translate onto the caster. The Kirin Tor feels obligated to list all documented Small Claims Disaster Cases pertaining to blinking inside solid objects. Memorize these claims, and avoid making the same mistakes yourselves:
10012-c: "Removal of bar stool from hip of Squibly Ratchetdibble via fire. Collateral burns minimal."
19798-g: "Removal of (3) mithril support rods from head of Jenus Killian via corrosive brew. Thanks to RAS for donation of mentioned brew. Side-effect: Permanent hair loss of affected area."
14761-aa: "Removal of Cynthia Wallerby from side of barn via Goblin Shredder. Collateral damage is, unfortunately, severe. However, Mrs. Wallerby can still enjoy a full life with one hand and foot."
16616-x: "Removal of Harland Wilson from statue of General Turalyon via magma, shipped from Ironforge. Collateral damage moderate. Mr. Wilson was unharmed, but nearby school children witnessed the General being melted to retrieve him, and were consequently scarred for life."
11773-c: "Removal of (6) Snapvine Watermelons from torso of Sinella Redblade. Collateral damage minimal. (4) melons salvaged and donated to local orphanage."

I remember levelling with a friend and asking him what he thought about all the music in the different zones and he replied "Oh I didn't play with the music enabled"

For raiding that would make sense. I did that, particularly when I was raid leader. Communication is key. But for levelling, that's just stupid. It's such a big part of the atmosphere of each zone. One of my fondest memories of WoW is entering the Howling Fjord for the first time and telling my brother on Skype "Shhh! Listen." And then just being in awe, silent for several minutes, admiring the landscape and the music and how well they fit together.
I say the same to Runescape players. The music enhances the experience tremendously.

i came back here to nearly shed a tear over the dalaran ambience song. man oh man.. good times.. ill miss you WoW. After legion it was pure downhill. Thanks for the memories.. i enjoyed classic for a bit but i can no longer. ill always remember though.. farewell

Pure essence of peaceful downtime right here. I've spent so much of my WoW time (between my run w/ Wrath and my run w/ Legion) hanging out in Dalaran, it's absolutely one of my digital homes.
Finding a book hidden around the city and lounging in that study area by the lower portals to read it, there's nothing like it.
And getting a pet out of it to boot!
why cant dalaran be a main city for every expansion ;/

3 years ago... was so different for me .. playing WoW during legion , this song hits me in the feels so deep .. I was just a senior fresh out of high school , so much has happened since . I love you wow and will have my character engraved in my tomsbstone

I absolutely love Legion's Dalaran music. It feels so much more beautiful, and ambient. The Wrath music is pretty awesome too heh, not saying it's bad.

Dalaran is always cozy and I always park my characters here.
Oh the time spent here showing off the latest mounts, haha. Good times. Love the memories and the music was a big part of those memories.

I miss this something fierce. Moved in with my dad after a tropical storm flooded my house. Right around Christmas my stepmom made these baked crackers with italian seasoning on them and id go into the kitchen to snack on a million of them and wash it down with a Pepsi while I did heroic + dungeons. And going back to othr expacs to get mounts. There are times in this song I can hear the muffled sound of my dad's voice, because I always played with headphones and I grew accustomed to people's voices so I could respond to them if I thought they were talking to me. My dad died on Thanksgiving 2019 and I miss being in dalaran because it reminded me of when I was chilling at his place and I can fool myself into hearing his voice sometimes.
Dalaran will always be my favorite city.
Oh god, the jaina parts are euphoric.

I grinded so hard to get the ratstallion mount in those sewers. Took me forever because I suck at pvp. Good times.

i will never forget this time.
coming home from work at a bar at 4 in the morning, head ringing from the noise and lights,
loading up wow and being here so i could go farm reputation mounts, AP, checking every world quest for a gear upgrade, queing for battlegrounds, seeing if the PVP WQ's were up for the "free for all" mount,
and just enjoying the solace, the calm, the bliss that this place in azeroth brought my tired mind :)
i miss it sooo fucking much :(

God dammit! I miss legion!! , it was the best expansion to come after WOTLK that literally redeemed wow after many years...then we got hit by BfA 😥
I actually started off in July 2017. So I never got to experience anything before then. I loved playing this game specially exploring and doing world quests. The music is absolutely beautiful. I loved the story and characters. The artifacts were so cool. Haven’t played since a few weeks after bfa came out when I saw they ruined world quests. Not planning on coming back till next xpac. I’ll try classic but I doubt I’ll like it.

@@Breakability I did on day 1 and got to level 16 in a few days on my warlock. I quit because I was addicted too much and needed to get back with my friends lol. It was one of the best days of my entire life. I wish I could go back

I stopped playing WoW before the start of Cataclysm. While I think this version is also very nice (but bit on the somber side) perhaps due to the huge changes that happened to the world, I have a slight preference for the original version. I could be bias but y'all be the judge. ^_^

SL launch content drought was the nail in the coffin for a lot of players, including me... I've been playing since mid-BC and although I always came back from my WoW pauses, I never once wanted to go back since I stopped playing a year ago. I feel like they've made a lot of people just not about the game anymore.
