@@K_LCollectibles_Games Nolan, Villeneuve and Cameron are probably the three great directors of current hollywood. And if Hollywood keeps the direction they are going they might be the last great directors we will be having for quite a while

Villeneuve is the director Nolan WISHES he was. He can actually make a masterful movie while keeping a story INTERESTING and flowing. Nolan’s are tedious and often completely convoluted.

This gives me so much joy. My introduction to the ReelBlend podcast was the first Zimmer interview as I was voraciously consuming Dune Part One content immediately after seeing that movie for the first time. Zimmer is such a generous interviewee and very passionate, I wish to hear/watch more ReelBlend podcasts interviews with composers, artists, cinematographers that make the actors and movie better.

Wished the interview with Zimmer focused more on Dune themes. The 'Arrival' theme (Dune 2) is brilliant and that scene of Paul heading to the war counsel gives goosebumps everytime. How the music themes around Paul gets darker and darker once the water of life is consumed, and the increased tension in the love theme, all brilliant.

He actually wrote the first 3. He wrote all the themes for the first one, but handed it off to Klaus Badelt because he was working on a different project. Also, notice the not all the music in Curse of the Black Pearl is on the album. That is the stuff he would have been accredited for.

Wow I can't believe that Hans Zimmer was behind The Creator soundtrack! I know the name and that he's behind many other of my favorite movie soundtracks I didn't realize. I never thought about The Lion King's soundtrack and am happy to learn that he scored it. I will have to go with Dune Part Two's soundtrack. I recently just listened to Part One and Two and was so blown away from listening to it my vehicle! I can also say that I'm so glad that I saw a IMAX screening that I believe was the first time that I ever saw a IMAX screening, but when I learned the film was shot entirely with IMAX I told myself that, "okay, this is the movie to see in IMAX" and that was an amazing experience and makes me now want to see most of the movies I go to see in IMAX!

lovely interview. Totally agree "you have to see it on the big screen otherwise you're denying yourself an experience... some footage". There's nothing like seeing it on IMAX. Aww his end quote saying your channel is "protecting what makes us human, what makes us culturally relevant, part of 20th century storytelling that needs to carry on". He's as humble as Denis Villeneuve re his stature and contribution

Amazing to hear you talk with Zimmer. His work is mesmerizing. Thank you.
Regarding the not showing the clips of the movies during the Oscars I feel it's a better choice for a couple of reasons:
    1. I feel that to be captured by someone's acting you need to watch it in full context. If you select clips to show the audience, most likely they will be of "most" acting (screaming, fighting, crying), which I think can be a disservice to the work of the actress/actor.
    2. I think of the Oscars as a marketing strategy for movies that otherwise the general public will not have in mind. Not everyone gets a chance to watch every nominated movie before the oscars ceremony. Showing the clips can reduce the surprise you get when you do watch those movies.
