Let me guess the engine didn’t turn up on Wednesday or batteries, you two deserve a medal for your patience, I really do hope they come through for you, always the good guys that suffer! Good luck!
@@TerryArmstrong-j1w it is a very trying time but we have to keep positive 🤞
In the early 80's I think they were called ' Liverpool Boat Builders' - they were like the British Leyland of the 70's - cheap and cheerfull, but there are still many Liverpool boats around, as they produced so many. I had one for a few years and it was ok, but I was a leisure boater. Might have been better getting a used Piper boat as your first liveaboard. Good luck with it
@@ocean686 Funnily enough we were just discussing this with Jamie last week and It wasn’t Aintree that used to be them but Collingwood. (Maybe). Thanks for your good wishes
Hi guys, we are so sorry to watch this, this should be an exciting time for you both, but its almost like you are dreading going down there. Hopefully you will have no more set backs . Best wishes Lee & Ali
@@leealibuildingtheblackswan2098 hi, to be honest we expected the boat to be further along by now and hopefully be on the water, we are just keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t experience the delays that others have. We just keep going every week so that they will get sick of us and get us out of there quickly 😁. We have watched a lot of other boat builds and it does seem that they all take around the same time to complete, I think our expectations were a little unrealistic
@Narrowboat-photography we are coming up to 3 years now! But we are doing it ourselves. You will be out there by the spring im sure x
@@leealibuildingtheblackswan2098 that is one of the main reasons we wanted to buy one completed. Duncan could quite easily of done the whole build and done a really good job of it but I didn't want him to take on all that stress 🥴
Aintree boats have let a lot of customers down There is another narrowboat channel that has been waiting for two years to have his boat finnished. How come Aintree are having problems with engines when Lee & Ali Building the black swan ordered thier Beta Marine engine from Crick Boat show, delivered 3 months later?? I think Aintree over extended themselves with orders.
We agree 👍
Hi Duncan, Hi Jo
It is interesting to hear that you have a few issues with Aintree. Another boater, Lorna Jane, had Fox Glove built by Aintree. She had problems with getting her boat built on time and then having the discrepancy list addressed to her satisfaction. Call it customer service if you wish.
We are now in October and one would hope that you are on the water by now.
Once Wey Aye Man is in the water you will belong to a very close knit community who will greet you warmly and always willing to help if possible.
Looking forward to the next video. Stay warm.

@@markrant1460 Hi Mark
Nope, not yet on the water but hopefully very soon. Just finished a walk along the Shropshire Union this morning and we can’t wait to be part of the community 🤞
Hey you two,
Forgot to mention that I loved the shot of the cows in the water lol. Something says that the farmer has a hole in the fence somewhere.

@@markrant1460 it cheered us up too 😀
Must be so frustrating. No engine, no plumbing work, no batteries, ‘it’s all on order’ it’s all next day delivery apart from engine. Another customer strung along, won’t be done in 6weeks Have them pay your digs!
@@Phil-r2l oh I really hope you are wrong. Have faith! 🤣🤣
@@Narrowboat-photography 😂😂 I do too, really I do. I like your attitude towards it, I would have been seething by now 😂 from what videos I have seen, and the pace they work, you must admit that it getting launched before Xmas is highly unlikely, please come back and tell me ‘told you so’ if it does.. I will deserve it 🤣 good luck wishing you the best with it.
@@Phil-r2l bless you, I will 😁
Relying on other people to get things done is a pain in the backside ..
@@kevindavis8442Oh, you are not wrong!
It would be interesting to hear from people that have or are having boats built to see if the set backs are normal ? 😮
@@matthart129 The lack of progress inside is frustrating, however there are so many boats in there that are being fitted out at the same time it seems to us that the work force is spread a little thin. They are in the process of taking on more staff, hopefully that will have a positive effect. As frustrating as it feels I’m sure that they are doing their best 🤞
@@matthart129 My boat build is planned to start in April next year, still in the design stage at the moment, and need to wait till April so I can release some funds from my investments, having said that, I am just having the shell built, and will fit it out myself
@@kevindavis8442 the shells are going out quite regularly. You should be fine
