  • Has Efren Reyes Lost His Magic? Efren Bata Reyes Now
In 2017, Efren "Bata" Reyes looked at our hearts when he admitted that he was no longer the great "Mago" known to the billiard world. They think I'm still good at playing. I already have weaknesses in other people. Lots of great players today. They made food for me. he said in the ABS-CBN report.
Nothing is more heartbreaking than your hero uttering these words of resignation as a sign of bitterness for a sport he has dominated for decades. But, true to his character, he offers a reassuring smile - another weapon - to dispel our bitterness about his confession. It was as if he was saying, "That's life."
Reyes earned his nickname "The Magician" because of the billiard tricks he seemed unlikely to play with his opponents. Legend has it that he was always eight steps ahead of his opponents. He studied swimming pools and predicted shots. But now, he was facing his toughest opponent, back then.
"In this sport, I fought a lot. But when I can no longer play, like now if my hand hurts, and my eyesight is difficult, we don't know if I will retire after that or maybe next year. Or I can still play next year, or next year. I'm getting old. "Aniya.
Reyes easily competes with the world's top athletes, with many sports analysts considering him the greatest pool player of all time. Many might think that, given Reyes' 70 international titles, including four World Eight Ball Championship titles, he's been there with everyone else of all time. greats like Manny Pacquiao, Tiger Woods, and Michael Phelps. In fact, pool winners are paid less than the top athletes of the more popular sports.
In 2017, Reyes lamented the increased cost of participating in a contest, which typically costs $ 5,000 in airfare and accommodation. The prize for third place was only $ 5,000 at the time, meaning you would fail if you didn't have a sponsor. At the height of billiards popularity, the top prize in the tournament was usually $ 100,000. These days, that is mostly down to $ 30,000. In 2011, he pocketed a $ 8,000 winning purse when he won the U.S. Open One Pocket Championship.

No one stays at the top forever. Just like that old tough ass lion that kicked everyone's ass and took no prisoners you Sir was that tough old lion. And you left us with so many jaw dropping shots to remember you by. Thanks Efren Reyes for all of the great memories. And to some of us you'll always be the standard which all great pool players will be judged by.

He hasn't lost his "Magic". He's just gotten burnt out, the new and up and coming players to him is just another dance. He's been there, he's conquered every challenge, he's got the bumper sticker, the t-shirt, and the snow globe. There's really nothing else he can do. He hasn't lost the "Magic", he's just lost the passion. However, if someone comes up who is sensational and is shooting on a level that is out of this world, then Efren might come back to seriously play. When he does, then we'll get to see all of that knowledge, technical skill, and unique insight execute into beautiful works of Art. In order for that to happen, there needs to be a "cinder" to reignite the flame.

ALL superstars eventually loose their edge, for one reason or another. For the most part it’s due to the aging process. Some of the very elite last longer at the apex of their sport than others but in the end there are NO exceptions. As they say, Mother Nature remains unbeaten and untied. And until someone else comes along to show me different, Efren Reyes will remain the best that has ever played the game. Most people that play or participate in this sport for a living will tell you the same thing.

First off, find another narrator. Whoever was talking mispronounced Bata, meaning the first time he heard of Efren was on the script he was handed. He probably knows nothing about pool. Secondly, "lost his magic"? If Michael Jordan lives to be a hundred and can't even dribble does that mean he lost his magic? If Mayweather loses a fight when he's 60, does that mean he lost his magic too? People will always age, their abilities will degrade, but their Legend comes from their greatest feats not from their weakest.
