Thank you all for following along and supporting me with your cheers and prayers on this big year of thru-hiking. It means the world to me. I am hiking this year in memory of my daughter who passed 20 years ago and also raising awareness for osteoporosis, something I deal with, hoping to inspire those who can to get out there and Live Life. Glad to have you back on trail! phew Lyme can be rough, glad you are conquering by continue onward after rest. Hiking on meds can be more draining than ever, glad you're taking it easy.
I hope you feel better. Sending prayers your way. Lyme is no fun. Try to get extra rest. I enjoy your videos!! My daughter is hiking the AT. She is near the end of Mass. It's nice to watch your videos and see what's ahead for her. Thanks for all the info!!
Fortune your hike this year has been an example of life ,ups and downs. You have been hit with everything but keep on going . So hang in there and keep on going. The past 18 months have been rough, my Wife was finally taken from me on May 19 from cancer your hike has been my escape. Thanks for your had work one day maybe I can shake your hand for you being there and you not even know how much you have helped me.
Hang in there, Fortune, you are strong in body and spirit. Lots of us are pulling for your quick recovery. I just came off of a round of doxycycline due to a tick bite a couple of weeks back, and seem to be close to 100% now. Hey, that looks like the Story Spring Shelter - good tent sites. Best to you.
This probably to late but perhaps others might benefit from this...mynocycline is a sister to doxicyclin. I'm a landscaper and when I get Lyme my doctors prescribes mynocycline instead because no stomach upset and no sun side effects. And it clears Lyme just like doxicyclin. Sorry don't won't to diagnosis it as you asked not. But, maybe in the future you might find helpful. Best John
Ohhhhh, I feel your pain. I am so glad you are taking the doxy. Better to feel like crap for a few days than several years. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this in the middle of your adventure. Best wishes from a survivor of chronic Lyme.
Oh Fortune! I'm so sorry to hear you are fighting Lyme. I have no doubt you will beat this. Doxy is brutal, especially for anyone already struggling with gut problems. I hope you feel better soon. 💚
I have watched your video’s faithfully since I became interested in the AT with family members starting a hike. I have learned alot and appreciate the views and trail. I even got used to your humor and have enjoyed it.. I am so sorry about your ongoing issues with gut.. I too have a sensitive digestive system and have to be soooo careful about what I eat. After all , it’s our gut that processes what we put in our mouth. There are so many places I can’t eat depending on the oils they cook with. I am very careful about fried and spicy foods, and dairy and nuts… So when I watch you eat, I understand you are very hungry, I cringe because I know my gut can’t handle that. I wonder if that is why your’s gets inflamed, what you put in, must come out!! Just curious… I am also very sorry about your current issues with suspected Lyme disease. I do hope the doxy is helping. Doxy is rough on the stomach so I hope you are eating carefully so as not to trigger the gut but protect the stomach. I miss you being on trail.. Hope you feel better real soon.. I pray these issues are “In The Bag”!!
Looks like you are beating the Lyme! You are motivated and strong! Nothing will slow ya down! My hubs climbed that tower back in 2019 when it was open “They” have to ruin everything! Almost to the Whites! I am your biggest cheerleader. Go Fortune!!!
Hello. I hope you feel better REALLY SOON! You are a warrior and I know you will be just fine. But just listen to your body and slow down if you feel you need to. Happy Hiking!
I'm so sorry to hear you (probably) got Lyme! So easy to get in the outdoors. I'm glad you got to a doctor and got some medicine for it though, and are feeling a little better. Hope you're back to your regular healthy (and hungry!) self real soon!
Fast from food, water only for three days, plenty of sunlight, and relax during the sunniest parts of the day, leafy greens and rosemary, sage, oregano should help some, oil vinegar dressing if needed to curb hunger while fasting. Try it before denying it. My inspiration is a nationwide herbal and leafy green trail, everywhere I'm allowed to coexist and create the trail filled with edible growth and herbal remedies. -nameless, section through hiker, wanderer. Cockadoodledoo, I love God! And massaging feet along the trail, blind man night hiking and being minimalist is what I'm known for a long the trail. Hike your own hike. Happy trails. Oh ps massage the tops of your feet, ankles and shin muscle line between the bones to alleviate some foot fatigue. Try it, kneading motion with thumb.
🚶👟👟⛺🌞 I hope you get feeling better soon Fortune I want to really enjoy the music videos you made stay safe and happy hiking and LIVE LIFE 💯♥️ PS when you get better write a song about the nasty Lyme
