That is what happened to my worms . They froze. However, this year I will put dry leaves and hay on top of them. About 30 inches worth and cover them up with boxes and old blankets. I hope that works. Anybody has better ideas?
I bought special blankets for my worms off ebay, promised that these little mini-blankets would keep my worms from getting cold. (joking!) I'm gonna have to try that russian tea you mentioned, only because i'm so interested in the flavor.
@jamisonbrooks The worms will freez but the eggs will go into a state of hibernation and should come back as temps, food and water return.
If you let it get too far below 32•f the worms will freeze to death
