Man I can't wait for Sacrafice to come out. Just wrapped up up my yearly Salt playthrough and finally got all the achievements. I just love Salt, it's so good!
So excited for Salt and Sacrifice! Salt and Sanctuary is one of my favorite Souls-like games. The artstyle has improved but still has that distinct feel. Really happy that all the sound effects from the first game are still here. Oh and the special effects look phenomenal especially the death animation at 4:40 is seriously amazing! The gameplay has been expanded greatly with new mechanics, and the UI is so clean now! Looking forward to playing this solo and with my friends!
Absolutely, this looks awesome O__O. Back in the year Salt & Sancytuary came out, i didn't even know the game existed until a friend told me. Like many he said "there is a souls like sidescroller and it's stunning!", but i didn't buy it at first. I like Dark Souls but wasn't sure about a sidescroller in that form and so the months passed. Every year on christmas i visit my family for a week and so we celebrated the 24th and on that night we were going to sleep at around 0:10 am. Well at least the other family members did but i didnt want to sleep yet. So out of boredom i was searching through the PS4 store with no particular goal in mind and there it was, the game my friend told me about months ago and i bought it. I absolutely liked the dark athmosphere and the feeling it gave me, beeing at a lonely place on christmas even though it was a fun night with my family ^^^. I was going to bed at around 4 am i believe. Also it turned out to be one of the best games i own for ps4. Call me strange but this resulted in me only beeing in the mood to play Salt & Sanctuary on christmas. So when Salt & Sacrifice comes out in 2022 eventually, i will play it only in the christmas week that year. :D
This is the game that i remember ! But why removing the blood and the sound of broken bones ? I played lots of soulslike but salt is absolutely my favorite , for weapons bosses places and armors . Keep up the hard work devs , can't wait to play such a beautiful that i remember
I think that the reason for the violence to be reduced at some point in this one is because, iirc, the enemies are all magicians and summons so maybe they don't bleed that much or at all because they're made of mana

Funny. I was just playing through Salt and Sanctuary and thought "I wonder if there is ever going to be a follow-up" and here we are. The animations look incredible, smooth, and natural.
I am very happy to see this. Salt and Sanctuary is a very good game that with a little more budget would have been one of the best metroidvanias I have ever played. I hope this game maintains the excellent map design that Salt and Sanctuary had, and the diversity of classes and builds. Take your time to finish it to the best of your ability. The followers of the project will be there when it comes out.
Heck yeah, looks awesome! There's literally only one thing bothering me and that is the walljumping. It just looks really stiff and weird. Besides that - really looking forward to getting the pc version down the line!~ Can't wait to do some co-op playthroughs with the buddies.
Graphics look a bit more cartoony and downgraded. Kind of disappointing actually. This looks more like a mobile game. Check out Vigil, The Darkest Night. It looks so much better than this.
Having an extra gory option to enable would be incredible. the gore seems to have been toned down immensely,, but i still want blood splats to paint the walls. I want to make trails of red. I want blood to explode from the innards of the dead,, even more so than salty 1... Very much looking forward to s&s2 tho lol
I'm hyped as hell dude. I really hope they keep something like the unspeakable deep in this game. Now to ponder whether I should go as a wisdom halberd dude or a straight up greatsword/greathammer tanky boy
I pray the co-op is more than just the souls-style of "Beat boss, partner leaves", because the first game had good co-op at the cost of being local only, which I dodged using Steam Remote Play anyways.
So new key features include: - Sheathed weapons with a merry little jog. - A grappling hook and the curved gleaming spikes to be used as grapple points as also seen in Earthworm Jim. - Goth Spock, an equally merry little helper. - And the ever enduring game archeotype that just won't die, collecting crafting ingredients with a loading bar. Looks fun.
I am as excited to see the sequel to Salt and Sanctuary to be released as Elden Ring... I will buy Salt and Sacrifice day one! No doubt about that! S&S is the best indie game ever. Oh, and please add more gore in Sacrifice please :D
I already hate the fact that you constantly have to gather mats to craft stuff. Wish this sequel followed the mechanics of the first game/souls games more. Also the violence seems toned down by ALOT. And something feels weird about the new art style... Anyway, no doubt this game will still be better than 90% of the games of the same genre but you guys nailed almost everything perfectly with the first game yet it feels like alot has changed in the sequel.

Things I've picked up on from this gameplay: Is that a central hub area you begin in where you warp to selerate 'zones' to complete your missions. More akin to Demons Souls and its Nexus rather than an interconnected world like in the previous game? Movement appears faster and more fluid. The sound effect of the grappling hook - a little bit annoying to be honest. The mage boss fight - so that was the boss you kept fighting throughout the entire area and not just individual large enemies? When you got to the 'boss arena' at the end it didn't have a full health bar - had yourself not been fighting it along the way, and say ran past it each time - would that mean in the boss arena itself it would have a full health bar? Are all the main bosses of an area like this as the bosses health bars appear to slowly fill rather than just being full from the get go. I like the idea that maybe you can deplete a boss' health by doing tasks/fighting enemies/wounding a boss before you get to the final confrontation with them. Doesn't appear to be any sanctuaries per say. Are those towers you activate along the way checkpoint/spawn points if you die?
I look forward to the second part of a wonderful game, from a studio with two people and a cat) What you are doing is amazing! Yes, it's inspired by Dark Souls, but without the annoying Asian style. Salt and Sanctuary, a game that you want to play again and again! 7 NG+! I hope it will be even better in Salt and Sacrifice!

Looks cool, but where is the blood?? I loved how dark and gritty the last one was but this looks like it has a much lighter tone plus little to no blood. Very disappointed in that sense.
I love me some Salt and Sanctuary sequel but this is looking more like DLC with that many reused assets. I do love the new stuff that I'm seeing but with the success made from the first game they could invest a little more on a few areas.
It's a sequel to Salt and Sanctuary, I think people would want it to look similar to the first one, otherwise you might not know it was a sequel before you see the title.

I don't love the crafting mechanics in any game, so a bit disappointed in that. I also am hoping that the gore is coming and this is just an early demo. I've been playing S&S as two different builds this Halloween. Flourishes like screen shake on attack and background blood really add to the style and feel.

Seeing how Elden Ring did just that and pulled off an amazing game I stand here corrected: nothing wrong with reusing animations and sounds.
