    I had a chance to test drive one of these at a local indy lot about a year ago - didn't know much about its backstory at the time, but afterwards I did more research online and learned just how special this generation XRS really is. When I called the dealer back a couple days later the car had sold. I regret missing the opportunity.

    Last week I bought one in good condition but battered by the sun and time, I am in the process of putting it in good shape, as you say they are rare and those who believe it is just a corolla are wrong

    2nd Gen of the xrs is more forgotten. 1st Gen is the 🐐

    I wish toyota made more high revving engine options.

    I owned one of these! 06 xrs in phantom grey, I left the Honda game to experiment with this platform it was fun I had it r9k tuned giving some k series a run for their money, the car definitely surprised a lot of people cause they thought it was a regular Corolla but the transmissions are like glass once you start to add power they almost always break and the parts to upgrade this car to improve performance cost wayyyyy to much for so little power gains which it why I sold my xrs a few years back and got back into the Honda game with the money I spend on that car I could of just built a k series hatch and ran laps around my xrs lol so with that being said good luck with the platform in the future if you find an XRS and hopefully you have some deep pockets

      Great to know that the transmissions are a little weak! I seem to have a kink for the more obscure stuff, so I probably will see one in my future lol.

    I own 2, love these cars. One mostly stock, other moded pretty heavily. It's like night and day how differently they perform per the mods but yes it was expensive.

    May there be another Corolla XRS soon,
    this time, with a proper engine it deserves,
    a 2.5L Dual-VVTi with 209 HP and a proper 6spd manual

    Dog you listened to me when I said you need to do my other car. You can tell by the rims and the grill is color matched. My wife basically has made it her daily driver. Oh yeah the parts are hard to find . Secondary air injection pump and valve are only available in Kentucky at a toyota dealership. It took me almost a year to find parts and my inspection was due and I finally found both parts. It runs like a champ and faster than you think. I raced my wife with my CL type s 6 speed and she almost embarrassed me. It's on my channel but I don't think you ever been on my channel

    • @SteffanJohal
      @SteffanJohal  11 месяцев назад +1

      Ahaha, bro I've been on your channel don't worry!! That's a sick daily for your wife, I hope she knows that.

      @@SteffanJohal man stop playing. She calls it the ugly little car. She only likes it because it's a 6 speed and fast. When I went to buy it she refused to drive it home for me because I didn't even know what it was. I googled it and went on RUclips and was like oh snap this thing is rare. A lady owned it. Heavy smoker. It was her daily for driving as insurance agent. AC quit so she wanted to sell it. Got her down by a few hundred bucks but she didn't mention the secondary air injection pump and valve. I almost sold it when I couldn't find the parts and inspection was due. Sat on google for months trying to find parts. I got lucky and found place in Kentucky. Only place in US that I could find. If someone else knows a place I would be shocked because I couldn't find those two parts. Soon as it got fixed... my wife hasn't parked it since. Ugly little car that she low key probably loves🤣

    • @SteffanJohal

      Damn it definitely ain't no ugly little car! I really was on the hunt for one this year!

      @@SteffanJohal I knew I had something different when I saw video on RUclips but my wife just doesn't get it. She sees the S models and thinks it's the same.i told her of you drove one you would tell the difference. I wish I had time to do something with it but it's on the back burner behind the acuras unfortunately. I just hope no one wrecks it or she does. Oh yeah what sealed the deal was it had brand new clutch with paperwork so it was worth the trouble. It runs good. Real generic compared to acura but still cool to drive. High revving lil monster
