Wow them pliers look amazing 👍 Hey I have a 🚨 request 🚨 When I discovered your channel I went back and watched a lot of your older videos. You have one where you did a partial shop tour. I would love to see a complete one Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
Really like how the Klein Koats set off the tool. I have a old pair I need to restore and add them to it. I am going to show your video to my son. He has bar like yours from his grandpa and it might make a good project for him. You always amaze me with the flap disc. I hadn't been doing very good with them. But I tried again and getting better. Stay safe and healthy my friend. Thanks
ScoutCrafter taught me to oil my rivets, I never knew why my pliers were so tight until Scout came into my life...........Now every pair of Linesman, Needle-Nose, Side Cutters or anything else with that type of rivet just falls open now.
I see your name pop up in the comments of virtually all of the RUclips channels I watch. Apparently if we have very similar taste. Do you have a channel? What part of the world are you in?
@@jpsimon206 Yes I always try to leave a comment for support, some of the smaller channels get so few comments I always like to let them know someone is watching.........Of course Scout has really grown in the past few years and gets plenty of comments now...............No I don't have a tool channel and I'm in Michigan.

Mr. John the little advertisement crow bar is right up my alley! I love tools like that! They look fantastic! My new favorite segment of your video is now the testing of the steel! Enjoyed it! Any worries with using water to loosen the grips causing rust? I have never installed grips like that before...and to be honest i have never installed grips on any tool.. thank ya sir
You sir continue to be the measurement standard to witch I judge others! Not fair I know. Everyone else must up there game! Well done as always. Thank you.
I have a pair of Kreuter 1801-7 Industrial linesman pliers that I did in your restoration method about 2 yrs ago. I put klein coats on them then and they look great. They came from my grandfathers tool box. He retired from Republic Aircraft in Farmingdale LI NY. My neighbor is a Local 3 electrician and he puts klein coats on when the original handles get bad. I think Kreuter tools were sold by Lafayette Radio Electronics (long gone) both through the catalog and at the store in Syosset NY. I see them from time to time at garage sales around here .I usually buy what I find. I have slip joint pliers, long nose pliers and diagonal cutters .
I'm happy to see those pliers in the limelight, they deserve it. Nothing like a hefty linesman pliers, particularly with the added thickness on the handles. WOW!!! Great job preserving the clean facets. I'm going to keep practicing and maybe I'll be able to restore a pair like you do.
It reminds me as you show the Klein Cable Splicer's knife that Klein's lineman's pliers used to have handle covers like that translucent red scales on the knife. When I first started working as an electrician's helper in the mid 1970s all the electricians' Klein lineman's pliers had those translucent red handle covers. No doubt on the advertising bar it was supposed t be Co Op or cooperative Lumber.
That pry-bar is what we'd call a cat's paw... because of its looks. Ours didn't have the crook, and was much shorter at that end making it the go to tool for pulling nails in a corner/ right angle. Nothing else would fit! Good job!
Love it. I leave the cleaned rust pits and dings. Almost as a show of age and its life. To each his own. Love that ring. Used to do that to my Dads saw blades. Such a beautiful ring.
I have a pry bar like that. It was my Grandfather's he would have been about 125. I've always thought it was a small "crowbar" that had been heated and bent. I've never seen another til yours. Mine has no advertising, but I am from the midwest, and Grandpa was a farmer. I got it out and cleaned and oiled it up, I couldn't touch it beyond that. I will use it when needed.
Those Klein Koats are so nice looking. Really dressed up those already beautiful lineman pliers. And that little pry bar. Don’t you love it. What an awesome way to get your businesses name out there. Wish they still did things like that. But obviously not cost effective
The word coop is short for cooperative. We have these in rural areas for service and hardware suppliers, and others for crops. The tools cleaned up great. I know you like Klein Koats from earlier videos. Glad they could also be used on the Kreuters because they look beautiful, and are also very practical.
CO-OP in my Hometown was where the farmers would bring their corn and soybeans in and they had huge grain bins the co-op could get a better price for the grain then the average farmer could Most grain was shipped out on the railroad .We still have the same places with different names and the trains come through and can be pulling 100 + cars
so I checked out ebay and found crowbar from a bank in New Jersey, the rest are from the midwest and around $20, except for one guy wants $100 plus shipping. I guess since it was featured on the Scoutcrafter channel it has gone up in value??? Love the old advertising tools!!
Beauty job on those tools as usual. That pry bar was a real deluxe promotional item. Around here they might have given you a stir stick or if you were lucky maybe a yard stick.
I loved the pliers. Klein coats are not available here unless you order them in and with USA shipping “tax” makes them worth more than the tool. Other companies should make them as they finish off the tool beautifully. Thanks for the video and as “Raw Bacon” said, thanks for teaching us to oil our rivets.
Co-Op not Coop. Crooks COOP as in Cooperative.😂 Crooks SD is a small town just north of Sioux Falls SD, I have relatives in the area. The Klein-Koats look good on the Kraeuters for sure.
Have you ever tried to cut down a worn flap disc? Just sitting here wondering if using a trepanning tool on the lathe would work. Obviously the tool would get worn very quickly, but that might serve to sharpen it?
Thanks, now I have to track down one of those little advertising crowbars. -) After you clean up the tool, how do you protect them from rust. Do you use some shellac or just wax or some other treatment. I have a pair of Klein 6 linesman's pliers from WWII with the same grips which were added by me in the 70s. It's part of a US Army Signal Corps set that came in a leather pouch with a Klein barlow style knife.
Did you like the slow motion flag action at the end of the video? When I was just at the fair, they had an enormous flag. Did you ever notice how when a really big flag is flying, it looks like its in slow motion? 😀👍
