    Yes I like this video. Close the stance. Bend the knee, rotate the hips. For maximum efficiency on a swing, you should mention that the shoulders must also rotate in syncrony with the line (velocity) of impact.
    If you do not, then you will have a nasty case of tennis elbow, as energy does not transfer to the legs. Vertical motion is difficult to describe; as your spine must also flex.

    Holding the cane upside down gives the punch more weight, but isn't it easier to grab for the opponent and easier to loose?

    • @OliverJanseps
      @OliverJanseps  Месяц назад

      @@mrzero222 yes if the cane is grabbed by an opponent he would be on the better end to pull.
      But imho, if your cane gets grabbed something went 'wrong' already. Don't waste time wrestling for the stick, let go and go immediately unarmed!
      Bit that's just my thoughts 😉

    Love ❤ the way you explode in your riposte 👍 also that you are sparring 😀 you never disappoint! I'll try to be more like a spring myself (I'm very stiff). By the way with a stick, cane, I would not put the point in front, there is no blade, so the risk of it being grabbed is higher, I would use the "hanging guard" also I would like you to have your hand about were the head is,or higher. Finally, Lang, uses the muscles of the left arm for additional protection to the inside. Would love to 👀 see your take on the flip and flick. Cheers

      @@peterjaimez1619 glad you like it and good objections. They are not wrong at all.
      I decided to have a more canonical way on the material and we found different other kinds of positions in the articles. Lang is a way more precise in what he wants and what not!
      We do not really know what of what he thaught is influenced from Indian stick practise and what is canne Vigny, so I decided to have an extra look on Lang for it's own in the future.
      But of course we cannot get around his book for an Bartitsu lesson 🙂

    By the way I'm using a crook cane, a trainer made with a foil, or a stick, I don't have the advantage of the "mace" in front to bludgeon, hit, but i have better control of my stick. Cheers

      Then this "technique" doesn't work and you have to do something else 🙃
