The pain you can experience is 10 out of 10 after getting stung by one of those jellyfish. For comparison , giving birth to a child is only 5 on the list. Every time when you enter the water you gamble with your life!
There are different types of pain or maybe it could different sensations of pain. From my own experience there's broken bones which have a deep throbbing ache. The hammer your fingers or stub your toe which gives a burst of words and gradually subsides. The achy muscle pain from overuse. Then the 2 worst: 1.The sinus surgery to fix broken septum in your sinuses. The surgeon uses a chisel and hammer to break off deformed bone pieces. You will feel like your sensitive sinus bones were hammered on. Only a higher dose of hydrocodone can tamp down the pain. I will NEVER have sinus surgery unless its necessary. Plastic surgery for looks....you will regret it I guarantee. 2.Burning & stinging from the spinal cord & branches coming out thru the vertebrae. At least an 8 to bordering on 9. Usually caused by arthritis and the roughness it makes on bone joints. Those big nerves hate to be irritated and they send their anger all the way down to the toes. I'll take several broken arms or legs any day over this misery. Arthritis doesn't go away so the burning/stinging goes on 24/7. Only surgery to remove the roughness or a nerve cutting procedure will help. Problem is the actual problem site doesn't show up on MRI very well. Only by finding a super skilled surgeon who is familiar with proper diagnosis and surgical technique will you find relief.
