- Babe I’m Gonna Leave You - Dazed and Confused - The Battle of Evermore - Stairway to Heaven - No Quarter - Kashmir - In the Light - Down by the Seaside - Achilles Last Stand
1. When the Levee Breaks (blues-rock perfection) 2. Stairway to Heaven (overplayed for a damn good reason) 3. Ten Years Gone (their most underrated epic) 4. Since I've Been Loving You (their most intense song) 5. Kashmir (the greatest riff in rock history?) 6. Black Dog (just smoldering... Page's solo at the end is the cherry on top) 7. No Quarter (captures the essence of Zep- ethereal, heavy, melodic, adventurous) 8. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (the hard driving sections are where metal was invented) 9. Bron-y-Aur Stomp (the pinnacle of Zep's quest to fuse delta blues with English folk) 10. Ramble On (greatest bass line in rock history?) JUST MISSED THE CUT: The Rover (pains me to leave this out) Out on the Tiles The Battle of Evermore Good Times Bad Times Immigrant Song That's the Way Achilles Last Stand Fool in the Rain Whole Lotta Love Hey Hey What Can I Do Over the Hills and Far Away Misty Mountain Hop Trampled Under Foot

Best described - Oh so good!)
Great stuff lads! 10. Trampled Under Foot 9. Going To California 8. Thank You 7. Hearbreaker 6. Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You 5. The Rover 4. Communication Breakdown 3. No Quarter 2. When The Levee Breaks 1. Achilles Last Stand
All great choices and thankfully no one had Stairway on their list! I'd Go With These 10 10. Ramble On- Just a great early Zepplin classic. Great Bass line, Great Acoustic tracking, interesting drums during the verses sounds like a bongo being played with perfect 16th notes. 9. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp- a song about a dog... what's not to love? 8. Dancing Days- That pocket is TIGHT! 7. When The Levee Breaks- Tight and Innovative. 6. The Rain Song- still one of my favorite rock ballads. 5. Achillies Last Stand- It's that damn good 4. The Immagrant Song (How The West Was Won Live Version)- Powerful 3. In My Time of Dying- Epic! 2. Communication Breakdown- pretty much kick started so many guitar players to pick up the instrument and Robert Plants vocals are nuts. 1. Gallows Poll- incredible, fun, tells a story, that bass drum is huge and it just sounds so fantastic.
1 - Since I've Been Loving You 2 - Whole Lotta Love 3 - When The Levee Breaks 4 - Immigrant Song 5 - In My Time Of Dying 6 - Kashmir 7 - Thank You 8 - The Rain Song 9 - Trampled Underfoot 10 - Fool In The Rain
1 - Kashmir/ 2 - The Rover/ 3 - Immigrant Song/ 4 - 10 Years Gone/ 5 - Since I've Been Loving You/ 6 - Goin To California/ 7 - When The Levee Breaks/ 8 - Gallow's Pole/ 9 - Communication Breakdown/ 10 - The Rain Song. Hate to leave off 'Black Dog', 'Evening', 'Trampled', Quarter'. My top 10 could easily be jumbled. Those are all iconic. Even deep albums cuts by LZ - "The Wanton Song', "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp' - who does crazy sh*t like that? It is interesting to note Kramzer's choices: the melodic choices.
10. Thank You 9. In The Light 8. Rock And Roll 7. When The Levee Breaks 6. Nobody's Fault But Mine 5. Black Dog 4. In The Evening 3. Since I've Been Loving You 2. The Rover 1. Achilles Last Stand(For me, nothing comes close to this masterpiece)
10. Heartbreaker 9. In the Light 8. Over the Hills and Far Away 7. How Many More Times 6. The Lemon Song 5. Trampled Underfoot 4. No Quarter 3. The Wanton Song 2. Kashmir 1. When the Levee Breaks
Talk about spoiled for choice! We could have easily picked our top 30 or 40 songs without any reduction in overall quality. My choices are: 1. Kashmir 2. Stairway To Heaven 3. The Rain Song 4. Achilles Last Stand 5. Since I’ve Been Loving You 6. When The Levee Breaks 7. Babe I’m Gonna Leave You 8. The Battle Of Evermore 9. What Is And What Should Never Be 10. The Rover
Since 1979, when I was 10, Led Zeppelin has been my favorite band. Never eclipsed to this day. And never will be. They will be playing at my funeral. Yeah, I’m that dude. Ok here is my Top 10: 1) Stairway To Heaven 2) When The Levee Breaks 3) Ten Years Gone 4) Achilles Last Stand 5) Dazed And Confused 6) In My Time Of Dying 7) The Song Remains The Same 8) The Rain Song 9) Kashmir 10) Rock And Roll
You can easily put anything that is not in the top ten into one big #11 or honorable mention slot. It is easier than to list the few 5 or 6 tunes that I would leave out - mostly from the In Out Door album or Physical Graffiti (I do not consider Coda as a real album, it is just a collection of odds). 10. Celebration Day 9. Kashmir 8. Over the Hills and Far Away 7. Thank You 6. When the Levee Breaks 5. Immigrant Song 4. The Ocean 3. Whole Lotta Love 2. Battle of Evermore (The unforgettable Sandy Denny and Robert Plant, so sad they only did this one tune together) 1. Rock and Roll (Little Richard invented the rock singer - best represented by Robert Plant. He plays the same role as influence that Chuck Berry played for the Rolling Stones)
Top 10 was a tough one for sure. Too many great songs! Had to do a top 15...and still left some awesome songs off. 1 "Tangerine" 2 "Fool in the Rain" 3 "Stairway to Heaven" 4 "Whole Lotta Love" 5 "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" 6 "Ten Years Gone" 7 "Black Dog" 8 "The Rain Song" 9 "Hot Dog" 10 "Over the Hills and Far Away" 11 "Going to California" 12 "All My Love" 13 "D'yer Mak'er" 14 "Immigrant Song" 15 "Kashmir"
Really interesting list. I am 52 and don't know if I have ever listened to an LZ album all the way through. Like almost everything I've ever heard by them, but they were one of those bands that was everywhere--on the radio, at parties, in people's cars. I just never felt the need to buy one of their albums, but now I am feeling that hole in my musical education.
This is super tough ,and Im sure I will be kicking myself for leaving something great out after I send it; 10.Sick Again-(the closest to glam Zep ever got,it's awesome) 09.Carouselambra-(the closest to disco they got, this could actually get you on the dance floor,a JPJ triumph) 08.Hots on For Nowhere-(just so funky and fun) 07.Out on the Tiles-(a monster riff) 06.The Rover-(another monster riff) 05.Ramble On(the height of Plant's Tolkienism) 04.Achilles Last Stand-(Jimmy Page's best epic) 03.Since Iv'e Been Loving You-(the live version from MSG '73 in the SRTH movie is perfection) 02.The Rain Song-(just beautiful) 01.When The Levee Breaks-(the apotheosis of what Led Zep is all about. It defines their essence more than any other track, the marraige of Bonham's big beat with the blues.)
10-living loving maid, 9-dancing days, 8-that's the way, 7-ramble on, 6-over the hills and far away, 5-fool in the rain, 4-ozone baby, 3-wanton song, 2-the rain song, 1-ten years gone

In The Evening (In Through The Out Door deserves way more respect than it gets) 7. Thank You (Best peaceful, calm Led Zeppelin song) 6. When The Levee Breaks (Second best closer) 5. The Ocean (Best Closer and an absolutely mind-blowing guitar riff) 4. Ten Years Gone (Gives ballads a new name) 3. Stairway To Heaven (Deserves all the respect it gets) 2. Yeah, a really really hard one to narrow down. I think my current top 5 might be "Dazed And Confused", "Stairway To Heaven" (no matter how overplayed it might be), "Down By The Seaside", "How Many More Times" and "The Rover", but there are a ton of candidates for 6-10. "Kashmir", "No Quarter", "Ramble On", "That's The Way", "Heartbreaker", "Immigrant Song", "Ten Years Gone", "Going To California", "Whole Lotta Love", "Over The Hills And Far Away" and several others could all potentially battle it out. I believe Plant himself said he was trying to do Elvis on "Candy Store Rock", and that is indeed a crazy choice, lol.
I played rock and roll at my dads 60th - they’d had food and were having ‘pudding’ I believe at the time. I had my 1210’s set up. Dropped this bad boi Place went off
1. How Many More Times 2. Over The Hills And Far Away 3. Achilles Last Stand 4. Babe Im Gonna Leave You 5. Bring It On Home 6. Dazed And Confused 7. Gallows Pole 8. Celebration Day 9. When The Levee Breaks 10. Living Loving Maid

can't put them in order beyond my #1 which is Black Dog. Here are my other nine in chronological order. Good Times Bad Times Whole Lotta Love Immigrant Song Since I've Been Loving You Custard Pie The Rover Kashmir In The Light Down By The Seaside Is it coincidence that there are four album opening tracks here? Achilles Last Stand made the shortlist too but I couldn't reduce the quotion of songs from Physical Graffiti to below 50%. The only other two Zeppelin songs I have loaded on my phone are Communication Breakdown, Stairway to Heaven and the rest of Phys Graf.
My list is very very basic, but Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir etc. etc. are all-time classics for a reason. 10. In the Light (1975) 9. The Song Remains the Same (1973) 8. Stairway to Heaven (1971)
Steve Harris from Iron Maiden and the "gallopy thing", one of his favourite bands was Nektar and the whole gallopy thing comes from the song "King Of Twilight", that's why Maiden covered it as a B side.

As one of the greatest rock bands of all time, every song in Led Zeppelin's catalogue could be argued to be some kind of classic by now, or at least essential to the canon, so any top-ten list will be on target regardless of the titles chosen. The following are ten that are particularly meaningful to me, listed in alphabetical order by title: --"All My Love" (touching testament of pure, enduring love) --"Down by the Seaside" (one of the most unusual tracks by the band, quirky and memorable) --"Fool in the Rain" (really exciting Latin flair to this late effort) --"Going to California" (a favorite among favorites, possibly the single most beautiful song the group ever produced) --"No Quarter" (one of the eeriest songs in all of rock, Led Zeppelin's spookiest utterance) --"The Rain Song" (rhythmically gentle and lilting, a perfect sonic evocation of rain and the moods it engenders) --"Ramble On" (good early example of the band's rocking, bluesy sound wedded to mystical, fantasy-laden imagery) --"Stairway to Heaven" (remains the single most iconic song in the group's output, a true classic that will be revisited as long as rock is appreciated) --"Ten Years Gone" (moody and reflective ruminations on lost time) --"Thank You" (simple, lovely declaration of sincere sentiment)

Kramzer, I don't know what reggae you have listened to to make you be so lukewarm about it, but if you haven't heard Burnin' by the Wailers or The Harder They Come by Jimmy Cliff, you should give them a try. Really groovy, soulful music with outstanding musicianship. I especially love that Wailers album. So good.
Some people hate Raggae with a passion. I have never like any, but for the Neil Young reggae version of Cortez the Killer and a couple of The Police songs . There is Soca and then there is the worst music over . Reggae
10. No Quarter 9. Thank You 8. Kashmir 7. That's the Way 6. Your Time is Gonna Come 5. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 4. In the Light 3. Ten Years Gone 2. Achilles Last Stand 1. When the Levee Breaks

Again, my taste in Zeppelin mirrors Joe's. We have two or three songs in our top ten in common. I would've also had Hey, Hey, What Can I Do? but it just misses the top ten for me. It's definitely a top fifteen for me. My Top Ten Led Zeppelin Songs: 1. When The Levee Breaks (What Zeppelin fan doesn't like this song?! C'mon?) 2. Nobody's Fault But Mine (It's rock & blues at it's finest.) 3. Over The Hills and Far Away (It's gorgeous, atmospheric and one of their best acoustic tracks.) 4. Immigrant Song (It's loud and Robert Plant makes sounds that are barely human-like😊) 5. Traveling Riverside Blues (I love the slide guitar.) 6. Heartbreaker (What an amazing riff.) 7. The Ocean (It's pure rock-n-roll fun.) 8. In The Evening (I love the dark and sexy mood brewing under the surface.) 9. Fool In The Rain (It's a tour de force and Jimmy Page's guitar solo takes it over the top for me.) 10. Ramble On, Whole Lotta Love & Kashmir (I originally had only Ramble On but, I love all three songs equally. So, I'm undecided on which to keep.) Runners-Up: Hey, Hey, What Can I Do?, Rock and Roll, Four Sticks and The Wanton Song

Stairway To Heaven is number one period. Admittedly I haven't listened to it in 20 years, but like most music I loved in my teens, it's been overplayed and I never listen to it anymore. But it's now part of my DNA and I really feel no need to. I know it forwards and backwards by heart.
1. In the Light 2. Bron-yr-Aur 3. Immigrant Song 4. When the Levee Breaks 5. Since I've Been Loving You 6. Going to California 7. The Rover 8. Moby Dick 9. Kashmir 10. Ten Years Gone

1) The Song Remains The Same 2) Kashmir 3) How Many More Times 4) When The Levee Breaks 5) Achilles Last Stand 6) Misty Mountain Hop 7) In My Time Of Dying 8) That’s The Way 9) Rock And Roll 10) Carouselambra This is the Listography I least agree with Kramzer. Normally, he and I have similar tastes. He didn't like "The Song Remains The Same," and that's my favorite. He loves "D'yer Mak'er," and that's my least favorite. Not a big fan of "Candy Store Rock." I actually ranked all of the songs not including Coda, and "Candy Store Rock" came in at 67 of 74. I do agree that this was incredibly difficult to rank. Any one of 23 songs was a Top 10 contender. Honorable Mention would have looked like this: 11) Immigrant Song 12) Stairway To Heaven 13) In The Light 14) Whole Lotta Love 15) The Battle Of Evermore 16) Trampled Underfoot 17) Ten Years Gone 18) The Rain Song 19) Over The Hills And Far Away 20) In The Evening 21) The Rover 22) Nobody’s Fault But Mine 23) Tangerine
Four missing songs IMO in no particular order: Thank You and What Is It What Should Never Be (from II) The Battle of Evermore (from IV) Over The Hills And Far Away (from ...Holy)
May be easier for me to rank my 10 least favorite Zep tunes than my 10 favorite, as of right now it would go this way: 10. The Rain Song 9. Good Times Bad Times 8. Trampled Under Foot 7. Gallows Pole 6. Achilles Last Stand 5. Fool In The Rain 4. Thank You 3. The Ocean 2. Whole Lotta Love 1. Immigrant Song
10. rain song 9. ten years gone 8. good times bad times 7. misty mountain hop 6. fool in the rain 5. moby dick 4. dazed and confused 3. houses of the holy 2. kashmir 1. what is and what should never be or ramble on

@@usmcfutball Jimmy Page has said it's his favourite album of their recordings and Achilles Last Stand also his favourite track so you can put that in your pipe and smoke it.
@@jesuschambers And a 'Happy Holidays' to you as well. At any given time Townshend was certainly proud of "It's Hard" and Sir Elton probably raved about "Blue Moves". Both albums are still genuinely subpar to the genius material that preceded it. Just...like...'Presence'. "So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains......"
1. Achilles Last Stand 2. The Rain Song 3. The Rover 4. The Song Remains The Same 5. Ten Years Gone 6. No Quarter 7. Stairway to Heaven 8. Over the Hills and Far Away 9. Since I've Been Loving You 10. Ramble On

Some bands just have such a seemingly endless well of creativity. There are bands that struggle to make a single memorable song over their entire career, and then you have bands like Zeppelin who deliver album after album of legendary stuff. A top 10 is so hard, but these are what I find myself coming back to again and again. 10. Dancing Days 9. Houses of the Holy 8. Whole Lotta Love 7. All of My love 6. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 5. Black Dog 4. The Rover 3. D'yer Mak'er 2. Over the Hills and Far Away 1. Kashmir
In The Light, Ramble On, Whole Lotta Love, Tangerine, When the Levee Breaks, Stairway, In the Evening, Houses of the Holy, That's the Way, and Seaside. Not in order.
Damn near impossible task, but here goes nothing: 10. "What is and What Should Never Be" 9. "Tangerine" 8. "Custard Pie" 7. "In the Light" 6. "The Ocean" 5. "Good Times Bad Times" 4. "When the Levee Breaks" 3. "Rain Song" 2. "No Quarter" 1. "Ten Years Gone"
Ten Years Gone That's the Way Good Time Bad Times Going to California Gallow's Pole When the Levee Breaks Stairway to Heaven For Your Life Fool in the Rain Kashmir
"List was recorded 7 months ago" I thought something was weird when one of y'all mentioned the 1969 album of the year video like it had just happened. Why did you all hold on to this one? Also Jason your video improved considerably in the 7 months. A new camera, a new computer? or is it just cause you are not streaming it to the others? Anyway my top 10: Hardly my favorite band so a lot singles. 10. Immigrant Song 9. Communication Breakdown - Kramzer is wrong. 8. Dancing Days 7. When the Levee Breaks 6. Black Dog - As much as I don't like Robert Plant...that iconic opening is amazing. 5. Going to California - would love it more if not for the bridge. 4. D'yer Mak'er 3. Rock N Roll 2. Stairway to Heaven - Nobody had the balls to put one of the most overplayed songs ever on their list? Still a a multi part epic that really is amazing. Far better than the other multipart overplayed song "Bohemian Rhapsody" 1. Over the Hills and Far Away - one of my all time favorite acoustic intros. Cool video as always guys.
Yeah...we like to keep episodes in reserve so that we can sometimes take an extra week to listen to larger discographies, or in this case, put a lot of effort into our 2020 video. And yeah, I recorded that on my phone and I usually use my laptop with zoom. However, the quality of zoom videos improved dramatically after their last update. -Jason

9. Bron-y-Aur Stomp (the pinnacle of Zep's quest to fuse delta blues with English folk)

HM - Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You; Bring It On Home; Immigrant Song; Houses of the Holy; Goin' to California; Fool in the Rain; What is and What Should Never Be (the chorus is the best part!)
10 - Achilles Last Stand

4 - Ramble On (unbelievably complex, plus Gollum, Mordor - can't go wrong)

3. No Quarter
2. When The Levee Breaks
1. Achilles Last Stand
The Rain Song is my favorite! Glad it got so much love!
All great choices and thankfully no one had Stairway on their list!
I'd Go With These 10
5. Achillies Last Stand- It's that damn good
4. The Immagrant Song (How The West Was Won Live Version)- Powerful
1 - Since I've Been Loving You
2 - Whole Lotta Love
3 - When The Levee Breaks
4 - Immigrant Song
5 - In My Time Of Dying
6 - Kashmir
7 - Thank You
8 - The Rain Song
9 - Trampled Underfoot
10 - Fool In The Rain
10. Thank You
9. In The Light
8. Rock And Roll
7. When The Levee Breaks
6. Nobody's Fault But Mine
5. Black Dog
4. In The Evening
3. Since I've Been Loving You
2. The Rover
1. Achilles Last Stand(For me, nothing comes close to this masterpiece)
10. Heartbreaker
9. In the Light
8. Over the Hills and Far Away
7. How Many More Times
6. The Lemon Song
5. Trampled Underfoot
4. No Quarter
3. The Wanton Song
2. Kashmir
1. When the Levee Breaks
Candy Store Rock!! Nice choice. Great tune.
Talk about spoiled for choice! We could have easily picked our top 30 or 40 songs without any reduction in overall quality. My choices are:
1. Kashmir
2. Stairway To Heaven
3. The Rain Song
4. Achilles Last Stand
5. Since I’ve Been Loving You
6. When The Levee Breaks
7. Babe I’m Gonna Leave You
8. The Battle Of Evermore
9. What Is And What Should Never Be
10. The Rover
Since 1979, when I was 10, Led Zeppelin has been my favorite band. Never eclipsed to this day. And never will be. They will be playing at my funeral. Yeah, I’m that dude. Ok here is my Top 10:
1) Stairway To Heaven
2) When The Levee Breaks
3) Ten Years Gone
4) Achilles Last Stand
5) Dazed And Confused
6) In My Time Of Dying
7) The Song Remains The Same
8) The Rain Song
9) Kashmir
10) Rock And Roll
You can easily put anything that is not in the top ten into one big #11 or honorable mention slot. It is easier than to list the few 5 or 6 tunes that I would leave out - mostly from the In Out Door album or Physical Graffiti (I do not consider Coda as a real album, it is just a collection of odds).
10. Celebration Day
9. Kashmir
8. Over the Hills and Far Away
7. Thank You
6. When the Levee Breaks
5. Immigrant Song
4. The Ocean
3. Whole Lotta Love
2. Battle of Evermore (The unforgettable Sandy Denny and Robert Plant, so sad they only did this one tune together)
1 "Tangerine"
2 "Fool in the Rain"
3 "Stairway to Heaven"
4 "Whole Lotta Love"
5 "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You"
6 "Ten Years Gone"
7 "Black Dog"
8 "The Rain Song"
9 "Hot Dog"
10 "Over the Hills and Far Away"
11 "Going to California"
12 "All My Love"
13 "D'yer Mak'er"
14 "Immigrant Song"
15 "Kashmir"
Really interesting list. I am 52 and don't know if I have ever listened to an LZ album all the way through. Like almost everything I've ever heard by them, but they were one of those bands that was everywhere--on the radio, at parties, in people's cars. I just never felt the need to buy one of their albums, but now I am feeling that hole in my musical education.
This is super tough ,and Im sure I will be kicking myself for leaving something great out after I send it;
10.Sick Again-(the closest to glam Zep ever got,it's awesome)
09.Carouselambra-(the closest to disco they got, this could actually get you on the dance floor,a JPJ triumph)
08.Hots on For Nowhere-(just so funky and fun)
07.Out on the Tiles-(a monster riff)
06.The Rover-(another monster riff)
05.Ramble On(the height of Plant's Tolkienism)
04.Achilles Last Stand-(Jimmy Page's best epic)
03.Since Iv'e Been Loving You-(the live version from MSG '73 in the SRTH movie is perfection)
02.The Rain Song-(just beautiful)
01.When The Levee Breaks-(the apotheosis of what Led Zep is all about.

6. When The Levee Breaks (Second best closer)
5. The Ocean (Best Closer and an absolutely mind-blowing guitar riff)
4. Ten Years Gone (Gives ballads a new name)
3. Stairway To Heaven (Deserves all the respect it gets)
2. In My Time Of Dying (11 Minutes of awesomeness!)
1. Achilles Last Stand (WOW!!!!!!!!!!)
1. Stairway to Heaven
2. Achilles Last Stand
3. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
4. Immigrant Song
5. D'yer Mak'er
6. Going to California
7. Ramble On
8. Friends
9. The Rover
10. No Quarter

5. Bring It On Home

7. Gallows Pole
8. Celebration Day
9. When The Levee Breaks
10. Living Loving Maid
You can't go wrong with any list when you're doing Zeppelin.
10. What Is And What Should Never Be
9. Ten Years Gone
8. When The Levee Breaks
7. Ramble On
6. Gallows Pole
5. Dazed And Confused
4. Black Dog
3. Immigrant Song
2. No Quarter
1. The Battle Of Evermore
Really cool top 10
can't put them in order beyond my #1 which is Black Dog.
Here are my other nine in chronological order.
Good Times Bad Times
Whole Lotta Love
Immigrant Song
Since I've Been Loving You
Custard Pie
The Rover
Kashmir
In The Light
Down By The Seaside
Is it coincidence that there are four album opening tracks here? Achilles Last Stand made the shortlist too but I couldn't reduce the quotion of songs from Physical Graffiti to below 50%. The only other two Zeppelin songs I have loaded on my phone are Communication Breakdown, Stairway to Heaven and the rest of Phys Graf.
My list is very very basic, but Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir etc. etc. are all-time classics for a reason.
10. In the Light (1975)
9. The Song Remains the Same (1973)
8. Down by the Seaside (1975)
7. Rock and Roll (1971)
6. Communication Breakdown (1969)
5. Whole Lotta Lova (1969)
4. D'yer Mak'er (1973)
3. Immigrant Song (1970)
2. Kashmir (1975)
1. Stairway to Heaven (1971)
Steve Harris from Iron Maiden and the "gallopy thing", one of his favourite bands was Nektar and the whole gallopy thing comes from the song "King Of Twilight", that's why Maiden covered it as a B side.
10) Custard Pie
09) Out on the Tiles
08) For Your Life
07) Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid (She''s Just a Woman)
06) In My Time of Dying
05) The Battle of Evermore
04) Black Dog
03) The Rover
02) When the Levee Breaks
01) Stairway to Heaven
Page & Plant didn't like "Living Loving Maid," they thought it was filler. I don't think they ever played it live. I disagree with them, of course.
@@AbbeyRoadkill1 choosing Zep favs was a rather ridiculous exercise, for me anyway. So many killer songs that choosing 10 is just overwhelming.
@@179rich Yep. I was able to get it down to 20-25 relatively easily... reducing it to 10 was like pulling teeth.
Custard Pie is rad

As one of the greatest rock bands of all time, every song in Led Zeppelin's catalogue could be argued to be some kind of classic by now, or at least essential to the canon, so any top-ten list will be on target regardless of the titles chosen. The following are ten that are particularly meaningful to me, listed in alphabetical order by title:
--"All My Love" (touching testament of pure, enduring love)
--"Down by the Seaside" (one of the most unusual tracks by the band, quirky and memorable)
--"Fool in the Rain" (really exciting Latin flair to this late effort)
--"Going to California" (a favorite among favorites, possibly the single most beautiful song the group ever produced)
--"No Quarter" (one of the eeriest songs in all of rock, Led Zeppelin's spookiest utterance)
--"The Rain Song" (rhythmically gentle and lilting, a perfect sonic evocation of rain and the moods it engenders)
--"Ramble On" (good early example of the band's rocking, bluesy sound wedded to mystical, fantasy-laden imagery)
--"Stairway to Heaven" (remains the single most iconic song in the group's output, a true classic that will be revisited as long as rock is appreciated)
--"Ten Years Gone" (moody and reflective ruminations on lost time)
--"Thank You" (simple, lovely declaration of sincere sentiment)

Top 4 is side 3 of Physical Graffiti, their finest moment.
Reggae
@@oppothumbs1 haters gonna hate. I can't help them, but they can go screw themselves, imo.

How Many More Times easily my number 1.
Again, my taste in Zeppelin mirrors Joe's. We have two or three songs in our top ten in common. I would've also had Hey, Hey, What Can I Do? but it just misses the top ten for me. It's definitely a top fifteen for me.
My Top Ten Led Zeppelin Songs:
1. When The Levee Breaks (What Zeppelin fan doesn't like this song?! C'mon?)
2. Nobody's Fault But Mine (It's rock & blues at it's finest.)
3. Over The Hills and Far Away (It's gorgeous, atmospheric and one of their best acoustic tracks.)
4. Immigrant Song (It's loud and Robert Plant makes sounds that are barely human-like😊)
5. Traveling Riverside Blues (I love the slide guitar.)
6. Heartbreaker (What an amazing riff.)
7. The Ocean (It's pure rock-n-roll fun.)
8. In The Evening (I love the dark and sexy mood brewing under the surface.)
9. Fool In The Rain (It's a tour de force and Jimmy Page's guitar solo takes it over the top for me.)
10. Ramble On, Whole Lotta Love & Kashmir (I originally had only Ramble On but, I love all three songs equally. So, I'm undecided on which to keep.)
Runners-Up: Hey, Hey, What Can I Do?, Rock and Roll, Four Sticks and The Wanton Song

Love Joe’s list!
Stairway To Heaven is number one period.
Admittedly I haven't listened to it in 20 years, but like most music I loved in my teens, it's been overplayed and I never listen to it anymore. But it's now part of my DNA and I really feel no need to. I know it forwards and backwards by heart.
It’s great. But it’s not the best.
@@TastesLikeMusic Just the second best song of all time, IMHO :D
@TowelyTolstoiHRO IMHO, "School" by Supertramp.

4) When The Levee Breaks
5) Achilles Last Stand
6) Misty Mountain Hop
7) In My Time Of Dying
8) That’s The Way
9) Rock And Roll
10) Carouselambra
This is the Listography I least agree with Kramzer. Honorable Mention would have looked like this:
11) Immigrant Song
12) Stairway To Heaven
13) In The Light
14) Whole Lotta Love
15) The Battle Of Evermore
16) Trampled Underfoot
17) Ten Years Gone
18) The Rain Song
19) Over The Hills And Far Away
20) In The Evening
21) The Rover
22) Nobody’s Fault But Mine
23) Tangerine
Four missing songs IMO in no particular order: Thank You and What Is It What Should Never Be (from II) The Battle of Evermore (from IV) Over The Hills And Far Away (from ...Holy)
May be easier for me to rank my 10 least favorite Zep tunes than my 10 favorite, as of right now it would go this way:
10. The Rain Song
9. Good Times Bad Times
8. Trampled Under Foot
7. Gallows Pole
6. Achilles Last Stand
5. Fool In The Rain
4. Thank You
3. The Ocean
2. Whole Lotta Love
1. Immigrant Song
Levee is ny current favorite. Heaviest song of the decade thanks to Bonzo
10. rain song
9. ten years gone
8. good times bad times
7. misty mountain hop
6. fool in the rain
5. moby dick
4. dazed and confused
3. houses of the holy
2. kashmir

Zeppelin IV = Stairway
Houses Of The Holy = The Ocean
Physical Graffiti = Trampled Under Foot
Presence = (none)
In Through The Out Door = Carouselambra
Honorable Mention = Misty Mountain Hop
Achilles Last Stand?
@@TastesLikeMusic No sir. That album never happened. BTW...thank you very much for this 'Led Zeppelin Christmas'. Happy New Year guys!
Ah, someone else who shares my low opinion of Presence... I do love "Achilles," though.
The biggest shocker is none of you guys selected Over the Hills and Far Away.

Some bands just have such a seemingly endless well of creativity. There are bands that struggle to make a single memorable song over their entire career, and then you have bands like Zeppelin who deliver album after album of legendary stuff. A top 10 is so hard, but these are what I find myself coming back to again and again.

10. Immigrant Song
9. Communication Breakdown - Kramzer is wrong.
8. Dancing Days
7. When the Levee Breaks
6. Black Dog - As much as I don't like Robert Plant...that iconic opening is amazing.
5. Going to California - would love it more if not for the bridge.
4. D'yer Mak'er
3. Rock N Roll
2. Stairway to Heaven - Nobody had the balls to put one of the most overplayed songs ever on their list? Still a a multi part epic that really is amazing. Far better than the other multipart overplayed song "Bohemian Rhapsody"
1. Over the Hills and Far Away - one of my all time favorite acoustic intros.
Cool video as always guys.
We wanted to hold on to a big name artist. And Zeppelin was an easier one for us to do. So we banked it for a special time. - Joe
-Jason
