- We show you everything you need to know to have the best draft every time in GM Mode on WWE 2K23. Each draft usually takes me 15-30 minutes as I analyze and figure out the best play in each situation.

You are underrating specialist. Specialist can match with any class so they are much needed for rotating rivalries. They also keep things fresh & fun. IMO you can use 2 specialist 1 heel & 1 face to rotate rivalries per male & female. If they have good mic they can start rivalries easily too.
Specialists are the worst in matchups. Cruiser vs Giant gets a 5-star match-up rating, Bruiser vs Fighter gets 4-star, Specialist vs any other type gets 3.5 star. They definitely have their place but that's why you leave them until later in the draft or pick up 1-2 from free agents/Legends if needed :)
@@WrestlingLobby I have gotten 5 Stars with specialist. The are many other factors for match ratings. For example rivalry level, what are their match specialty, match type, star rating, place on card, power cards, etc.
Yeah, it's possible! I'm talking about the game's match-up rating, not match rating (small difference!). It's a hard-coded rating for every class match-up and the rating for each type is visible in the game in the post-fight report.
@Classic Retros23 most of my picks are specialists because future planning is so easy. Also, if you get one or two specialists who are high on popularity (Rollins, Rhodes, Zayn, Styles are always my go tos) they are so good to be a headline act when needed but also, slot into mud card and pair with a low popularity person for a feud and build up the lesser stars popularity. Also, it's ok to have 3 star ush feuds because you need a mid card, and you need the flow to be right, if all your feuds are 5 star, then what happens if the main eventers have an off day, wrong curve for your show.
Thanks for this tutorial I haven’t played a wrestling game since Smackdown I think like 7 or 8 years ago. Friend got me into this game I got sucked into myGM mode. I’m starting out with NXT 2.0 to be different. But the tips in the video will really help me out. I’m also going start a save in myUniverse mode and create my own CAW.

What i think sucks is all the decent wrestlers... names... famous faces dont get used and its like i play the game to play my fav wrestlers not to use someone because its the only way to win.

Hey, i know you reccomeded 14 superstars for hard difficulty, but what about easy and medium, with their being less promos and matches as opposed to hard mode

GM is EXTREMELY HARD on ALL DIFFICULTIES. The key to GM MODE I figured out is to BUY BIG ARENA's every single week, so that you get alot of money. From there its a stamina game. Have wrestlers fight, call out & REPEAT. JUST HAVE THEM FIGHT THEN CALL OUT. Buy free agents when you can't book anyone & just use them TO FILL UP EMPTY SPACES. DO NOT PUT YOUR TIME IN THESE PPL. FOCUS ON CONSTANTLY BOOKING YOUR TOP I'd say 3 wrestlers if not as many as you can. MAKE SURE THEIR POPULARITY STAYS UP BY KEEPING THEM ACTIVE, like PROMOS CALL OUTS, MATCHES. DO NOT LET THEM DROP POPULARITY. IGNORE THE REST OF THEM JUST FAVOR LIKE 3 wrestlers. POPULAR gives you easy high star matches, meaning you don't have to do too much to them. MAKE SURE YOU BUY EVENT CARDS ( SAVE them for PLE's ) basically just CASHOUT EVERYTHING at the PLE's and have your popular superstars fight on the OPENER MATCH & ENDER. Let the build up wrestlers fight mid. And just REPEAT. Do Not Worry about being in LAST PLACE. EVERYONE IS IN LAST PLACE UNTIL AFTER THE PLE's. Also what EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, DO THE CHALLENGE TROPHY TASKS. Either right away to get them out the way so you can focus, or STRATEGICALLY. Fight Giants with Cruisers/ Bruisers with Strikers, SPECIALTY are back up replacements for your missing opponent. I recommend ALL MEN 1 way like just Giants & Cruisers or BRUISERS & STRIKERS, then the women all GIANTS & CRUISERS or BRUISERS & STRIKERS. Thats GM MODE
so you could just make 50% giants 50% the other one, and Draft would be very fun !
This post is all you need to do, especially if your'e taking NXT2.0 and Tyler.
Set the budget to the lowest possible (2.5m), I know that sounds hard but the AI are dumb even on hard, they'll blow all their cash very fast and not have the money to book shows properly in the early game.
Your targets are
1.) Miz (Cheapest specialist with 5* Mic Skills)
2.) Bliss (Only women cruiser with 5* Mic Skills)
3.) Dewdrop (Highest Mic Skills on female Giant)
4.) Truth (Only 5* Mic Skills on a Male Fighter)
5.) Boogs (Cheapest 5* Mic Skills on a Bruiser)
6.) Azeez (Highest Mic Skills on a Male Giant)
7.) Escobar (Cheapest/Highest Mic Skills on a male Cruiser)
8.) Zelina (4* Mic Skills on a cheap cruiser)
9.) Hartwell (Cheap specialist with 3* Mic Skills)
You only want 9, which is the absolute minimum and if you miss out on some of these or they don't appear, pick up cheapies like LA Knight, Shotzi, Chance or Carter.
The point is, you're leaving yourself with over $1million, which is a major advantage for the following reasons:
1.) Often, your Season Objectives will be "Reach $300k", "Reach $400k", "Reach $600k"... Well good news, you've already ticked all 3 of them off and now you have 3 extra power cards. Other objectives include "Buy all 3 power cards before a show" and "Use all 3 power cards before a show"... with the cash you have, you'll find those easy to knock off, same with the "Book 8 shows with Charity Promos" and "Spend $100k on Promo" objectives. .
2.) The NXT2.0 Perk lets you buy 3 free agents for half price. Quite often you see two or three major stars in the store at the same time be it Cody, Edge, Ripley, etc. That would have cost you around 800k, it's now cost you around 400k and you still have $600+ to run the show.
3.) By having so much money, you can afford to keep picking up stamina Power Cards and Contract Power cards, which drastically reduce the cost of top tier icons. You might see a 4 week Contract Extension for $30k in the store, that could save you $100k, down the road.
4.) By having so much money, you can afford Icons which have higher popularity (and other bonuses) than the roster. I recommend sticking to the 10 week options. If you take a 5 week option, you might not have enough time to come across the Contract Extension cards and you'll gain the headache of renewing contracts with big demands.
5.) Raid the Enhancement Talent. Look specifically for those with 3+ mic skills, there's around 5 or 6 who show up regularly. Flood your roster with them to keep your stamina in check and because it can be quite fun to turn a jobber into the most popular star. You have tons of cash and these are super cheap, plus their low rating makes it really easy to get the show quality curve right.
6.) Logistic Improvements... In the first season, there are tons of improvements to buy such as arenas, advertising, etc. By keeping a huge amount of cash back at the start, you'll always be able to buy those upgrades the instant they are available. The AI on the other hand will struggle and that's when you start opening up giant leads.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun to book guys like Brock Lesnar but why would you spend $280k on a 3* Mic Skill Bruiser, when you can spend $160k on Boogs with 5* Mic Skills or even $140k on LA Knight with 4* Mic Skills. You can sign Scott Hall and LA Knight, for the cost of Brock Lesnar and if you pair them together for a feud, by your first PPV, you'll have a 4* Mic Skills LA Knight with huge popularity, where as Brock will never get 5* Mic Skills (without getting really lucky with the shake up cards).

with NXT 2.0 you should be saving about $400k back and pick up 3 free agents straight away

It is very easy to win this mode. The challenge is keeping it fun.
I love my GM Mode. I got the entire bloodline and they all champions on smackdown. Solo is the intercontinental champion and I been beating raw 3 weeks straight. I learned to have all titles on the line at the beginnin and don't worry about the second or third match. I even took John Cena away from Raw and man after the first PPV I will be adding more.
Does having a variety of classes on a show matter? Or can we just have all cruiser/giant rivalries?

Stamina is random for all stars.
If you always go for classes you will not have fun in gm mode although you win it is always fun to use the wrestler you like the most the best way i do is change everyone to specialist so the star rating is not a problem......
I have more fun winning than I do using certain wrestlers, it's all a matter of preference :) although Universe Mode is there for those that just want storylines

what i do is set everyone to specialist because just like real wwe someone like seth rollins a fighter would have a great match against someone like gunther which is considered a giant so to make it fair you can have great matchups if you set everyone to specialist to make it more realistic that’s what i do

@@Temperance_XVII If you want to book whoever you want to against each other, go play Universe Mode. You'll have much more creative control in that game mode. GM mode fits well as a strategy game mode imo, and should lean more into that.

10:33- I already have a bunch of questions so far just in this one video! But I’ll just ask a few right now…………. So I’ve been watching a different channel with two guys playing this mode again each other and they do 1 video for each “week” in the game! Now I’ve noticed that a few wrestlers were already talking about their contract expiring soon by week 3!?! How do you find out how much more time someone’s contract actually has before drafting them? And I guess that WWEs draft is really NOTHING like a normal draft. So why doesn’t the price of each wrestler go down depending on the round in the draft? And is there any wrestlers that depending on which company drafts them would determine how hard they will work or how much they don’t even want to be there?
So like I said before, those are just a few of of the questions I already have. But maybe the other ones might make more sense for me to ask later on in this video or in one of the rest of the videos in this playlist!?!
what if the people i select like a dou drop and iyo sky, and they get like 1.5 stars? i always select a good bruiser and fighter and they always only get like 1.5-2.5 stars
That's just what happens when you put average popularity stars with 0 rivalry into a match type that doesn't have good match bonuses (e.g. normal, tables)
Build up the rivalry and they won't be delivering 1.5 stars

I hate this years Gm mode because how frequently injuries happen. I put Bianca belair in a normal match with 48 stamina and she got injured for 6 weeks
Did Mick Foley use his power card on you for that to happen? Stamina only decreases by 1 in a Normal match and injuries can only happen with sub-40 stamina, as far as I've ever seen anyway.
@@WrestlingLobby no there were no power cards used on me, but I e had 5 week injuries from normal matches with 35+ stamina a month straight and it fucked my ppv over. I quit after that

The logic used to win in this game doesn't even apply to real life WWE They have cruiserweights versus cruiser versus cruisers and big guys versus big guys
So disappointed that this class stuff is back again really ruins GM mode. Just make it heel vs face.

People consistently overestimate the difference class synergy makes to match score. It's probably because Triple H calls you out for using low synergy stars - players seem to think, "Oh, well, I guess I should never do that". But it's really just about optimizing - it's perfectly possible to have great matches between lower synergy pairings (well, maybe not giant-giant); it's just slightly harder. The actual overall score difference between using e.g. bruiser-bruiser vs a bruiser-fighter pairing of similar popularity and rivalry is around 5%. So, yeah, paying attention to synergy helps if you want to optimize the score in all your scoring categories. But some people seem to think you can't get a good match rating with a low synergy pairing, which is simply not true.
@KaitainCPS correct, we're always looking for the best, optimal plays in order to consistently win and beat the toughest challenges. You can still have good ratings and win as the game is very easy.

What to do with legends?
I rarely sign them personally. If you know you want to sign one, just draft one less superstar or keep slightly more money back from your draft (around $230,000).
Theres only 3 female giants, 2 faces and 1 heel. Theres tons of fighters, bruisers, and specialists for both the womens and mens division, though for the women theres a lot of fighters and cruisers. The draft roster in my opinion isnt the best for the way the game is programmed to work in my opinion. I think Bruisers v fighters should be the most popular followed by the cruisers v. Giants and then specialists but that just my thought.
The fact you can’t make a custom show in this mode makes me sad
Yeah it's kind of ridiculous. You can't have a Royal rumble you can't have a war games. GM mode gets stale very quickly You can't even have three ways and four ways for the title. What's up with that?

If i had the ability and blessing to start my own fed, and ran it around Commander FRIGGIN Azeez and goddamn SHANKY, and i could ONLY pair them against twerps, rather than having the proverbial "big beefy men slappin beef off each other in the ring in the battle of the beefy boys," id just close up shop before it opened and instantly do a 180 to the ballet or something.
These 14 guys have their fans, some of them i absolutely like...
But im gonna go ahead and put myself on a limb made of steel and say that for long time wrestling fans, the thought of running their own 14 man promotion is a dream that would never, ever include 11 out of these 14--- generously!

Its paingully obvious the developers are 99% gamers and computer peeps, and not wrestling fans.
I could list 10 thing just off the top of my head thatd make this game exponentially better, and probably increase sales, while making sure the WRESTLING FAN (ya knoe, 90% of the game's target base??) is damn near COMPLETELY satisfied!

the stamina is random and is just a starting rating. It doesn't mean they're only 50% good at not tiring out, it just means they need a rest before they start appearing in lots of matches
