Love high quality entertainment! 😊😊😊😊😊
I agree with your list!
Some thoughts to this topic:
- Alice Cooper "From the inside": You can easily see who it is.
My favorite Alice Cooper album. I listened to it a hundred times (or so) and it never gets bored. Such an underrated album.
- More of Pink Floyd, like "Animals", "Atom heart mother", "Pulse" and of course "Dark side of the moon".
- The Who: I think the words "Who's next" were on the original LP, too.
That Northern Pikes cover gets the ‘what were they thinking’ award.
I remember seeing the Wish You Were Here album in the States when it was new. Like you said, it was totally enveloped in a thick, solid black plastic wrapper with a hype sticker on it naming the album and the band. My young (I won't say how young) mind conjured up a cover image of a naked lady facing the viewer with her legs spread wide open. Imagine my disappointment when, years later, I bought the album and saw the actual cover art.
You didn't mention Ummagumma (maybe not in your collection). Great cover art and great album to boot.
Fun video Larry. It'll prompt many to seek out similar from their own collections..
High quality entertainment with a high quality encore.
Totally agree with you on King Crimson, great album, great cover (though I do also like the cover to Atomic Heart Mother).
Abbey Road is my number one here, that album cover is so iconic! After watching this video it made me realise that Sparks have some awesome album covers, my favourite is the one with the hippo!🦛
Canadian band Alexisonfire had an interesting album cover with the schoolgirls about to do battle.
The artist who did the King Crimson cover Barry Godber died young at 24.
"Anymore for Anymore" by Ronnie Lane is my fave. Enjoyed this video, thanks.
I can add Pink Floyd - Animals. I am told if you look at the Animals front cover, you can see the title and band name spelled out, but very hidden. Also, Roger Daltrey's Ride A Rock Horse (1975) Daltrey is in the form of a centaur, the front cover has no text, and the back only has the album name. In the USA the MCA Records label has the artist's name on it to make it official. The original Thriller by Michael Jackson was going to be without text on the album just song titles and writers and publishers credits throughout. The artist and album title would be in the dead wax.
I'd have your #1 near the bottom of my list, and 154 near the top!
Hi Larry nice list my two favoriete are abby road and dark side of the moon 👍✌️
3D= Lenticular Larry
Abbey Road is my favourite. Dark Side of the Moon is a close second for me 👍xx.
Hey Larry... Who's Next did have text, "Who's next", on top... Abbey Road is probably my favorite.
How can you not include the first album by King Crimson? One of the scariest covers as well! a couple others- Joni Mitchell- Court and Spark, Cars- Candy-O, The Red House- There is a window. By the way, my lp or the Who's Next album has the titl eon the front cover.
❤this. We don't need the type, right? Like the Mona Lisa. I need to get a copy of Smell the Glove, now that I think @bout it.
Hey Larry what's your opinion on Bob Dylan?
I like him but not a huge favorite. I love his Slow Training Coming album the most.
@@canadianstudmuffin Slow Train Coming is a great album.
Bayou Country originally had text Larry
There aren't too many. When I saw Led Zeppelin's textless cover, I first didn't believe it was theirs.
The McCartney album cover is pretty good too.
Spinal Tap's first real album is another one, but obviously you don't own a copy because it's not on your list. Their follow-up, Break Like the Wind, has the title and band name prominently placed on the front cover.
It's Abbey Road for me Larry, simply a beautiful album cover and unfortunately Paul's Driving Rain cover as bad as it is is better then the music inside,it's not one of Paul's best albums, sorry Paul. Bob
👍
Had to be abbey road. 😊

Oops. Didn’t realize there was an addendum to the video. 😅
Just an idea, but what about a video for great covers for bad albums? Or great albums where the cover is not worthy of the music?
King gizzard has a few
12 Bar Bruise
Float Along - Fill Your Lungs
Murder of the Universe
Fishing for Fishies
Infest the Rats’ Nest
PetroDragonic Apocalypse
The Silver Cord
all of these would make my list
Propaganda is my favourite from the ones you showed. The King Crimson one is off putting but the story behind its artist is sad but interesting.
Atom Heart Mother
Agree, but not in my CD collection.
@@canadianstudmuffin Yes I get that this is a list from your own stack, not like those horrible album cover lists you have made.
When I started in on this video, there were two 1970 releases I had in mind.
One was Atom Heart Mother. Which is in my collection, and I don't remember why I ever bought that CD in the first place back in the early 90s. Maybe it was the cover art? Anyway, not an album with any radio hits but some interesting music scattered about.
The other: Sit Down Young Stranger, by Gordon Lightfoot, which was only released with no text on the front cover for the initial pressings. Then the title got added up front, then the title got CHANGED. In the end, there were numerous cover art variations, and record label decals variations... and I collected most of them over the years that I bought used vinyl. (Yeah I'm a Lightfoot fan)
Who’s Next original has text
I thought of XTC Black Sea; nice cover with no writing
Black Sea had text on the cover in the U.K and It came in a green bag with the tile and band written on it
