She had the most beautiful feminine sounding voice I've ever heard! After she finished singing it made me tear up. I dont think she knew how GREAT she was. Thats why it sickens me when ppl try to say anyone was better than her. She was born to be the greatest and at the time music was at its greatest appreciation.
Respect others for their greatness ...but respect her. She was the absolute best at her craft.

I was crying when we got halfway through. Her tragic passing affected me the same as when John Lennon, Karen Carpenter and Michael Jackson died.
I never Tire listening to this beautiful Angelic voice along with the beautiful messages that are in her songs.
God, she’s one of the few artists where her live performances are so much better. She makes it look so easy. React to “All the Man I Need” where she’s singing to the troops in a red dress (not the Japan one). Everyone in the crowd loses their shit. Even the “tough guys.”

Two amazing women with different talents. Mariah’s a brilliant musician and songwriter with a remarkable vocal range. Whitney on the other hand is pretty much unmatched on a stage. She injects every song she sings with pure passion, spirit, and conviction. Whitney is also completely at ease in front of an audience and is one of the few musicians that delivers live performances that are better than the studio versions. Whitney is really in her own lane when it comes to vocalists

I remember watching this on TV, I also had the honor of seeing her in concert prompting the body guard, I was in the front row and cried during her show, she opened that concert with the greatest love,, thanks for the awesome memory!! I also got to meet her father at the lobby in the MGM in Vegas, she stayed in the hotel the same time I was there,
At that time she was the greatest, and she knew it. I saw her in Norway in her prime on the 1988 tour and I have never, before or after, seen artist perform with such confidence as she did at that night.

How was it a waste? It would've been if she never used it. But she used it and reached millions. She inspired a whole damn generation lol. So I just don't see it as a waste. But I get it that we all have our opinions.

But yes, her performances during her 20 first years in the showbiz will be remembered forever and inspire singers for generations.

It was not just a waste, but as the great Tony Bennett said, it was a sin against her talent. Think 9f all the other great music she could've made if not for drugs. She could've become one of those veteran divas like Aretha Franklin who continued making music well into their senior years. Imagine hearing Whitney releasing an album of Jazz standards, or recording her hits acoustically. She achieved so much, but she could easily have done so much more.
