I really don't understand why people choose samsung (or another android phone) rather sony? I bought many sony devices and all of them are still working perfectly. have very well build quality. in my opinion, durability and stability are the two most important features for an electronic device. and sony extremely has these.
They lack support period. Remember the xz1? The first android that had Oreo? Well, it only got 1 major software update and after that Sony pretty much dumped it. No more update support and their bloat can't be removed because Sony didn't bother fixing the bugs on products that don't sell. Their camera software are a steaming pile of carbage despite other companies using Sonys camera hardware.
Tbh i like sony products e.g; TV, Home audio, Camera, Console etc but not in phone. Lack of OIS, No MHL (even in flagships), No 3.5mm, No radio etc. I think they're not serious in phone business.
Being Sony fan for over 10 years, I gotta say that the new design sucks balls. Finger print scanner on the back instead of the side mounted is a big got for me. I don't understand why Sony couldn't take the same XZ PREMIUM design, and just increase the screen res to 18:9
The bezels on XZP take half of the screen and that is just god damn, downright disgusting. But XZ2 from the back, oh heavens... has to be the worst smartphone design in the whole history. The fp scan on the back though, is much feels more practical and has a nice feel to it. So if there was an XZP with XZ2-ish front design, beautiful and curvy edges with most minimal bezel/chin and a possible rear fp scanner, topped of with basic camera updates, we'd probably have the best phone in the world.
I've just upgraded from a Xperia Z5 and have the XZ Premium and love it to bits . Overall the XZ Premium is the better phone . He did not mention that the colours were much stronger on the XZ Premium Vs XZ2 that's because it's s 4K HDR screen he also missed that out .and the performance between Snapdragon 835 Vs 845 was so marginal just shows how well the XZ Premium had been extremely well optimised with 4GB memory. Just because a phone had 2gb more memory does not always mean it will perform better folks not always the case ! I'm quite happy sacrafising a few inches of a screen if it means having a better spec phone .I still can't get over how fast and powerful this XZ Premium is .5.5 inch screen is more than good enough for me .I don't like the new look XZ2 and I don't like having finger sensor on the back . personally the XZ Premium is by far the best ever looking phone Sony has ever made its beautiful design. The XZ2 was louder in sound that does not mean at all its better in '' Audio quality'' ..! XZ Premium wins it hands down on screen resolution 4K HDR and better spec front facing camera. If you want a marginal speed improvement then go for XZ2 if you want the quality and superior hardware then sorry XZ Premium wins it hands down ! Snapdragon 835 is hardly a slouch CPU it's very powerful

yasser ashraf Right at the moment cant see it but i know what you mean. I have definetly noticed that red light a lot of times. Just tested and noticed that it blinks when you turn screen on and off and stays when screen is on but not unlocked.
yasser ashraf yes, its always on with adaptive brightness. I usually turn that off because even in dark suroundings its not setting brightness on lowest, so i almost always have to adjust it manualy.
I would say the advantages of the XZ Premium are the 3.5mm headphone jack, 4K display resolution, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, flat back (doesn't spin on a table) and 40g lighter weight. The advantages of the XZ2 are the more modern design (18:9 aspect ratio with smaller bezels) as well as faster chipset, wireless charging and 2GB more RAM.
This proves that Sony devices don't slow down over time one year old device (1 year of usage) still fast and on same performance as the new one, that's why I choce Sony over othe brands
I have a bit of creative criticism for these tests. It's about the speaker test. I know you are filming with a phone, so the way you have the 2 phones placed under the filming phone makes the left phone to be under the left mic of the filming phone. And the right phone is more in the middle of the filming phone so it always turns out more balanced for us. Maybe you should pick the phone playing the music, turn it in landscape orientation and place it under the center of the filming phone. Hope it makes sense. :)
pijesz yeah , ditto , i would not buy the xz2 , not much difference in performance , the premium has a headphone jack , bigger battery , and does not spin like top on the counter . if i remember correctly the premium also has a glass lens covering the main camera , where as it is plastic on the xz2 , not to mention the somewhat dodgily placed FPS on the xz2 . To me , the xz2 is most definitely a down grade .

In my opinion there's no need to upgrade. I'm using my XZ Premium and I'm pretty happy with it. Although the sound is louder on the XZ2, I think on the XZ P the sound quality and camera performance is better. Let's wait for the new Premium version! Cheers

This was a pretty good comparison. I don't think it's worth upgrading for less than a second in speed. Video test was actually a big difference but I am still really happy with mine today

why not just go for the Huawei P20 Pro if you just want the best smartphone camera on the market? it practically rivals a $2000 stand-alone camera. in all honesty i think you're being jipped on the XZ2's camera considering dual-camera setups are better and that sony had a showcasing demonstration of their own dual-cam but chose not to put it in their latest flagship

I think the main selling point here is: which phone doesn't move everytime you touch it. As someone whose looking to buy my first Sony phone, the XZ Premium is definitely superior.
The performance on speakers for the XZ Premium shows a cleaner sound, on the other hand the XZ2 has a bit higher sound but I feel it is not as clean as it should be, tbh I prefer the XZ Premium lower but cleaner sound performance.
I don't think there's a compelling reason to upgrade. Performance-wise, XZP still works at par with XZ2. I prefer 16:9 aspect, headphone jack, 4k display, 13mp front cam. 18:9 ratio doesn't make images sharper, it makes phone taller. So I am looking 4ward to an XZP with smaller bezels.
Just saw a vid on the XZ2 Premium and im totally dissapointed. They kept the same design damn. Looks like i wont be changing out my XZ Premium anytime soon. I hope sales for the XZ2 Premium don't take off so that Sony can go back to their roots.

defnetly a better deal for getting the xz premuim cause u get 4k a better camera nicer design better fingerprint location and the only difference between the xz2 is a couple milliseconds faster

Nice video.... Ive got an XZP and Its great... I tested the 2 instore today, and like on the video... I thought the speakers weren't that much better, slightly louder on the 2, but just as rich on both... the speaker audio vibrates through the XZP big surface area of its body, so we already have the "Rumble" .. the front camera of the 2 is horrible and the rear cam is maybe slightly better on the 2, but not much to warrant an upgrade.. The XZP has a stunning 4K screen and a Headphone jack... What more do you want... IMO, SONY betrayed its users be removing the headphone jack... I really hoped, like Samsung.. theyd keep it and not join the Apple Dev Sheep.. Oh well :)

I am in Canada and there are no xzp available in the market so I had no choices and I have to buy XZ2 (only black color ) with the broken heart. I am using right now XZ2 but I am totally disappointed with its front camera. I will buy XZP soon from Amazon when I will get my salary.
Both of them is very good I think if you already have the xz premium don't need to get the xz2 premium me I have the xz premium and I'm gonna wait until to get the next model on 2019 which definitely gonna have more differences on the performances and features
Have a look at the new Sony XA2 Plus, that's a beautiful device. Probably the best looking handset on the market. 6inch IPS display hd+ , 23 MP camera , 6 Gigs of RAM with a Snapdragon 630 for about 350$. NO IP Rating (:to save costs I guess ) . I'm currently on a XZP , which is lovely designed but that XA2 Plus = WoW.
Looks like Sony sure do an excellent job...... I can tell overall performance XZ 2 is much better than XZP , is just the weird design they put on the xz 2 is so 😶 , but yeah!! XZ2 is the new king of Sony Xperia .
A question: does the xz premium load games to the 4k resolution? If so might explain the milliseconds delay on that phone? The one issue I have with my xz premium is WiFi strength. Not as good as my previous z5. Its clear in terms of what xz2 has to offer there's no need to upgrade. There's two reasons so far with 4 mins into the video that I wouldn't choose the xz2 over the premium first the way the phone rotates when flat on the surface, who made that design blunder. Second reason and a possible reason I would never choose the phone is no earphone jack. If this is the future to be no phone jack then it looks like I'll have my xz premium forever. A third reason. I hated the finger print sensor on the back of the Samsung.
@10:33 this test is not very accurate, u have different camera angles + different light so the phone has different cpu usage to focus on objects because of the lack of contrast. other than that, i liked the review. Seems like a very underrated serie.

Just saw a vid on the XZ2 Premium and im totally dissapointed. They kept the same design damn. Looks like i wont be changing out my XZ Premium anytime soon. I hope sales for the XZ2 Premium don't take off so that Sony can go back to their roots.

defnetly a better deal for getting the xz premuim cause u get 4k a better camera nicer design better fingerprint location and the only difference between the xz2 is a couple milliseconds faster

Nice video.... Ive got an XZP and Its great... I tested the 2 instore today, and like on the video... I thought the speakers weren't that much better, slightly louder on the 2, but just as rich on both... the speaker audio vibrates through the XZP big surface area of its body, so we already have the "Rumble" .. the front camera of the 2 is horrible and the rear cam is maybe slightly better on the 2, but not much to warrant an upgrade.. The XZP has a stunning 4K screen and a Headphone jack... What more do you want... IMO, SONY betrayed its users be removing the headphone jack... I really hoped, like Samsung.. theyd keep it and not join the Apple Dev Sheep.. Oh well :)

Hey man, when will the Xperia Xz2 Premium be released?
I am in Canada and there are no xzp available in the market so I had no choices and I have to buy XZ2 (only black color ) with the broken heart. I am using right now XZ2 but I am totally disappointed with its front camera. I will buy XZP soon from Amazon when I will get my salary.
Both of them is very good I think if you already have the xz premium don't need to get the xz2 premium me I have the xz premium and I'm gonna wait until to get the next model on 2019 which definitely gonna have more differences on the performances and features
The XZ2 in the USA is the 4Gb model. Not the 6Gb, that's for Europe.

Have a look at the new Sony XA2 Plus, that's a beautiful device. Probably the best looking handset on the market. 6inch IPS display hd+ , 23 MP camera , 6 Gigs of RAM with a Snapdragon 630 for about 350$. NO IP Rating (:to save costs I guess ) . I'm currently on a XZP , which is lovely designed but that XA2 Plus = WoW.
So overall the xz premium wins

Looks like Sony sure do an excellent job...... I can tell overall performance XZ 2 is much better than XZP , is just the weird design they put on the xz 2 is so 😶 , but yeah!! XZ2 is the new king of Sony Xperia .
A question: does the xz premium load games to the 4k resolution? If so might explain the milliseconds delay on that phone?
The one issue I have with my xz premium is WiFi strength. Not as good as my previous z5. Its clear in terms of what xz2 has to offer there's no need to upgrade. There's two reasons so far with 4 mins into the video that I wouldn't choose the xz2 over the premium first the way the phone rotates when flat on the surface, who made that design blunder. Second reason and a possible reason I would never choose the phone is no earphone jack. If this is the future to be no phone jack then it looks like I'll have my xz premium forever.
A third reason. I hated the finger print sensor on the back of the Samsung.

I think the display is more important, so i will bought the xzp coz it was 4K resolution and of course it way better than xz2
@10:33 this test is not very accurate, u have different camera angles + different light so the phone has different cpu usage to focus on objects because of the lack of contrast.
other than that, i liked the review.
