Tonight at PS22's 11th Annual Winter Concert, the children of the PS22 Chorus of 2011 got the surprise of a lifetime from Anne Hathaway & Bruce Cohen. 'Nuff said -- just watch and see!

Although it was AMAZING what they did for the 5th graders, the 4th graders also performed and they weren't even acknowledged.
My little brother is in the 4th grade chorus & he said they thought they were going too but when they found out they weren't, they cried. ....I did too!
(I lost my fkn mind when Anne walked down the aisle. I LOVE her!)

COOOOOOOL! they're so excited!!!! :-DDD When things like this happen I always think about the one kid who 'can't' go... because of unforeseen circumstances (I was that kid several times). If there is one kid who can't go on this trip - I hope they get to have a really really really super cool consolation gift given to them (plus t-shirts with their face on, on the night). But, no jinx, fingers crossed all goes well :) I can't wait!! Will be watching on TV :-D (even in the UK we see the Oscars)

AWESOME! Watching kids from my hometown get a chance of a lifetime is amazing. I literally teared up. NYC public school funding tends to cut the arts first. It is so important to make sure kids have music, art, dance, drama, etc in schools. It is such a shame watching some schools not to far away from PS22 that don't get the chance this wonderful kids have.

Choir teachers rule! I wish I had them when I was a kid. Maybe I woulda been more serious with my vocals in class. Great to be gifted with all your efforts.
I'm even more jealous of these kids now. I think I'll go back in time and join this chorus because my music teachers back in elementary and middle school were so rude.

Just came to this page and began reading all the comments. The type of attitude exhibited from the people that posted negative comments is exactly the reason this teacher and this choir are so outstanding. Since when is it a bad thing for children to be able to express themselves openly without fear of retribution and reproach? Kids who were never allowed this opportunity grow in to the types of adults who criticize everything. Why shouldn't their example be applauded and highlighted?

@FANNYPAkKiD 5th grade chorus is where the magic starts to happen. Your brother is still one of the luckiest kids on this planet because he probably has got a whole year of 5th grade chorus still ahead of him. Although the Oscars will obviously be hard to top, he can rest assured that there'll be plenty of experiences most kids can only dream of.
