I had an amazing interaction through the nemesis system right after I unlocked dominating Uruks. I was running through a fortress in the open world, outside of any missions and saw a bunch of Uruk standing around some grog barrels which I promptly exploded with some elf shot. All of a sudden, this Olog-hai captain comes storming out in an ambush and yells "MY GROG!" His title was "the Brewmaster" and I made him my bodyguard. Now every time he saves me in last chance finishers, he smashes the other guy's head in with a mace and turns to me to say "You look like you could use a drink boss!" 10/10 would get saved by a drunken, grog-brewing war troll again
one cool thing that i encountered is that i shamed an orc twice so that i could bring it down to my level because i wanted to turn it, it was an legendary orc, so it got a title like THE SHAMED so when i turned it to my side the title changed to THE UNASHAMED and every time he goes to battle he tells that he was shamed twice by the bright lord and now that he joined him he is not shamed of it any more rather he is proud of it....its really cool to see how u can change the whole character of an orc on how you deal with him.
I was going for Trophies to 1)Help promote a grunt all the way to Overlord and 2)Recruit an Orc that had killed me three times. I let some random idiot kill me, watched him make Captain, let him do it again and once more for good measure. Afterward I had to shame him to bring down his level and ... he turned into a maniac, killed his way to the top and was level 65. One Trophy down. One to go ... maybe. Obviously I can't recruit a level 65 orc because I was in the mid 40s at the time (it wasn't until later I discovered my level caps at 60 - so I was screwed regardless) so I would have to shame him repeatedly ... except he kept slaughtering me over and over and he was one of the jackasses that give No Chance! I decided, screw it, I'll come back to him later and I finally killed him thanks to a last minute save by my bodyguard. Killed, not Recruited. No second Trophy for me. After deciding screw that guy, I'm glad he's dead, I'll just try again (early) on a second playthrough for the Trophy and I continued my game. Then Zog (the bastard) brought his level 65, Maniac, nigh unkillable ass back from the dead for his stupid ritual in the arena! Again I was slaughtered mercilessly ... multiple times and again my bodyguard pulled my fat out of the fire (eventually) just to take pity on me. How I got through that without twisting my controller into unrecognizable bits I will never know.
got the same orc too. that sht is legendary and is very strong so I have to shame him twice. recruited him and hired him as bodyguard and we slaughtered literally all shit. summoned him one day and bro betrayed me, he told me that I am just using him for brutality and sports and he is more than that, his name changed to THE SHAMED again. tried to recruit him again but the iron will does not get away.
My favorite experience was getting my Fortress overrun, because nearly all my war chiefs betrayed me, only to storm it immediately after without any captains as backup (cause I don't trust them anymore) which resulted in one of the greatest battles I have ever played. I had to pause the combat sometimes to switch out my skills, but it's in my top 20 moments in games I've played. The sheer intensity in the game, as well as the combat system feels absolutely phenomenal.
It breaks my heart when my war chief orc betrayed me so I tried to dominate him again but he got a strong will and resisted me so i gotta put him down, damn it hurts.
I’m playing in 2020 through the corona outbreak ....love this game. Wow over 400 likes!! Thank you to everyone who enjoyed the game and stayed healthy.
As someone who is a casual LOTR fan and has not played either of the games in this series, would you recommend playing this without having played Shadow of Mordor first? Or is it important to play Shadow of Mordor in order to fully enjoy and understand Shadow of War?
yeah i got this acher that ride a cargo, he didn't have one at first. But since he got promoted get got one but i try to make him become a spy..... GUESS WHAT...... he was scared of a caragor and got 1 shoted by one.
I recommend you buy it. I’ve enjoyed it so far, it’s basically an improved shadow of Mordor with a few more enemyies, better locations, skills, combat and movement. Stories also pretty good in my opinion. If you enjoyed shadow of Mordor I HIGHLY recommend getting this. Also, you can go sonic if you press L3 :D
Dingwall Beats Official I still haven't played S.O.M ! So the question is: In general reasons is it okay if I play S.O.W without playing the S.O.M first ? (4 eg. Story, characters ..etc) or the S.O.W it's like the continuing of S.O.M ?
„It’s basically an improved shadow of mordor with few more enem(y?)ies, better locations, skills, combat and movement“ doesn’t mean selling it for a price of a FULL NEW GAME
I had an orc once who became my body guard, a Olog-hai chap who was a bit shy for orc culture and found himself on the victim end of many a bullied scenario. The second or third time I saw him, he became distracted and was bitten by a spider. He ran away soon after, and it was a couple of weeks before I saw him again. And then, one day as I was fighting my way through green flesh and tissue, I hear someone singing a goofy song from my childhood. A large shadow crosses the ground beneath me, one exceeding the height and accessibility of my lackluster double jump. Sure enough, dressed in a red and blue skin suit far too tight for his body, I saw the shy Olog-hai of previous mentioning, staring straight at me, singing "Spider Orc, Spider Orc, Radioactive Spider Orc..." I was smitten, I deleted my Orc tender and we have been together ever since. Great game.
They recently got rid of the loot boxes and even when they were still in the game it was completely unnecessary to have to buy them as you could get just as good or better loot through killing uruks.
I ran into this enemy who spoke so intelligently and then I shamed him and he turned into a complete murderous savage that didn't even speak and instead made random snarls and sounds. I've never had such interesting enemy encounters. I love this game.
Onestrandedperson When I first started I found this big guy with a flamethrower on his back but after an hour he betrayed me. Long story short I eventually got him back but now he's pretty much insane.
The Day I was saved....... I thought it was another routine assassination.... I silently killed the camp captains soldiers and drew him out..... It was a hard fight. After few little seconds my health went down I was surrounded by Uruks the captain hit me with a smoke bomb and disappeared. Then fight me straight from behind.... " No chance " the screen said as I violently cursed so loud that my grandmother heard. He was about to strike until FROM OUTTA NOWHERE FORGOTH THE SAVIOR grabs his spear then slashes him to death with his banjo horn.... " Today is not your day Ranger " he said as he slowly walked away and all the Uruks ran. My screen tab popped up and said mission completed. ( This happened today I'm sooooo happy this Captain was crazy strong and I didn't know if the gold edition had Forgoth or with it or it was separately purchased ugh it was the best thing ever I swear to god ).
Same here, two idiots ambushed me at once, so I had to fight six captains at once. So sad I lost. So sad..... I don't want the fort.... Take your fort.... I don't need the fort... Bruz was there, and he looked creepy. His face was covered and he looked like shit
I have the game, u can pay for loot boxes Without paying real World money you can get gold by doing the daily challenges that gives you gold and silver and any other money for the game by playing the daily challenges or doing missions that’s what I’ve done and still are doing.I have not once spent realworld money yet unless I want the expansion Pack
Shermiff -Jace Herondale Yes, it is, though be aware that there will be a lot of grinding especially in the endgame section/Act IV. Still, it's extremely fun and addicting. Story is meh, however. The game is all about the Nemesis system.
Some stories are just amazing. I had 2 captains in Mina’s ithil that never died. 1 was named hoshgrish the machine and the other I can’t remember. Every time hoshgrish came back he came back with more and more metal and stitches where I’ve dismembered him. He had a metal arm, metal leg and his head was completely plated in metal. He was always eager to die so he could have more upgrades. The other guy became a fire fanatic and followed me from Mina’s ithil to cirith ungol. He worshipped fire and was covered in scorch marks
I have played through this game multiple times, on multiple systems, and played over 500 hours total. Yesterday, I played for 5 hours, and saw probably over 100 things i had never seen before. There is just so much stuff in this game.
You have a great way of not ruining the entire game for people by not saying every little thing that's wrong with it and by just being realistic with your opinions, pointing out the things that people will love as well as some things that people will not like so much. New fan of this channel, keep doing what you're doing!
@@vexx5955 They removed the microtransactions years ago because of peoples negative reactions to them. Even then, the microtransactions werent that pay to win and no one really bothered with them because your able to easily get powerful gear by just playing the game. Also, that comment was from 10 months ago : /
@@vexx5955 yes, but they're gone now, arent they? 🤔 Like I said before, they werent even needed to get powerful gear. I saw your other comment talking about how you got bored in 2 hours, and thats fine, but thats your opinion. Other people have enjoyed this game for countless hours, so if its not your type of game then thats completely alright, just dont attack other people for enjoying it. 👍
As a huge Lord of the rings fan and also someone who grew up playing Assassins Creed I found the game to be a beautiful hybrid of the two and possibly one of my favorite games, only downside I can come up with is somewhat of a repetitive nature, yet I have only just taken over my second fortress
Gotta give credit to Mordor and War for one major thing. They don't do the Assassin's Creed thing, of having chests and stuff just scattered all over the place. I like loot, I like collectibles, but that also means I'm a bit obsessive when collecting 'em. I almost never 100% a game, but if I see collectibles or chests near me, I'll go collect them. Which usually leads into a half hour or more of just running around because I keep finding more stuff. It seems that both of these games were nice enough to not do that. Sure there's collectibles, but not to the same extent as Assassin's Creed, and many other games. There's not so many things that the map is just littered in stuff. You want to get 'em? Ok, go get em, it'll take a couple minutes at most to get the stuff near you. Where as AC, you'll be there for 2 hours opening chests, collectible beer bottles, finding music boxes, ripping pictures off a wall, finding tiny statues, and whatever other tedious thing they throw in.
Darwinism is kind of like survival of the fittest, but is also used to imply a kind of stupidity that is self defeating AKA The darwin awards. Only the weak and especially stupid buy into loot boxes. Furthermore, those who seek to sling this into literally every game they have will end up walking themselves off a metaphorical cliff. It's bad on all angles. IE Economic darwanism.
I put tons of hours into Shadow of Mordor during 2020. I still haven't fully completed it yet, but it's basically done. I found it fun and challenging, maybe more than any other game I have played. Highly recommend it. I'm somewhere around 15 hours in to Shadow of War and I'm liking it. I can't say I like all of the changes, but for the most part they manage to elevate the enjoyment factor, and keep me wanting more. FIVE OUTTA FIVE!
For me the coolest moment was finding a warchief then dominating his bodyguards to backstab him. I love the fact that you can make more than one bodyguard backstab his warchief. It's a little hard but it's actually possible to make EVERY ONE of his bodyguards backstab him.😂 Also this warchief whose name was something the bard and he used a literal freaking LUTE AS HIS WEAPON. Then his little encounter cut scene was him playing a song with his weapon which was hilarious.
I really like how both Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War has that feature where you can raise your own band of rebel orcs against the loyalists. Its like the Mordorian Revolution basically. (The Orc Resistance in other words)
Shadow of War on the Xbox One X with HDR support, being native 4K and compatibility with Dolby Atmos makes this a definite Gold Edition for me! The PS4 Pro version and PC version are stunning as well! Plus.... I'm just a huge Lord of the Rings fan and I very much enjoyed: Shadow of Mordor, The Third Age, LOTR Conquest, War in the North, Battle For Middle Earth 1 & 2 (Rise of the Witch King), the Two Towers and the Return of the King!
October 2021 - just bought this and DAMN, this is one hell of a game. Seriously, if anyone reads this thinking of buying it: don't think, just buy it. It's a solid 10/10 for me!
I hope one day Ubisoft makes a real middle-earth game regarding the Lord of the Rings epic Peter Jackson's movies. With an awesome open-world roaming as a real adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy world and mythology!
Absolutely loved SOM and just started SOW and I love it. Brings a lot more personality to it as well as humanity and the graphical increase is felt despite some rare pop ins. Another prime example of everything that a game sequel should be. Just like Arkham City as you said.
That stupid, Not buying Micro is like " ehhhh it was just pocket money for us. " NOT BUYING THE GAME will teach them the lesson. Because now they have no money and no way to get extra money.
You didn't mention what i feel became one of the peaks of this game, especially after completing the story. Being able to upgrade your strongholds to withstand other player attacks online and attacking other players strongholds. Its kinda addictive with having options on how you want to defend or attack. Just want anyones thoughts on this aspect of the game
It makes me so sad that Warner Bros had to shove in microtransactions. I would've got this straight away if they weren't included. I will buy it when it's second hand however cause Warner Bros doesn't deserve to be rewarded for these kind of practices.
you dont HAVE to buy them, you know that right? I've already beat the game and never once even looked at the micro transactions stuff. actually, I did once, but only because you get "gold" in the game that lets you buy the stuff without using real money, and the game tells you that. but other than that, the micro transactions part has nothing to do with the game.
Its not about whether you HAVE to. Its the fact that they are there at all. This is a single player game. For it to have loot micro transactions is a slap in the face and if they become accepted as you have, they will undoubtedly become industry standard...and no one wants that
ya know how to make them NOT industry standard though? buy the game and NEVER buy the micro transactions. once they see that people want the game, but theyre not gonna spend the extra money, they'll stop putting microtransactions in stuff. but if you boycott the whole game, theyre just gonna think people didnt want this game for other reasons
GAM1NGgeek 369 same here dude, games amazing loving it similar to the last one just bigger, btw wats all this about micro transactions I haven't come across anything my players at level 14
Yep its a fantastic game. Also can't see where the loot boxes would even help you in this game. I am playing on Nemesis mode and no piece of armor I get out of the box seems like it would make it any easier.
I like this game but, you never feel like you get powerful ever. Everything kinder just levels with you. I got to level 98 or something did hundreds of online castles. And I still felt weak as shit late game while wearing the best stuff, and having a pretty solid build going with all my equipment.
So I just finished the game. I have been a fan of the lotr franchise for over 12 years and I ABSOLUTELY loved the game. The story was so intense that I actually felt like rushing it as fast as I could... I loved the fortress stuff and will definetly play more to complete 100% (also looking forward to the endless fortress assaults). The combat system isnt really hard but it is so beautiful and just never gets old, atleast in my opinion. There were so many cutscenes where I got extremely hyped and was like 'WHAAAAAT, INSANE!'. I went into the game without watching anything beforehand, I discovered the microtransactions when they pointed it out but I just ignored it and let me tell you; it is literally unnecissary. No point in buying boxes because it's like taking away precious gametime (way more fun to have huge battles over a captain than buying them lol). What I will buy tho, is the dlc, not a fan of dlc but the main game is so insane that I don't have to think about it. Feel free to reply with your own experiences :). Shadow of war was the most enjoyable game that I have played over the past year or 2.
I bought the gold edition of the game for the season pass. I got a free gold loot box which came with a few legendary captains but I haven't used them yet. I dont intend to buy any loot boxes but I have bought one using in game currency that I was awarded for completing a daily challenge. But furthermore I wont go looking to complete these dailys I will just use the currency if I happen to complete one. For example, there was a daily to kill and overlord. I just happened to take Cirith Ungol on that day so I got 500 in game currency. I got a loot war chest I think. Some of the powerups and orders are quite handy sometimes like making your favourite captain epic but no powerups or captains from loot boxes are needed really, as JB said in the video. Its just a money making thing and can be ignored. The game itself holds up perfectly without it and actually seems to be that the marketing team made the developes put this in once the game was fully developed. It feels like and add-on rather than an extension of the game mechanics. Which is great because it further solidifies the fact that it can be ignored.
As of July 2020, this game is on sale on PS Store and it costs 12$. If you are thinking about getting this game, my advice is to go ahead and buy it. I mostly got it for the nemesis system, which never failed to amaze me, and you most likely will too. Don't get me wrong, the story is good, but for me any campaign that is under 30 hours (including only the main storyline, not the side missions and exploration) can't be more than a 7/10, no matter how amazing the story itself is (the only exception are the Uncharted games, but I don't even have to tell you that that franchise is perfect). I think this might be the second "best buy" right now (for PS players) after the Witcher 3 (which is also 12$), but since I already own that game, this was the best buy for me. Hope this helped.
+Raj Mukherjee “Call me a buzzkill, but I since I don’t particularly enjoy this, nobody else should.” By the way, Witcher is just a shittier Lord of the Rings, anyway.
I beat the first game and still play it for the various game modes. Absolutely love it. Just started the second one and can already tell it's much more in depth... but what's with the graphics? The Uruks in Mordor looked WAY cooler and the graphic quality of Shadow of War just... severely irks me compared to the first.
fuck I'm stuck at take over the first fortress. I took over but after the mission the camera got stuck and I could control the character while the camera was stuck. rebooted the game got blue banners over the fotress but the mission is still there to take it over and I tried to change warcheifs and so on but nothing will work it only get stuck at loading when i try the mission again.
I honestly don't get the issue with the microtransactions. You could go through the whole game without spending real money and just use the in-game currency that isn't hard to stack up or get. I also don't get the 'pop-up in the menus constantly' like, its just there in the menu, no pop ups, no flashy 'LOOK HERE CLICK ME' gimmicks; it's just really another option to click on.
Been playing this game for three weeks now as I revived my pre order really early .i think the game is boring for the first period until you start to earn the rings .it then gets good and improves in the first game a lot .its still repetitive but fun at the same time .you earn gold every now and then in the game by doing the campaign to buy the micro boxes .i wouldnt pay for the boxes as they don’t always benefit you ,some of the orcs actually betray you from the boxes and makes the game harder .over all 8/10
(Before I begin pardon me for forgetting names) So I loved shadow of Mordor, only single player game I went back and did side quests on. Now there were some cherry mechanics that I hope arnt in this one. The biggest one is shadow mounting. I was fighting the last war chief in the hunt dlc it was a fun struggle but then out of no where comes the foul groug. I just shadow mounted him and won in less than 20 seconds. It would’ve been great to have that three way battle where it would take effort to take the groug. I usually refuse any game where non cosmetic items are micros transactions, but I will give this one a try before clapping on it considering how well the previous was made.
I was never here when you could buy loot boxes and I've have over 100 hours easily am so happy to play this game so tbh even if i was there i 100% would of stayed love the game so much
Your Lord and Savior - Balrog I have no problem grinding. I have a problem with what this can lead to - portions of the game locked behind loot boxes. Look, we already have DLC doing that (ME3' Prothean character Javik's day one DLC comes to mind), we don't need loot boxes becoming a thing in a full priced *singleplayer* game. It's already infested multiplayer
As a fan of the first game I was quite surprised by shadow of war it has a lot more to offer and yes just ignore the micro transactions..just get the goodies yourself by playing the game and earning them..dont miss out on a awesome game people..i got 40 hours in and I'm still happy and finding new stuff! UPDATE AUGUST 2019:..IM STILL PLAYING AND LOVING THIS GAME..if you haven't got the game yet you should because it's only $24 ..
and thats literally bullshit. devs work on a set pricepoint, the only thing they get is a bonus when they score a certain metacritic score in most companys nowadays. buying the game shows you r fine with the micro transactions and if not enough people are buying them they know they have to push harder next time, since obviously you were fine with them being included in the game.
bought the first one, would also buy the second one, if there weren't any micro transactions - cuz for me they just want to suck out some extra penny out of my pockets - 60€ should be more than enough for a game, dude
Your Lord and Savior - Balrog thats where you are wrong yes its sad that the developer has to suffer for the greed of the publisher but if u buy the game even if u dont buy the microtransactions you bought the game and all the other people who bought it too might buy the microtransactions so in their eyes they ll keep putting microtransactions in games because it doesnt hurt sales and if someone buys microtransactions it ll only be a bonus to them, on the other hand if you dont buy the game they will realise something is wrong and that we dont want microtransactions in our paid games.
I had a uprising against me where like 5 of my strongest orcs attacked me, they kidnapped one of my level 15 orcs who I barely remembered. He somehow took out 2 but died, and I was so devastated that I killed all those orcs when I could of gotten them back
Got given this Game for Christmas as I’ve been wanting to play it for a while now and personally I think it’s a good game after only about 5 hours playing time. I do think it’s a bit messy as there’s lots to do and the menus can be awkward but that’s just me I’m not use to these games. All in all I think it’s a good game.
This is one of the first games I played on Pc where dynamic resolution actually works. No matter what frame rate I set it for, it stays at that frame rate. Even if it's 90fps. I've tried it in other games and it would never hold the number I set it at. This game does it very well. I play on a laptop with GTX 1070 with everything maxed out. It sits around 49 but I set the dynamic to 60. Blurs background sometimes but still looks really good cause it's maxed and runs at steady 60.
Shadow of Mordor is obviously the better game, story wise and it basically innovated its system. This is of course a much improved game, just the story lacks. Regardless I won’t see it reaching the same heights shadow of mordor did.
"If you are a LoTR fan, you might like this." - nah, the game literally rapes the universe Tolkien has set up, same as the first did. To say it follows lore on level of fanfiction would be a compliment.
AY The Official lol you don’t know much about Tolkien lore then.. cuz it’s bad, like really bad. This isn’t a LotR game. Shelob is a demon of the same order as Sauron just not as powerful. Isildur and Helm were definitely not Nazgul and couldn’t have been given the timelines given in Tolkien’s books. Also Tolkien wouldn’t have written a human magic user as a hero. Mankind trying to gain power they aren’t given is always a bad thing in Tolkien’s writings and is actually a central theme of many of his stories.
@@tuneaddict2655 there are games I play for the story and games I play for gameplay. And then there was Witcher 3 and a few others. BUT - shadow of war is a great game but not a LoTR Title - hell doesn't even try to pull Silmarillion on us.
@@tuneaddict2655 did you play the game ? the main character is constantly trying to argue that he is doing the right thing, knowing he is becoming what he fights
ImAnOcean He’s still portrayed as a heroic character tho.. Sure he may become a wraith in the end but if Tolkien were writing it, Talions decisions would’ve ended up doing far more bad than good. Just look at the “children’s book” the hobbit, where all the protagonists are about to kill each other at the end and only come together because a bigger threat appears. Looking at it again, I still think Tolkien would not have approved of this type of character but it’s probably more debatable than my other points about the lore. Knowing everything I do about Middle Earth Lore and Tolkien’s personal beliefs I’m pretty confident in saying that while he may have portrayed a similar struggle to Talions in some of his writings, there’s a difference in how he handled it that might seem very subtle to some but would’ve probably been important to him given the messages his other writings tried to convey if that makes any sense.
I bought this game on release, and honestly I loved the lootboxes. You didn't have to spend money on them if you didnt want to. You could earn the points and then spend it on boxes to unlock cool and unique uruks. Its a shame that this game got bad press for something that hundreds of other games have aswell.
*MOLAG THE MACHINE* I cut him in half twice and decapitated him and he came back from death 4 fucking times. although he was a legendary enemy so I got good loot outta it so I'm not complaining.
Once I couldn’t beat this war captain and made him so powerful accidental that he rose to warchief. He climbed up to lvl 72 until I grabbed 8 captains and made them his bodyguards. Then I had this massive brawl between just him against 8 orc captains. I shamed him then dominated him to get a kickass warchief for my fortress
Huh. I thought WB was going to put a gun to my head and make me purchase Loot boxes. Turns out all I have to do is ignore them and they literally are not a problem. I wonder if other gamers know about this lifehack? *Checks comments* No. No one knows. That is so weird... It's like, people aren't happy unless they aren't happy. But gamers are known to be so rational, that cannot be.
Angry Joe makes the point as well as anybody over and over again. They aren't a problem now but they are conditioning people for the day when you can't avoid them.
I did try to purify the first 3 towers, just to make closer fast travel points available...took me over 4 hours, the orcs kept popping up randomly, some killing me quite a few times, then I needed to get revenge, then some more captains arrive, some side-missions, so when I finally did purify the towers and decided to play some story, because it got me interested, it’s 2am.
It's very good, BUT... (you probably know where this is going)

Now every time he saves me in last chance finishers, he smashes the other guy's head in with a mace and turns to me to say "You look like you could use a drink boss!"
10/10 would get saved by a drunken, grog-brewing war troll again
Lootster 3182 i can only hope i get something equally as badass or even better!
Difficulty setting?
brutalize117 critical mode
Lootster 3182 that's pretty cool
I got a similar Olog-hai but I killed him because it got mine in cirth ungol so I couldn’t dominate
one cool thing that i encountered is that i shamed an orc twice so that i could bring it down to my level because i wanted to turn it, it was an legendary orc, so it got a title like THE SHAMED so when i turned it to my side the title changed to THE UNASHAMED and every time he goes to battle he tells that he was shamed twice by the bright lord and now that he joined him he is not shamed of it any more rather he is proud of it....its really cool to see how u can change the whole character of an orc on how you deal with him.
hey do you have to update it to play the game on Xbox one
@@Dakhoth Well level doesn't cap at 60, you can still get more skill points to get every single ability

got the same orc too. that sht is legendary and is very strong so I have to shame him twice. recruited him and hired him as bodyguard and we slaughtered literally all shit. summoned him one day and bro betrayed me, he told me that I am just using him for brutality and sports and he is more than that, his name changed to THE SHAMED again. tried to recruit him again but the iron will does not get away.

I was fighting an especially skittish Captain. I spooked him and he ran into a fire pit then fell off a cliff.
Laughing Madman I was fighting some undead idiot who got hit so hard he flew off a cliff ( the ragdoll physics activated even if he was still alive)
I targeted a legendary uruk and as soon I got off the menu he strait up punched me.

who would have thought that you could recreate Denethor in this game

You can shame him to break his strong will

Is this game still worth it in 2019?
Edit: I bought the game, Absoluetly worth it, it’s so much funnn
I'd say yeah, but its ultimately up to your choice
I got it for 10€
Shad0w_ Gaming good question my friend as I’m currently looking to buy it on eBay for about £6...$5
Sounds like a bargain?
As someone who is a casual LOTR fan and has not played either of the games in this series, would you recommend playing this without having played Shadow of Mordor first? Or is it important to play Shadow of Mordor in order to fully enjoy and understand Shadow of War?
In short, in your opinion is it necessary to play Shadow of Mordor first in order to enjoy Shadow of War?
I was playing earlier and I found an overlord who had master caragor rider perk, but he was terrified of caragors 😂👍🏻
Nominal 7 Seriously? That's like being a professional NASCAR driver and being afraid of cars.
yeah i got this acher that ride a cargo, he didn't have one at first. But since he got promoted get got one but i try to make him become a spy..... GUESS WHAT...... he was scared of a caragor and got 1 shoted by one.
Aren't they only afraid of enemy caragors with that perk or fear... still funny tho
Cameron Galles as long as he's not on it you win 😂
little bit like batman he dresses like a bat but scared of bats
Othman Abuabat The story of S.O.W continues from S.O.M so play shadow of Mordor first.
Othman Abuabat
I'd say u really don't need too, it gives recap of the events that transpired in the first game within the first 10 mins.
„It’s basically an improved shadow of mordor with few more enem(y?)ies, better locations, skills, combat and movement“ doesn’t mean selling it for a price of a FULL NEW GAME
I didn't like Shadow of Mordor, I found combat boring and repetitive, should I get this one?

I had an orc once who became my body guard, a Olog-hai chap who was a bit shy for orc culture and found himself on the victim end of many a bullied scenario. The second or third time I saw him, he became distracted and was bitten by a spider. He ran away soon after, and it was a couple of weeks before I saw him again.
And then, one day as I was fighting my way through green flesh and tissue, I hear someone singing a goofy song from my childhood. A large shadow crosses the ground beneath me, one exceeding the height and accessibility of my lackluster double jump. Sure enough, dressed in a red and blue skin suit far too tight for his body, I saw the shy Olog-hai of previous mentioning, staring straight at me, singing "Spider Orc, Spider Orc, Radioactive Spider Orc..."
I was smitten, I deleted my Orc tender and we have been together ever since. Great game.
They recently got rid of the loot boxes and even when they were still in the game it was completely unnecessary to have to buy them as you could get just as good or better loot through killing uruks.
ThatOneGuy 767 oh nice just bought it

keganlb same . Saw the sale and remember seeing this game thinking it was cool
@Alastor 52 Cool, is Talion coming back from the dead or is this a prequel or even a story arch focusing on someone else?
I ran into this enemy who spoke so intelligently and then I shamed him and he turned into a complete murderous savage that didn't even speak and instead made random snarls and sounds. I've never had such interesting enemy encounters. I love this game.
Onestrandedperson When I first started I found this big guy with a flamethrower on his back but after an hour he betrayed me. Long story short I eventually got him back but now he's pretty much insane.
The psychology of the captains change?!
I own the game but only have like an hour on it so i dont know lol

I got betrayed by 4 epic capt at the same time
Same here. I hunted down every single one and shamed to Level 1.
I was about to have every captain in an area dominated then that happened to me

Shermiff -Jace Herondale i got shadow of war for christmas is a absolutely great game if you like lotr
Shermiff -Jace Herondale Yes, it is, though be aware that there will be a lot of grinding especially in the endgame section/Act IV. Still, it's extremely fun and addicting. Story is meh, however. The game is all about the Nemesis system.
They know.
The story definitely doesn’t get enough credit, I recommend everyone to play the shadow war epilogue, believe me, it’s worth it
Some stories are just amazing.
Should I buy it

As a huge Lord of the rings fan and also someone who grew up playing Assassins Creed I found the game to be a beautiful hybrid of the two and possibly one of my favorite games, only downside I can come up with is somewhat of a repetitive nature, yet I have only just taken over my second fortress
Remember to do challenges that gives you coins to buy the boxes is you want. Def. dont need to buy the coins.
Petter Blakstad agree
The nemesis system is what really makes me enjoy this game I’ve played through it 3 times and the nemesis system has always brought a new experience
Economic darwinism.
Tarks Gauntlet one way if looking at it
Not really.
Yes really.
what do you mean by this?
Darwinism is kind of like survival of the fittest, but is also used to imply a kind of stupidity that is self defeating AKA The darwin awards. Only the weak and especially stupid buy into loot boxes. Furthermore, those who seek to sling this into literally every game they have will end up walking themselves off a metaphorical cliff. It's bad on all angles. IE Economic darwanism.

For me the coolest moment was finding a warchief then dominating his bodyguards to backstab him. I love the fact that you can make more than one bodyguard backstab his warchief. It's a little hard but it's actually possible to make EVERY ONE of his bodyguards backstab him.😂
Also this warchief whose name was something the bard and he used a literal freaking LUTE AS HIS WEAPON.

It makes me so sad that Warner Bros had to shove in microtransactions. I would've got this straight away if they weren't included. I will buy it when it's second hand however cause Warner Bros doesn't deserve to be rewarded for these kind of practices.
Big C you dont have to buy them to progress you can even buy loot boxes with ingame currency so its not totaly bad
Don't bother. Betrayal system is broken
you dont HAVE to buy them, you know that right?
Why am I here? I already bought it
Me too! And I'm happy with it. I like to see peoples arguments though
Yeah, I really enjoy it too. Its bigger and better shadow of mordor. And those micro transactions haven't bothered me one bit
GAM1NGgeek 369 gurl I'm jealous
I do not care about the loot boxes. Just don’t use them just play the game.
I've played for like a hundred hours and didnt even know you could buy loot boxes. they dont seem to make or break the game
@@shartyshartington they removed they in 2018. prob why you haven't noticed them lol
There is no “before you buy” BUY IT
The micro transactions have been removed and the game is the very epic gamer status
As a LoTR fan, I stumbled upon this game 6 yrs after release for $9. Love this game…
3:33 (Surprise - you can turn off all that stuff in settings. Thanks for reviewing a game you didn't even browse through the options of!)
I bought this game a few days ago and it's way better than the first one in my opinion, I'm definitely enjoying it so far.

I beat the first game and still play it for the various game modes. Absolutely love it. Just started the second one and can already tell it's much more in depth... but what's with the graphics? The Uruks in Mordor looked WAY cooler and the graphic quality of Shadow of War just... severely irks me compared to the first.

ThePetemarvel or I just like to watch their content a lot. But hey who am I.......
They take away features from games that were free and move them behind a gambling paywall.

Yourname942 from what I experienced, no features of the game was taken away and can be accessed through spending real money
Been playing this game for three weeks now as I revived my pre order really early .i think the game is boring for the first period until you start to earn the rings .it then gets good and improves in the first game a lot .its still repetitive but fun at the same time .you earn gold every now and then in the game by doing the campaign to buy the micro boxes .i wouldnt pay for the boxes as they don’t always benefit you ,some of the orcs actually betray you from the boxes and makes the game harder .over all 8/10
Oh yea I only paid £35 pre order and got the 4 orcs as a pre order exclusive .if this game was £55/£60 I would rate it less
I got betrayed without buying the loot boxes
I was never here when you could buy loot boxes and I've have over 100 hours easily am so happy to play this game so tbh even if i was there i 100% would of stayed love the game so much
After getting it for $12.79 on Steam, I can say it's definitely worth my money.
*Before You Buy: A singleplayer game with the audacity to add in loot boxes*
Wolfram 1045 and the decency to make no need at all for them unless you want to make an awesome grind boring
Wolfram 1045 i would say a 60$ game with the audacity of having microtransactions. Microtransactions are a cancer on the industry not just lootboxes.
Wolfram 1045
Lol then you're going to hate Battlefront 2
Don't for get Borderlands with those Shift codes.

Definitely my favorite world in a video game just because of Mordor and Minas Ithil.
if games pull the micro-transaction card, I'll just pull the piratebay card lol
(CODEX already cracked it ;p)
That’s literally only hurting the developer. If u want to hurt micro transactions then buy the base game and nothing else
and thats literally bullshit. devs work on a set pricepoint, the only thing they get is a bonus when they score a certain metacritic score in most companys nowadays. buying the game shows you r fine with the micro transactions and if not enough people are buying them they know they have to push harder next time, since obviously you were fine with them being included in the game.
bought the first one, would also buy the second one, if there weren't any micro transactions - cuz for me they just want to suck out some extra penny out of my pockets - 60€ should be more than enough for a game, dude
When you just whait for Cyberpunk but find some new to you game that is actually worth it , thx Gameranx
Sadly cyberpunk is a buggy mess
Gonna replay it again. This game is seriously so good. Microtransactions aren’t too bad at all.
I love the game, i only started to play this late... because now not a single micro transaction comes up for me😄
same
patrik32 I waited a year to buy it so I don’t have to buy it for 40 or 60 bucks now it’s 19
Ima buy it too
Same.
Exactly! It's got an addictive game loop but the story is pretty boring but I wasn't sold on the first game either but it's a good time waster.
Its time... games I never would buy are now interesting because of PS Plus.... hellllll yeahh
Shadow of more doors seems pretty cool.
First Class Mordor*
Shadow of Mordor is obviously the better game, story wise and it basically innovated its system.
This is of course a much improved game, just the story lacks. Regardless I won’t see it reaching the same heights shadow of mordor did.
You can get the crates with the arena battles and it’s super useful for grinding.
This game is on a sale so now I'm here debating if I wanna get it, I'm assuming the expansions/dlcs would be màndatory if I get the game right?
In my opinion, this game is better than the original.
"If you are a LoTR fan, you might like this." - nah, the game literally rapes the universe Tolkien has set up, same as the first did. To say it follows lore on level of fanfiction would be a compliment.
The game takes place 60 years before the fellowship so it's not really following lore, rather stepping cautiously to not offend people like you.
Even if you haven't played the first game, defiantly play on Nemesis difficulty.
SealStorm193 why so ?
Definitely*
Uh why is this game so hard, do you guys have tips plz i keep dieing.....
*Shadow Of More Dosh*
MrNangle you play killing floor 2?
Geralt of Rivia hahaha yeah I do indeed 😂 love it
Geralt of Rivia holy shit you got such a lucky name
Diablo Valentine haha how is my name lucky 😂
Dosh? Reminds me of Fantasy Life.
Free on ps+ this month. Also reminds me I gotta play the 1st one off my backlog 1st, lol
I have this with Xbox gamepass. It’s really fun. Enjoy 😃
I just finished the first one because of the Vendetta trophy that will be unobtainable lol
Im getting shadow of war don't care what anyone says saw 10 minutes of gameplay looks amazing and fun
It’s very fun! Some say it tried to be too ambitious. But the core gameplay is great. Hope you enjoy
