"Leave me to do my dark bidding on the internet!" "What are you bidding on?" "I am bidding on a table." One of the best mockumentaries ever. Top five, at least. Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) is another underrated masterpiece. Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Ethel Robinson. Location Location Fact: The hill where the vampires have a run-in with the werewolves is the same hill filmed in The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001), where the hobbits are running from the Black Rider and hiding under the roots of a tree. 125-Hour Edit Fact: About 125 hours of footage was shot, most of which was improvisation from the cast. The process of editing that down to a 90-minute movie took almost a year. The directors have stated that they are considering making all the footage available on-line, so that fans can edit their own version. Vampire Homages Fact: Each of the main characters are similar to a vampire from a famous vampire movie. Petyr (Ben Franksham) is analogous to Count Orlok from Nosferatu (1922), Deacon (Jonny Brugh) reflects David from The Lost Boys (1987), Vladislav (Jermaine Clement) is comparable to Gary Oldman's Dracula (1992), Nick (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) is reminiscent of Edward from Twilight (2008), and Viago (Taika Waititi) is like Louis from Interview With The Vampire (1994).
There's another Taika Waititi show called Wellington Paranormal you might like - it's full of dry Kiwi humour and weird creatures, and the two main characters appear in What We Do as the police officers
Your viewers have awesome taste! WWDITS is my favorite movie and my favorite shows are Always Sunny and the WWDITS tv show equally. I even named my cat Viago and my dog Laszlo(Matt Berry's character in the tv show). The cool thing about both the movie and show is that they make SO many references to other vampire-related media. Viago is based on the vampires in Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles series (most famously "Interview with the Vampire"), Deacon is based on the 80's movie "The Lost Boys", Vladislav is based on Vlad the Impaler and Dracula from the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" movie, and Petyr is based on Nosferatu. That's why they all have such different ways of dressing, acting, sleeping, etc.
I'm excited for you guys to watch the show. If you're sad about catching up with It's Always Sunny, this is a good choice. Every character is great. It has that in common with Sunny.
I LOVE Norma Tanega. That song is from an album called "Walkin' my Cat Named Dog." She's a snarky muthafrogger. "You're dead and outta' this world." Love it. Also hats off to a comedian from New Zealand for using a song by a fillipino-american from California! At least Taika Waititi knows we're not all butthats. As long as he knows it I'm satisfied. We might be an imperialist evil empire, but most of us are just regular people like Norma Tanega. Snarky muthafroggers. No more and no less.
Anyone else watch this after Thor: Ragnarok when Korg played by Taiki Waiti talked about a wooden fork weapon. Which would only be useful fighting against three vampires huddled together
another fun vampire movie is Dracula Dead and Lovin It, a Dracula parody! it got mixed reception when it came out and some people find it funny and some people don't so it could go either way if you watched it but i loved it growing up
odd she has no humor really at all! n i see ya never seen the 2 best vampire films EVER MADE!!! the lost boys!!! (david tells michael how are the worms you're eating worms....david messed w his mind as he was giving him wine but girl says it's blood michael thinks they messing w him drinks....)), near dark great vampire film!!! a 3rd is fright night!! these are the 3 greats cult flicks on 80's!!..........
Our Flag Means Death both has Taika and Rhys, and is an absolutely amazing show. Definitely worth adding to the list!
Ohh, definitely on the list!
definitely fun show. What We Do in the Shadows the tv show is fantastic. Matt Berry is a gift from the gods.
@@indade My wife gets sick pretty quickly of the lines I over-quote... She STILL laughs when I shout "BAT!" before leaving the room
@@TheDylls "i really don't think it's about his birthday, if it is...what a bitch."
Matt Berry is always... something else 😅
My wife STILL laughs when I shout "baaAAATTTT!!" before I leave a room 😂😂❤

Oh my Geez! A dozen decent fan edited releases would be something I'd watch!
They could do it like Stephen King and his Dollar Babies!

Oh I didn’t know you guys were doing the movie first! Awesome
A lot of people recommended we watch it first and I'm glad we did, loved it! :)
The two police officers got their own spinoff show called Wellington Paranormal set in New Zealand
Damm...I knew I seen it in other show...wow...😮

Funniest movie and series ever
Peter seems nice.
What are you going to do; tell the vampires not to kill?
My guess is that the chip had some sort of garlic seasoning on it🧄
