  • Yesterday was an extremely tragic day for car lovers around the globe. My parents entered my room and asked "Do you know who Paul Walker is?" I already knew what he was going to say. Paul Walker was definitely one of my most influencial people in my life and I would not be doing what I do today without him-that's a fact. I looked up to him as a role model and a true high-profile gear head. You will be missed for sure Paul Walker. How did he effect your life?

There was something off about Paul. With all other celebrities there is always the sense that the actors are doing just that: acting. With Paul and the Fast and Furious movies, it never felt that way. He was acting, but there was always a sense of his genuineness because all gearheads knew that Paul actually gave a crap about cars. He was different. He brought more of himself into his character. After his death, I stopped hating on other cars and parts of the culture because Paul drove cars that I originally didn't like. I fell more on the muscle side. I'm ashamed to say that Paul's death is what caused me to start appreciating good cars no matter the make and model.

That is deep man. I have always loved cars. My favorites started from ferraris, to silvias, to skylines and evos and then ferraris and now a Supra. I still watch his old movies to this day, his soul is still in the cultures presence.

CreacherRDK hs I feel the same way as you bro. His death to me didnt seem real at first. i told my friend but he gave no fucks. only people who are car enthusiasts would understand of have the same feel that we felt man. only the people who enjoy the culture. no matter what engine, car, brand, price tag, we all have a love for the same religion. paul really did enhance my and as well to millions of others knowledge and support for the culture. i miss him dearly and its still upsetting and deep to comprehend with today. i always wanted to meet him, but life moves on

David thanks for making this. Its funny how, even people we have never met, can have such influence over our own lives. May we, each in our own individual ways, make an impact on the people around us. That is in essence what the car world is about at its finest. To honor his memory, folks should consider donating to the Philippine Typhoon charity which was the event he was attending when he died. RIP #PaulWalker You will be missed but never #forgotten ThatDudeinBlue ending was PERFECT! Thanks!

SirRockoRARE Not corny. We all have had influences and mentors in our lives that have motivated us to excel and be the best that we can be. Those that grasp the opportunity and make the best of it go on to be successful while others just miss the writing on the wall. Stay focused, stay committed; be safe and make the smart decisions to make your dreams come true.

My first word was "car" and literally almost every toy I had was car related in some way, I Remember while cleaning my basement when I got older, I had counted nearly 2500 hot wheels cars, and countless other car toys. And when fast and the furious came out omgggggg I fell absolutely in more love with jdm cars and it was because of Paul walker. He turned a blazing passion into an inferno obsession of cars and I am forever grateful. I am 18 now and don't have a car yet but I am not going to get one until I can afford one of my many dream cars as a first car. Many would say that is foolish but I know how to maintain cars as well as drive them better than people twice my age due to my understanding of automobile physics. I passed my road test with only two driving lessons which was un heard of by my driving instructor.

That legend stuff. Ignore anyone that will tell you that you can't do it. I've had many hotwheels of my own, still do and still buy'em. last two were an m3 gtr e36 and '90 nsx :D. but these are just temporary. To be honest Paul Walker had a huge impact on my life. Growing up I liked how cars looked but never really loved them. I was kind of the odd ball the kid who never fit in with any one group and I changed friend groups over the years multiple times just because I kept feeling like I didn't belong. In 2010 I first saw the fast and furious movie on tv and it changed my life. I continued watching each and every movie they made and started getting a taste for the car scene. I researched every movie all the cars what parts and setups they had I did everything in my power to find and learn about this new and interesting culture I had suddenly found. Before fast and furious I never knew what a Toyota Supra was or an RX-7 and I had no idea the strength of the modified community around me had. I'm not the best by far and I've only scratched the surface of my knowledge in cars and the tuner community but I found a place where I could belong. The car community opened their arms to me.

Excellent video man! Ever since I could remember, I've always been in the car scene and that was long before the F&F series came out. But those movies inspired the car scene and brought everyone together. Those movies gave me further motivation for my passion. Besides him being a car enthusiast in the movies he played in, he was also one in real life. He was the real deal! And to relate with him more personally, he was also a BMW enthusiast. I never met him personally either, but he seemed to be a genuine, cool and humble guy. Normally I'm not one to be influenced much by a celebrities death either, but this definitely hit me hard. I recently read on a car forum someone expressing their emotions, "He was the brother I never got to meet". I can definitely say that phrase applies to me as well. RIP Paul Walker, you will always be a legend to us.

Same here. My cousin told me did you know Paul Walker died? I'm like oh yea and blew it off because I thought he was lying because he knew he was my Idol when I was a kid still is in fact. So I ended up looking it up and when I found out I missed a lot of school because I fell into depression. I cried all day for about half a month. It was a crazy loss for me. It felt as it I had a strong connection to Paul.

Very nice video. I'm still speechless with his death. I woke up today, checked facebook, just hoping it was a hoax. When the first fast and furious came out, I was 13. Sitting front row in the theater. Paul walker was my man crush. Posters on my bedroom wall next to my bed. He's the reason why I'm an import lover, as you used to be. He's my favorite character in the fast and furious movies. Just something about him that makes me "fall in love" lol every time any fast and furious movie is on tv, I'm one of the first to put it on and not change the channel. Not even commercials. RIP paul, you're an amazing guy whom all car enthusiasts will never forget.

It has been a few years since Paul passed away . I am 43 now and was into cars and drag racing when I got my license at 16 but life had taken me in a different direction by the time those movies came out . It reminded me of the passion I had for cars but also my friends who had become like family to me . I will always love the F&F franchise for giving that back to me . RIP Paul you left us far to soon .

the accident reminds me of a conersation I heard on top gear between Clarkson and Hammond
Jeremy: If you go though the Pearly Gates, backwards, in a fireball, that's a cool way to die!
Richard: I love that vision of just blasting through the gates, backwards, in a flaming Swedish supercar! "Yes! I'm here! Where are the women?"
I guess in this case it was a German supercar
In all seriousness though, Paul and the F&F franchise influenced me as it has for pretty much everyone else here. He sparked something that I didn't know was there.
12 years later after seeing the first fast and furious, Im now working as a automotive tech and tinkering with anything on 4 wheels in my spare time. I'm pretty damn sure I won't be where I am today without his influence. Race in paradise Paul, the impact you had on people is bigger then you'll ever know.

I myself was totally shocked when I heard the news, I even thought it was another Paul Walker, not THE Paul Walker that we all knew. I even wanted to believe it was some sort of joke or hoax. Unfortunately, he really did leave us, in a tragic way above all. That's what so sad and so ironically painful. I mean, who would have expected that, an actor dying the way he did like his characters is supposed to in the real world.
I took it really hard and just like you, I'm not someone who cares a lot about celebrities, in fact, I don't care at all, I don't follow their life or grieve when they die. Paul was the exception, he was one of those celebrity who actually was a pretty genuine person. Bought a 10 thousands dollar diamond ring for a total stranger, flew to victims of natural disasters (e.g Haiyan victims) to help them with his organization he founded, ROWW, dated a 16 years old girl for 7 years and was about to marry her (or so I have heard), thought about retiring from his acting career to spend some time with his 15 years old daughter that just moved 2 years ago from Hawaii to Santa Barbara, his home, to live with him. Last, despite being a car guy, he also had another passion which was marine biology and was even still tempted to finish his studies he started when he was around 22-23 years old but couldn't because his successful acting career that threw him in another direction. What kind of celebrity would do that after gaining so much fame and money?
All the above are outstanding things most celebrities would never do, because they just aren't what he is, genuine.
Yes, I have studied him a lot and I'm not a celebrity freak, but it was well worth it. His life is that inspiring.

    • @kevingarcia6368
      @kevingarcia6368 3 года назад

I agree as well. I really believed it was just a joke or a crash that looked like it could be ideal for a scene in one of his movies at first and never thought how could a great man who wasn't just a street racing actor, but also a real pro racer and authentic car enthusiast could have died so unexpectedly, especially since he was a real professional driver along with Roger Rodas. After hearing the news, I didn't want to believe it at all at first and then I asked my mother if that was true and she said yes, it was true that Paul Walker had passed away in a car accident. I was completely shocked hearing it after all and was also in complete disbelief. I almost wanted to weep for Paul Walker after realizing it was the truth and I had to sadly accept that painful truth. He was my first inspiration and got into the Fast and the Furious franchise because of his appearance. I got motivated by him at first after seeing him in the 2 Fast 2 Furious movie and shortly after seeing his first appearance in the green Mitsubishi Eclipse in the Fast and the Furious movie from 2001, I liked Paul Walker ever since then and now I'll miss him very much. Even though I didn't get to see him in real life, but still miss that charm and personality he brought to the franchise. Rest In Peace and Race In Paradise Paul Walker. Until we meet again. Paul William Walker IV (09/12/1973 - 11/30/2013)😔

Exactly the same as you. Never really was into cars as much as I am now until I saw the first The Fast and the Furious movie back in '01 when I was 10 years old. I go on cruises all the time just to go on a cruise. Drove from MN to CA and back, MN to LA (Louisiana) and back, MN to MI and back several times, MN to IA and back several times. I wouldn't have my friends I have right now, I wouldn't be where I am right now without the influence of F&F franchise and the underdog that was Brian (Paul). Bought my Mazda3 brand new in September of '12 with 39 miles on the clock, today I have 68,000+ miles.
He influenced us here in MN so much, me and my buddies organized a charity memorial cruise for Reach Out Worldwide. 300 cars and 700 attendees in snow/blizzard weather. Took the north and south loop of 494 and ended back at the Mall of America and that's where the Theaters at the Mall of America and Universal Studios donated to us the space and rights to show the original The Fast and the Furious like we would've done back in 2001. That was awesome. What's even more awesome is that of all the donations, we've raised $6,123 for ROWW. That's awesome.
Paul and Rodas, you're both kick ass. We all miss you two very dearly and know the automotive world will never ever be the same again. RIP

Wow beautiful video. I lost my cousin Brian in a motorcycle accident, he taught me everything i knew about cars and he influenced me in the cars, bikes and custome cars. He passed February 13, 2000. I was devastated, he died doing what he loved. I at the time had a 1981 camaro Z28 and when Fast and Furious came out in 2001 I had an instant connection to Paul Walker aka Brian O'Connor. When he passed my world was crushed once again. It was like losing my cousin all over again, so of course i took his passing hard. Sorry for this late post but i had to comment to show my appreciation. Now everytime i drive my V8 with the exhaust bellowing i can only think of my cousin Brian and Paul Walker.

My dad was the biggest influence on my love for cars, but F&F opened up a world where you didn't expensive exotics or v8s to have fun and you could create an extension of yourself through your car and learning how to really drive a car. Paul was a real car guy and loved cars so he was easy to relate. On the downside everyone wanted to be a stunt driver after the first movie leading to more and more idiots on the road, but as the series progressed it became more about being in control ans skill rather than just flooring it through traffic

When i saw Paul Walker's I immediately had a flash back. Me only 5 years old playing with toy cars lining them up as they were in the first race of the first Fast and The Furious. Every time a Fast and The Furious trailer came on, feeling a sudden boost of adrenaline, or some sort of happy rush. Telling my mom I wanted to live in LA and Streetrace and work at Hectors XD. I know its funny but its just what I liked and loved at such a young age. I probably couldnt tell you what I learned in school that day. But I could, at any time tell you what happened on Fast and The Furious. Everybody in my family knows how i feel about The whole Fast and Furious franchise. They also knew that Paul Walker was my favorite. They knew he was the reason why i always talked about one day owning a 98 Supra and R34. But not only did he encourage me to get into cars but he encouraged me to do whats right, do what you feel is best. But to be honest I did cry when he passed. I'll be the first to admit it. but i saw one of his quotes: "If one day the speed kills me, dont cry because I was smiling." and it made me think... At least he went out doing what he loved. Being himself ..you know?.. he died the way he wanted it to happen. .in his car. Living his life. I hope i have the same luxury. but not as soon as Paul. #Rip #PaulWalker We love you man.

I was already into cars when this movie came out. (Built old mopars with my dad). But the first movie triggered something in my head that any car can be badass with the right parts. My dad is a pure muscle car guy. He hates imports but this movie made me respect any car. And a fun fact for paul walker. When he shot 2 fast 2 furious. After he shot that movie he loved the r34 so much he brought one back to the states to own. He loved that car. Why do you think they kept bringing skylines in all the other movies? Cause he wanted them in it. Yah paul walker had some cheesy moments but he was a well respected actor. And with all the actor deaths as of late hes the one that hit the most to me in years. Paul walker.. I hope you went to your paradise on the long stretch of road with your r34. Rest in piece bud rest in piece.

That's right .Lets get it!Thankful to have come across this and many inspiring RUclips videos.Your right about any car can be badass with the right parts.I can sure use a evo or sti or even a impreza myself. If rather build not buy or mooch but benifit for good reasons like monumental drift points.I can't say it enough if you have any thoughts of ideas or inside preyors or messages that can help me grasp a new grip with that eye like Tobys N4S.Cause I can only visualize the wind from My point of view.If someone can give me a q that I couldn't doubt and know sitting here wasn't for me if take it just for a drive minding my own business cause I only know myself.I live for legends like hustlers don't talk they just go get it.Or help like a farcry not cry wolf for bad painted pictures just picture the strive for prosperous Wonders who Win like Charley Sheen.

Paul Walker and the rest of the cast boosted the car scene in such a way that may have saved it from dying out. He was one of the very few in hollywood that you could say is an actual role model to many people. RIP Paul (the busta) Walker

Great video. Really. My wife still doesn't get my daily penchant to "go out for a drive". I am still a little bit stirred by how much Paul's death has affected me and has me considering his relevance to my love for cars and the enthusiast community on the whole. You're 17 years younger than me, but it's so cool to see your passion. When I saw the first F&F, all of us "car guys" got to park in a roped off section of the lot with guards watching the cars during the movie on opening night. We all came out ready to go nuts. I had a 2000 Prelude at the time. Today, I have both a 2012 and 2007 Mustang. So, from one GT driver and PW fan to another, great job and keep going for those drives! That's where we really stay in touch with guys like Paul :)

What a nice video to watch. It is always special and motivating to see people who pursued their dream (especially when you're struggling with your own). I am not really a car person. I liked him for his work outside acting and the fact he seemed like he had this giant heart. I can relate to his need or his desire to help others because I kind of feel the same. Anyway, I think about him sometimes and I like to come on youtube to watch some interviews he did. I stumbled on your video and highly appreciated it. Paul was one of my favorite actors and since that horrible day and everyday since I have really been down n depressed because he was a genuine caring dude that thought about other's and did good for others and had a huge passion for cars as we all do . I have never really followed famous people or personally been affected by a celebrity passing ever, but this has hit me deeply as well as my buddies and people that were fans just like you and I. I know there will never be another celebrity or anyone that will touch soo many peoples lives like he did. Prayers go out to the Walker Family and RIP Mr. Paul Walker aka The Real Bro! Thank you for making this video. I can relate to it so much. Basically, Paul meant everything that you mentioned in that video, to me. When I read those sad news I just couldn't believe. I was like, no way, can't be. It was like my friend has gone away. And in some way he was "a friend" to me. Kind of a friend I'd love to ride side by side. The friend to fool around, to grab a beer and steak with. And then in the night, just fool around in our cars, not necessarily going fast, just enjoying the freedom while you are driving. I love the freedom, I love how I feel alive behind a steering wheel. And in that way I can only thank Paul for this, because he was the one, who influenced me this way!
One more time, thank you for this video. Sending "across the ocean high-five" to fellow cargeek and enthusiast.

Fast and furious was out when inwas 9 and I wanted that supra, to me that was the best looking thing I had ever seen. It's a massive loss to the movie, car industry and to the world that Paul had passed away. He was such a genuine inspiration and an honest person, not that I met him but I know that's what he was like. I can't believe he's no longer here. Rest I'm piece Paul. ThatDudeinBlue, First thanks for sharing this video. Now, Just like you mentioned, when I first saw Fast and Furious back in 2001, it was the first movie of its kind to really stand out. I was already into cars, playing different games like Tokyo Extreme Racing Zero and so on, but that movie really made me feel like I could do or be like that. I did really look up to Paul Walker ( or at that time just Brian O'Conner ) and through out time, with his charity and all.. Was one I really wanted to meet.. I really don't' or didn't care to meet most other stars.. With Paul, and TFATF, he was in the movie almost how he was in life, a car enthusiast.. Thanks for sharing. Even though I am watching this in 2014, it helps keep his memory and life passion alive.. RIP Paul Walker..

Amazing video dude! I know for a fact Paul Walker had a huge influence on me growing up. I remember watching the first two movies around 2003ish. I too never knew what a Skyline was until he drove it in the movie. From then on I fell in one with that car and car culture alone. When I was 17 I bought a 97 eclipse gst..purely on the basis that it was from the first movie. Not riced out tho because by that time I had matured lol. And thru hard work and dedication to my dream at age 20 I finally imported my self a Skyline..though it's an R33 lol. He and his movies kind of made me who I am. Which is one of the reasons I felt so devastated hearing the news of his death, it felt like I lost someone I knew well.

I remember watching the first F&F movie a year or two after it came out when i was 10 years old and I was already kind of into cars at that point through working on them with my dad and just hanging out in the garage with him. That movie just brought me into a whole new side of the car culture seeing as my dad is more of a muscle car guy like most of his generation. I learned to love all cars foreign and domestic. i guess you could say it was the start of the passion for cars that i have now. I couldn't be happier to be part of such a great group of people that share the same passion. It's amazing now that i look at it, most of my friends i have today are people that i met through cars and even some from Forza Motorsport. Thank you so much for posting this. I loved this video because it made sense of why I've been so torn up about his death. I mean, I have been a big fan of his acting for a very long time and, being a girl, definitely had a huge celeb crush on him. But the level of sadness I've been feeling at his death has been confusing me. But everything you said in this video expresses why I'm so upset. The fast and the furious is what got me into cars even though I had no previous connection to the car world. It's such a little, inclusive niche that it's really hard to get into if you aren't born into it, like a family member that is a part of it or whatever. And a lot of the time, if you aren't born into it, you never ever know about it. If it weren't for the fast and furious franchise and Paul Walker's part it in, I don't think I would have the first clue about cars or the car world. And I LOVE this world. Paul Walker brought me into the world of cars and I'm going to miss him. He seemed like a great guy. And FF won't be the same ever again. RIP Paul. My cars will never be an actual skyline but I am a true believer in "function over fashion" and not totally sleeper just knowing that the engine pulling me was once pulling a GTR down the road on an island in the Pacific. . I never really cared a lot for cars after until Tokyo drift when toretto has that muscle car in the end. Since then I've had a passion of muscle cars and never regret it. This was a nice video dude. For me the Fast and the Furious franchise has made me more of a car enthusiast. Before the movies I was driving a 95 Geo Prism. Once I saw the movie I became more interested in cars that can be modified. I have gone through a few tuners since then. I had a civic sedan, a rally art lancer, A4 v6 Quattro and now I have an 09 speed3. It is because of the original movie I started to want to learn about turbos and all the power that comes from them. I say thanks Paul Walker and the Fast and the Furious franchise. R.I.P. Paul Walker.

Your history with cars, how it began and with what it grew, looks a lot like mine. It helps that we are the same age. Fast & Furious movies also introduced me to important cars on the scene (Skyline, Supra, etc.), then NFSU games made me able to live my passion as a teenager without a driver license. Paul also was an important character to me in the spectrum of my passion. I still feel a loss when I see him on the movies.

Well, I remember (at the time I was 4 -5) watching F&F at a Drive Thru Movie Theater and seeing him drive dope cars... I've always loved the build, the engineering, the craftsmanship and art of cars and some how, Paul's shown me that cars are an extension of who you are. He's influenced me and everyone I know to drive cars and create this community... I just can't explain it.

Very Well said, pretty much sums up what most of us car guys felt and thought about Paul and the F&F movies in what it did for the car scene, and what it did for us, either inspiring us to be car guys or to reinforce that dormant love we all have had for cars since a young age

Great, great video. I have an FRS 10 Series and might just take it out now to cruise in the dark.

He inspired me due to the love for cars he had and the fact that he drove my favorite car. The first fast and the furious is the true reason why I love cars. the sound, the thrill, the feeling of pushing or making a pull in your own car is just an awesome feeling...and I thank him a lot for that. #RIP Paul
