"everyone can be a magician"
*wipes tear from eye* nice.
Watercolor by Shibasaki no no don’t thank us! We thank you!
Same here ...
He seems so happy while teaching!! This is so wholesome!!
The Bob Ross of watercolour XD
@@appolity I thought the same LOL
If you're not happy doing it, what's the purpose of doing anything?
appolity yup xd
I guess im randomly asking but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
This guy is like a Japanese Bob Ross for watercolor lol! I'm glad I've found his channel! It's all very well done! :D
I thought the same x)
Im from the Philippines, This man is a GENIUS for not using a paper stretcher on his works!!! So happy I found a teacher like you on youtube!!
Me too
I'm a Filipino too
Why is it better not to use a paper stretcher?
What is a paper stretcher?
450/400 Man I believe they meant it’s better if the paper doesn’t warp. The subtitles in the video are kinda confusing in that regard
Wow,I have been laying down washes like the first example for many, many years! You can teach an old dog new tricks! 😀😂
Why are you so sweet...haha I enjoy your videos immensely...❤️❤️

That was my biggest mistake whenever I try to paint and now I'm trying to learn the basic techniques to get beter and better. Thank you for explaining this so clearly.
ありがとうございました and Hello from Texas!
I fell in love at "Hey, when do I paint flat? About 3 people who are watching this video, they may be angry." ♥
Thank you so much for this!! I'm super excited to get more tips from you!! It's cool because even though this seems small, it really makes such a huge difference in the quality of the work! I can't wait for more of these :) watching your videos has helped me to improve more than any class I've taken at school ever did! Thank you again!
TT the first art teacher that actually teaches thanks a lot
When I first started taking watercolor lessons, the first 2 lessons were about how to soak the paper properly and how to mount the paper on a board or frame. Lesson 3 was how to lay down a wash in left to right stripes. Now, Shibasaki- san has shown me the RIGHT WAY to do it! Thank you, Sensei !
But this is not very good either. You can already see it in the video, where his first wash is drying and it is getting patchy. Of course, this might be the look you aim for, but even on a very good paper, it will be blotchy.
grandpaaa! Thank you for teaching these beginners techniques to us c: they make a huge difference ♡ u're an amazing artist and teacher hahaha 😊🌸🌈
I am always smiling while watching ypur videos :) thank you for great tutorials!!

First watercolor channel on RUclips that actually focus on techniques and healing art, and NOT about supplies (aka bs materialistic) and show off skills (aka narcissistic). Thank you, sensei! Much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
Sir, this is brilliant! Not only was I painting the wrong way, I had the giggles all the way through, I think if this was a class in school, I would be on the naughty step! Thanks for a really great lesson! :)
Thank you so much for the lesson, Shibasaki-san. Now I know why my paper always wavy just with a few water. Because my technique were wrong. I will practice more for trying your magic✨

I love how you keep on smiling while teaching us! It makes me more confident! Please make more tutorials like this, this really helped me a lot! ❤️watercolor by shibasaki❤️
Thank you very much for this! I am a painter by profession, but my area of expertize is oil and egg tempera on hardboard. Lately, I've been trying to make some light illustrations and thought watercolor would be way more suitable for that, but while general technique feels good to me, some technicalities were giving me the trouble. Things are very different from using heavy body paints, heh. Your video just solved one my dilemmas :)
I was definitely surprised! I love how animated you are when teaching.
Sir, it's so calming and fun to hear your thoughts 😊 Full of lessons!! Thank you so so so so much, kind Sir! God bless!! Shine on! 💖✨✨
Thank you for this awesome tip! I will have to try doing this! Because my paper has been dented before and I just figured it was the paper! Thank you so much for extending your wealth of knowledge to people all over the world! You are such a wonderful teacher!

@@WatercolorbyShibasaki No, thank YOU, Mister Shibasaki! From Russia with love, grandpa!
I had no idea how to keep the paper from bubbling up and denting! This is SO helpful! We never learned this in art class at all! Our teachers told us to put tape along the edges but it did nothing to stop the paper from being wavy! Thank you so much!!
I have been painting for 40 plus years, yet I have never seen a technique like this! This is simple yes, but no stretching? I just didn’t think it was possible. Thank you so much. I have to try this right away.
You are truly a magician! Basically it's to avoid creating those puddles of paint and water and spreading it evenly on the page into different directions. Thank you for the wonderful advice!
Edit: I'm glad that I can use watercolor sketchbooks again. I never like the ones with glued paper.
Someone: spend their money to teach them how to improve their painting skills..
Me: while I'm watching My Master's painting in RUclips
Thank you Master💗
Hello, My name is Ela and I come from Poland. I paint a little bit, but actually, I never had a teacher except a theory and knowledge from books. I failed in love with your lessons and I know that is exactly what I need. What`s a pity I can not show you my work and ask you for advice... It is such a pleasure to listen to you and watch your smiling face . Thank you, regards.

I'm a complete beginner to watercolor and am so excited to go through this whole series 😁
Found an incredible teacher! Beautiful way of communicating his skills
This is so amazing! None of my teachers ever told me this technique, it's incredible. I just found your videos recently and you are really making me feel like I can try water colour again! Thank you so much!
This is like a big call out video for me, but I absolutely adore it. Thank you for this it was a big help and very funny to watch. 🎂🍪🍩🎂🍪🍩🎂🍪🍩

Thanks for the lesson!! 👏🧙♀️

I'm looking forward to the next time I paint with my grandmother so that I can show her this.

Hi, I am from Bangladesh and today i got your channel and feeling blessed before my art exam. I am also loving your smiling face as well as your drawing techniques. thanks for the great tutorials.
Sensai Shibasaki, you are truly an inspiration! You and your work are the single reason I am trying to learn how to paint using watercolour! Love your channel, keep it up! Could someone explain to me what a flat wash is? I'm semi confused haha.
A flat wash is a block of flat colour which may be for a background. It's similar to a wall at home that you would paint without differences in the colour. I hope that helps.
You are the best teacher love the way you teach thanku sooo much for sharing your valuable teaching
