But he was also a world record transfer fee for a GK! It could be argued that VVD had slightly higher peaks than Salah and even then I'd say Salah 2017 -2018 would beat any of Virg's best seasons, but the consistency each season from Salah is what I believe makes him number 1, even when the rest of the team were not at the races and VVD wasn't looking his best post injury, He was carrying hard with goals and Assists.
I also believe Allison overall has been more consistent than VVD, and it would be hard to argue against his peaks as he is also considered by many as the best in his position as Virg had been at many points.
There is no doubt they are the 3 guys that should be in this discussion, with many others a little behind.
Salah - Consistency, Goals and Assists.
    2) This is really a toss up both are or have been regarded as the best in their position for a reason, Allison I feel has been more consistent but Virg was the biggest reason Liverpool could play their counter attacking football.
    1) Salah.
    2) VVD.
    3) Allison.

No its not. Salah has been amazing going forward, not just scoring but assisting. For a long time, Liverpool have been struggling for a good goalie. Jursey Dudek was arguably our last finest, but we needed Alison to strengthen the back line, which was missing for so many years. As for VVD, he has that control of the defence, and knows how to instigate the correct attack on the opposition. That has been missed for so many years, since Sami Hyypia and Stephan Henchoz in the early 2000s. We've always had amazing attackers, but it was our defence that let us down.

    Minamino was a great signing.
He was bought for £7m as a squad player and scored us important goals to win us two trophies. Then sold for a profit.

No one will see this, and comments on this sort of thing are always contentious, but I have had these sorts of discussions with fellow life long fans so many times and for me, our success in the current era had two turning points. The truth is, in my lifetime, from Rush onwards we have always had star goal scorers as good as ballers like Salah, and especially Mane are/were, it's not new. The first sea change was Brendan Rogers getting the ball on the ground again, playing through the mid with shorter passes, control and then pressing. Then later, the players that levelled us up and allowed the tightness and organization came in at the back, Allison and Van Dijk - that is where we got a new level of quality we hadn't seen for a while, that the rest built out of.

The colour is pretty good how many times over the years where players or skins have blended into the background. So I think the red and blue combats that. I agree though this childish game show side of things is a little off putting I think the finals nailed this style of game.

In order from - Left ---> Right & Top ---> Bottom. Do you agree?
    1. World Class - Van Dijk, Salah, Alisson, Mane
    2. Top Tier - Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Matip, Jota, Mcallister, Diaz, Konate
    3. Good - Thiago, Gakpo, Nunez, Szobozlai, Elliott, Endo
    4. Average - Minamino, Shaqiri, Ox, Tsimikas, Gravenberch
    5. Bad - Naby Keita, L.Karius
Thiago - injured too much, great passer but not good defensively, found it difficult to tackle & win ball back
Diaz - Amazing player, needs way more goals - needs to step up to truly replace mane yet
Gakpo - Was great till around Jan-Feb, had 2 bad months, but back to best in May - moved around too much in midfield & striker - best position is left wing, looks great there and pretty good finisher
Naby - 50mil spent, average player with 1 or 2 moments, injured too much, and even when played was not 50-60mil player was around 25mil player
Ox - great for 1 season, 2 season ending injuries, was not same when back
Minamino - instrumental in winning 2 cups
Wijnaldum - was impossible to get ball off, highly press resistant, consistent for 4-5yrs, instrumental in title winning campaigns, scored good goals, offered good protection for defence & showed his angry best in that insane barcelona 4-0 game with 2 goals & amazing celebration

These aren't Klopp's signings. And he certainly didn't negotiate any fees. It's been wildly reported that Klopp didn't even want the likes of Salah, instead he pushed hard for Julian Brandt. These are Michael Edward's signings. A lot of revisionist history here.

Alisson is the greatest player and Klopp’s greatest signing during Klopp's era. Why? First, he is always consistent, not like Van Dijk. Also, it’s only after Liverpool bought him that they started winning things. Even when Van Dijk was bought, Liverpool lost 3-1 in the final against Madrid. So, I don’t think Van Dijk should be considered the greatest signing.
