- Florida's Republican-led legislature passed a series of conservative bills, including measures easing up gun laws, expanding the state's so-called "don't say gay" law and banning transgender people from using bathrooms that match their gender identities. It comes as Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to announce a 2024 run for president. Want a bathroom solution? Put in a 3rd bathroom called "unisex" and everyone will quit bitching.
I visited a museum this week that had an "all-gender bathroom." Such a simple concept- the stall walls and doors went floor to ceiling without visible gaps, so each toilet was in its own completely private cubicle, and the sinks were out in the open (no urinals, unless they were in stalls I didn't see). They also had traditional bathrooms for those who might be uncomfortable with this.

One senator embarrassed a transgender child by asking her which restroom she uses. She said the same as her other classmates & didn’t understand the question.
Politicians should know what they’re talking about before making inappropriate laws that don’t apply.
Some genders are wrong due to biological factors like adrenal enzyme deficiencies or overproduction rather than transgender & hormones fix their medical condition but politicians are too stupid & ban hormone therapy for all children. Inform before making stupid laws.

Floridians would suddenly find themselves paying state income taxes if Disney left. That would be the only way to make up for the loss in revenue they generate.

Tell me you don't watch ANY channels owned by Disney. Because most are. Look up which networks Disney owns. But since he's decided to leave them be, it's pretty clear cut retaliation. If Disney is sueing, they have a pretty good idea that they'll win. Honestly Disney should start plans on leaving Florida. Setup in a new state that is more friendly to them. It would be a major undertaking but look at it in a different light, Disney could move to a state that would give them more land, more self govt. Leaving the standard Republican argument against "government overreach in regulating business" aside, part of the reason businesses become involved in social issues is to increase their consumer base and profits.
Social issues are related to their businesses because they directly impact profits. Corporations have a responsibility to ensure profit growth to their investors. They don't have any responsibility to risk their profits to pander to politicians and their troglodyte constituency.
100% and this does affect their business! They have lots of LGBTQ employees that help to make all that "Disney magic". Let's not forget their customers in the community. Also this is literally the government of Florida infringing on Disney's free speech.

I do, too. Nowhere in the bill does it advise to, "Don't Say Gay." This is not Clinton's Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy for the military. This is a screening of academic curriculum which is deemed appropriate for ALL children, not just special interest groups.
the bill also bans the reading and presentation of books that present families with mothers and fathers, because that's a direct reference to HETEROsexuality. if parents are not okay with their kids reading books in schools that show kids with same-sex parents, they should NOT be okay with their kids reading books that show kids with opposite sex parents either. I've read the bill. the language is vague enough to interpret teaching in this way.
This is why Floridians voted for Republicans and not socialists.
