Amazing, total professional work, so satisfying to see you work, I learned a lot. Also I like the quiet when you work, no narration, no music, just the sounds of the work being done, very artistic and effective, thank you!
Excellent video. Easy to follow along with what you did and replicate. I have an older Audi with deteriorating "soft touch" panels that look terrible with many gouges in the paint and the plastic underneath is showing through. I didn't think to use rubberized undercoating but that's got to be better than Plasti-Dip because it has to be way more durable, and also has that "soft touch" type of rubbery feel.
I have tested this approach (ie with adhesion improver and rubberised undercoat) and found that it really shows up scratches - even light ones as they look lighter against the ruberised undercoat (even if there is black plastic underneath) - it looks ok to begin with but it will look worse before long. How is your car interior holding up?

looks good
This is one of the most incredible jobs I’ve ever seen, I will do this for my Porsche very soon! Thank you sir
Thanks. I was mostly feeling my way through the process. I’m super pleased that it worked out well.

My sand beige interior is wrecked. Would I be able to paint the rubberized undercoating? I couldn’t tell if you painted black after it.
The undercoating was black out of the can. I’m not sure if it’s paintable.

As of this writing it’s like new. No scratches or wear or peeling. FYI, it’s mostly garaged and I live in a relatively moderate climate.
@@100dad7 thank you for your update! 👍
Hey Dad, can you tell us how it’s all holding up? I am about to start this process in my Cayman. Thanks, Dad.
As of this writing it still looks great. No wear or cracking or fading.
Does it feel velvet to the touch?
No. It’s more like a rubber underbody coating. A rough texture but not sharp or harsh like underbody.
Are you in Raleigh? A member of PCA?
