    Loved Brit since Another Earth. So cool to see how her career has evolved!

    • @SCharlesDennicon
      @SCharlesDennicon 10 месяцев назад +2

      Meh... it hasn't evolved that much. I too discovered her with Another Earth, and I remember thinking, back in the mid-2010's, Jesus, Another Earth, Sound of My Voice, The East, I Origins, that chick is gonna be unavoidable in the indie world... then not much happened. The first season of The OA was good and intriguing but went nowhere interesting, and it kept Marling away from cinema for years... then nothing for years... and that new Murder At the End of the World series doesn't look very entertaining.

      *EVERY TIME* someone is praised for their work, someone *ɅLWɅYS(!!!)* appears, just out of nowhere, like you, to belittle their journeys, no matter how much quality they have or how successful they are. That's what you're doing here about her. *BRIT MɅRLING* is someone who is certainly happy in her work, and making more money, in the last twenty years, than the two of us together would make in ten lifetimes of a century each. She is an actress, screenwriter, producer and director. If that's not evolving a lot, I don't know what evolution actually means.
      Juz' stop.

    if anyone is curious, the films that Brit picked out that she’s holding at about 4:02 that were not mentioned/talked about in the video are:
    WORKING GIRLS (dir. Lizzie Borden)
    THELMA AND LOUISE (dir. Ridley Scott)
    MICHAEL HANEKE: TRILOGY (dir. Michael Haneke)
    the fourth one she is holding is BLOOD SIMPLE (dir. Coen Brothers), which was talked about in the video.

    I have been watching these videos for long time and really like it. One thing is super annoying though when we don't know what movie they are talking about and it has happened in many other videos too. Guests will pick up a movie and will say 'oh this one....' and just start talking about it without showing it to the camera or mentioning the title. so one simple solution is, you can add poster with little info on screen for each moments when guests pick the movies (regardless of if title is mentioned by them or not, i know all titles come in the end but it's not that fun by then).

    The East
    Another Earth
    Sound of My Voice
    I have not seen their newest collaboration.
    I found it so refreshing to see films with some depth that didn't get bogged down in female sexuality. Yes, it's totally realistic to have beautiful women in a film and not depend on their sensuality and give them some intellectual dimensions outside of such. I use her films as models for my own ideas and writing.
    This was a pleasant surprise.
