    The one thing I’d say is that cobra buckles tend to be authorized in SOF for bird use. Reason being is that the authorized tether line has that pull release on it allowing you to quickly disconnect in an emergency. So the more important feature would be the D-ring weight rating to verify that it can withstand being rapidly loaded in like a hard landing or something. That would be a good thing to add to your reviews. Otherwise, good review.

    I believe the wet suit is not why they designed the belt that way.
    They designed it that way so the hook does not scratch you when you are on long hikes when facing inward.

    • @ThinLineDefenseCo
      @ThinLineDefenseCo  2 года назад +3

      so instead it always scratches you with the inner belt facing outwards? They could have at lease covered the top of the inner belt with nylon to make it not do that....which you see on alternatives half the cost of this.

    HSGI has the same velcro system. Both work well for Run 'N Guns. All depends on use, "use". Most people buying probably won't actually use the belts. The AXL has been good too but not as comfortable over miles of terrain. The inner belt is definitely meh... The Blue Alpha belt is a way better EDC choice. My HSGI belt system has 40 miles on it.

    12:18 Cobra buckles are not known for safety issues. It's their purpose to not be able to be released under pressure, they are climbing gear. SOCOM banning all double piece belts as retention systems hasn't to do with the buckle but with the belts not being rated.

    I definitely purchased this belt for the hype of it being the new new. It looked like it would have been a better bison belt and in some ways it was but in others it wasn't.
    It's difficult to adjust which if you know you're always going to be the same size probably a good thing how tight it's secured. The reversal of the loop & hook is definitely too niche for me to notice if it matters. They have said in there videos on their channel that it's to avoid feeling the hook scratching into them. Irony for me I felt the hook scratching into me.
    So I must not be wearing it long enough to see how true that is. Don't care for the over lap style of inner belts. I like some type of buckle for the inner belt. Always felt like the inner belt would come off if it wasn't for the outer belt being on top.
    It looks good, wears fine, like the tegris being part of where the molle weaves through, but definitely a flimsy belt.
    Went with a ciguera gear belt and have immediately loved it much better, feels lighter, wears better, feels as or more so rigid but not like I can't move in it.
    Perfect belt so far but still new we'll see

    Belts are really half purpose driven and half preference driven. I'm a rural Deputy. I use a load bearing vest to carry some of my gear so my belt is pretty light compared to some guys. I prefer a really stiff inner belt as well as a really stiff outer belt. I hear that some guys like more flex in their belt set ups, but I don't understand why.
    With all that being said, there's no excuse for reversing the velcro. Hook inner belts are tools of the devil.

      DM Mech, HRT ARC, Ronin Senshi I think are the current listed top 3...I think the Axl is up there too. The DM mech, HRT, and Axl use the new generational design. The ronin senshi and lead devil dominate the old generation.

    I’ve run the belt for about four months now, and honestly, I acknowledge your concerns with it, but it’s nowhere near as bad as how much you exaggerated it in this video. I run the GBRS belt and ronin tactics belt while instructing, and were both for hours a day and I don’t notice a difference at all. In between courses, I take off the outer belt and just where the shroud and inner belt. As for the cobra buckle and weight rating, I’m not actively operating, so I don’t require that in a belt, and I doubt most people who buy this belt will need that, either. In the civilian market, I don’t think there is a need for features that the other belts you featured and reviewed on your channel have. This is nothing against you. I just try to look at things realistically and practically but at the end of the day, to each their own. Nevertheless, great video 👍

I have seen other reviews on this belt, those folks have switched over to the GBRS Assaulters Belt from what they previously used that you have ranked higher in your review, you can find those reviews doing a quick search on RUclips. I switched over to the GBRS Assaulters Belt from what I was previously using and find it to be a better solution. I find the available options equipment to be very available if you understand how to implement simple devices. Setting up canted devices was no problem for me.
    I think your review is fair from your perspective, others have differing perspectives. I have not tested all Battle belts on the market, I have better things to do. Like using products. I am not saying it is the best Assaulter Belt on the market under your criteria. What percentage of the Civilian market actually has a need for a ASSAULTER BELT? Civilians 0%. Just so you may better understand why they do the velcro system more intelligently. If you have ever had the velcro loops facing inwards on an Assaulter Belt towards your love handles all day long and wonder why you are bleeding around your waste at the end of the day. You would end up preferring the softer material facing inward, not a million needles of velcro loops. It is the superior solution. • @ThinLineDefenseCo
      @ThinLineDefenseCo  2 года назад +1

      @@sanmon1135 I actually found the opposite. I really try to test the belts and I'll usually wear them for a few 8 hour shooting and recording sessions.
      I found that the loop side has the same contact regardless of being on inner or outer since it's so close to one another.
      A lot of new inner belts that have hook actually have nylon that runs the top and bottom of the belt so this problem is gone.
      Oddly, those belts are also half the cost of the the GBRS one with significantly better features.
      In the legacy style such as this and since both hook direction feels the same, I don't find the flipped Velcro being worth the inability to use products from the rest of the industry.
      The loop is also a wear item. So as on normal belts, you'd only replace the inner belt.... Here you have to buy an entire new belt.
      Which is a pretty beautiful middle finger to the customer and an obvious hat tip to a replacement schedule for a government contract.

    Who TF wears a battle belt outside their wetsuit?!?!? I don’t even think seals do that. Also seals end up wearing dry suits more often than wetsuits so they can wear their campus’s under their dry suit. They store the gun belt and other stuff in a dry bag with the rest of their clothing/gear and put it on AFTER they get out of the water!!

I have owned half of the belt you mentioned here and it's no way near as bad as you stated; at least, if you look at the outer belt... The tegris actually permanently fixes some of the issues I have with nylon stretching out over time which is a minor gripe but definitely something worth paying the ridiculous premium for my personal needs. Sure, the AXL does that as well but I find it to be slightly less comfortable than the assaulter. If I were to design a perfect belt, I would have gone with CHLK's low profile velcro, GBRS's tegris implementation and AXL's price point and blue alpha's inner belt.
