I still have a working 8 track player and the 8 track of Steve Miller's Greatest Hits and it still works too. Been listening to him since I was a small child in the 70's
I think it’s “hoo hoo” not “woo woo”. 😉 Saw him live at Jones Beach when I was around 14 or 15 in 94’ or ‘95. Such a great show. He sounded amazing. Everyone smoking weed and just chilling!!
Asia is so perceptive about songwriting. Amazing how they pack so much into a three minute song. Anybody that loves pop music is always looking for that little bitty MASTERPIECE. Gotta love how SMALL a space they pack it into.
Steve Miller and Bozz Skaggs went to high school together in Dallas and had a band together during the high school days. If you have not checked Bozz Skaggs you should but wow that's a lot of talent in one high school.
Another fav is Fly like an Eagle. You two are bringing back songs I haven't heard in years. Thanks again, for letting the younger crowd listen to what we were enjoying. Continue having fun in your reactions.
My favorite Steve Miller song! Space Cowboy, Jet Airliner, Sugar Babe, Fly Like An Eagle, and Rock'n Me are some other good ones. I remember when these were new... They had a little bit different sound...always loved the drums and the guitars. They still sound pretty good!
Fun reaction and I hadn't heard this song in quite a while and I forgot how much I loved it. I mostly like it musically, he could be singing just about any lyrics over it and I would still feel good and loved it and kind of want to bounce my leg to it. I'm a guitar player myself and I love that kind of guitar playing and of course the drummer and bass really kick it. As far as the story, what's so cool about it is it's so casual and offhand, like you just mentioning it to a buddy for a minute while you're at the grocery store. And it's not like this couple are gangsters, they just sit around the couch bored watching TV and getting high and one day the decide to go do something in that is what they do. It's also casual. But it's not a happy ending necessarily for them. They get away which you find yourself kind of rooting for oh, but they are still running today. Meaning they can't kick back and chill, they have to always be looking over their shoulders.
Oh yeah, he used to play in the downtown park here in Lawrence Kansas in the seventies on a regular basis from what I hear. I missed it by about eight years.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love me some Steve Miller...very unique and talented artist, singer, songwriter-ace guitar player. I love a deeper cut off his album "In the WIntertime" it was not played on radio mush but most Miller fans love this one. Has a very ambient sound and feel to it
You know it's funny because you noticed that clapping in there? Every time they mentioned you know of the great state of Texas there's that one song that goes the stars are bright they shine at night clap clap clap clap deep in the Heart of Texas
I'm from El Paso Texas and Hollywood Filmed a Movie here in the 1970's called "The Getaway" staring Steve Mcqueen and Ali MacGraw and it reminds me of this Song it's a Badass Movie
I just watched y'all react to their other song The Joker. With great writing, they're are great son lyrics. With great song lyrics they're great songs. My parents liked this band a lot, so growing up I'd listen to it which broaden my horizons when it came to listening to different genres. As I get older I appreciate music that tell a story, especially ones that hit you with something different. Also you can find the humor within the songwriting as well. This song is a jam and fun to listen to. Going to add this to my road trip playlist. Awesome reaction and love going down the rabbit hole (music edition). Sending yall positive vibes!
I have never seen a reaction to "Jet Airliner" by Steve Miller Band by any channel I watch. It was a big hit when I was in High School. Maybe sometime you guys could react to it. Thanks
Used to be a favorite song of mine when I was little! Always clapped along. BTW Steve Miller came and played on my cousin's college campus in the early 2000s and she sold him some MJ. She had no idea who he was till she relayed the story to her dad 😂
Oh WOW! Thanks Asia & BJ for the ❤️.. completely unexpected but very much appreciated! I only discovered y'all's channel a couple months ago and after only 2 videos I subscribed. I was already suscribed to a couple other music reaction channels yet y'all's channel has quickly become the one I watch every new video. I especially enjoy how y'all really feel the songs that you react to ( instead of just generic comments) and Asia sometimes your facial expressions crack me up and I always enjoy much BJ gets down to the music 🎶🤣 just wanted to let you also know that your ❤️ is right up there with the one I got from Chynna Phillips ( of Wilson Phillips maybe react to them sometime) she's also the daughter of Michelle and John Phillips who were in the Mama's and the Papa's ( great group for a reaction also) meaning that to me at least y'all are becoming somewhat of music royality in my mind. Also, another request my dad's cousin named Spooner Oldham is in the RNR Hall of fame. He's an amazing piano player and organist. He was a session musician and recorded with the best including Aretha Franklin, Crosby Stills Nash and Young and others. He is the one playing the keys on Aretha's Natural Woman. He had his own little hit in the 60s called Your Puppet. He was asked to record with the band The Drive by Truckers in 2007 even though he's much older than the members of the band because of his reputation of being a great player and awesome guy ( he invited me to one of their concerts and let me hang out with them backstage and after the show ( and paid for all my drinks 😅) there's so many artists he has recorded with for future reactions. Everything from early RNR, southern Rock, soul, and country. Anyway, much love and appreciation for y'all!!
Great track/reaction guys😂 that was great I actually hadn’t heard that in awhile..not a TERRIBLE strategy by the kids in the story I guess..figure Billy Mack gotta retire some day or at least slow down you would think😂 BJ I don’t know if you remember the track “True fine Love” really good and it might’ve been on the same album as this but regardless another one by him that gets stuck in your head forever..if you two ever have time I predict you guy’s will def.like it..and if you DON’T like it then I may leave town too🤦🏻♂️😁Love the channel my friend’s👏🏼👍🏼
There are two famous "dead space" moments in rock lyrics. One is "The heat was hot" from America's "Horse with No Name". The other is in this song: "They got the money, hey, you know they got away." Killer song anyway, but that lyric still makes me laugh all these years later. :)
Running south of the border is one of the best things I ever did. I live here now. Y’all want a great vacation, then come on down. For something a little different, check out the interior rather than the beach destinations. Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Querétaro, San Cristobal de las Casas are good destinations. San Miguel de Allende has so many gringos living here, you can get by easily with no Spanish at all.
The Raconteurs have an amazing story song, "Carolina Drama". They're a current band of Jack Whites', even though he's about to put out two albums solo albums very soon & tour this summer. The Raconteurs have two singers & dual guitarists, my favorite band of Jack's. They usually encore with "Carolina Drama", so good.
I saw Steve Miller at Angel Stadium in 1977. There were 7 bands but the only other one I can remember is Lynyrd Skynyrd. I remember them because Steve Miller had the upper decks bouncing to the music with a lot of movement and i was wondering if they would collapse. But of course it is in earthquake country and built to withstand the shaking. Unfortunately the reason i remember Lynyrd Skynyrd is because of the plane crash a few weeks later. (Swingtown)
To hear an amazing song with an amazing story you got to do the Beastie Boys ‘High Plains Drifter’. Many say it’s the follow up to ‘Paul Revere’ which you’ve already reacted to.
I have literally been to over 200 major label band concerts in my life. This is the only band that I have seen three times, I will see them 10 more times if I have enough years left in me!
me too, I saw him back in the 80s, great reaction however, Asia, I gotta keep tellin ya, you gotta cheer up a little, smile once in a while, hahaha, you guys are great
Used to listen to this on..... An 8 track! 😂 But, to be fair, it was in quadrophonic stereo. (Look it up. It was awesome!) The only bad was the occasional interruption when it changed tracks, sometimes in the middle of a song... 😡
You're EXACTLY right!!! Myself, I bought every medium of their Greatest Hits, 8 Track, Vinyl, Cassette, CD and now digital download. But, those 8 Tracks IRRITATED me to no end!!! IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG!!! Sheesh...
Steve Miller Band "Greatest Hits 1974-78" is just full of fire...
I saw Steve Miller in 1995 and every song in his set was a big hit. Opening act was the Doobie Brothers. Was a great show...
Saw him just 2 years ago with Peter Frampton. Same result. They were both awesome.
Had to be an EPIC show!
95 huh?
Lol,so recently.
I saw him in 90' with Santana and ZZTop... They all sounded great...!
@@sammyholloway334 Let us old farts relish in our glory days. Lord knows we have enough regret to offset the balance. 😁
I still have a working 8 track player and the 8 track of Steve Miller's Greatest Hits and it still works too. Been listening to him since I was a small child in the 70's
*Mr. Chill...I worked on his ranch in Williams Oregon until he sold it in 1986. Good guy, great place...and good times.*
Back in the years I was overseas on the USS Ranger!!!! 74-78! Loved y'alls reaction as always!!! Peace
Seen him in. Detroit, Toranto, Austin, Nashville. He goes way back to 67. San Francisco.🇺🇸🐴✌️🍷. Need to hear him Live!
Steve opened my first Grateful Dead show, 6/6/92, Buffalo.
♥ Great band, song, and reaction! There's so many great Steve Miller songs. I suggest Jet Airliner!
Heck yea
I agree on the Jet Liner request but please react to the long version!!
Steve Miller 'Jet Airliner'...long version!! Great song!!
So many awesome 70's tunes. Not bad in the 80's, but his 70's stuff is a huge cut above.
Baby’s Callin Me Home, 1968
Wife here...Literally have heard this song all my life..(never gets old)..!...Saw him in 95 or 96 Charlotte NC..Amazing show!
That's one great thing about the 70's music, it was all about the storytelling
I think it’s “hoo hoo” not “woo woo”. 😉 Saw him live at Jones Beach when I was around 14 or 15 in 94’ or ‘95. Such a great show. He sounded amazing. Everyone smoking weed and just chilling!!
The beginning drum part was sampled by rapper too short for his song paula and janet

A friend of mine had to talk me into going to see Steve Miller, and wow! I really had to thank him for convincing me. What a great show. ✌🏼😎
Steve Miller always has some story in most of his songs. Thank you for this review of a great little song.
My best friend plays this drum intro.....was our band warm up practice tune, this yalls song...you know yall gonna take the money and run. lol

Love this song! Used to sing it as a kid all the time
Great song saw them in the mid 90s, the Doobie Brothers opened for them! Great great band!
We all need some Steve Miller Band in our lives. "Rock N' Me" is one of my favorites from them.
Miller was awesome in my teen years in the 70's. Couldn't wait for his albums to come out. This was one of his best!
All the suggestions below and also 'Swingtown" & "Fly Like an Eagle" 😊
One of their best. I think there was a movie ce out after the song but I don't believe it was called Billie Joe and Bobby Sue.
You can't go wrong with this cd. Every song is great. This was my friends wedding song years ago. Such a fun story 🎵 🎶
The vinyl record is better!!!
Love Steve Miller. Do " Jungle Love" u'll love it. ♥️💯😎

Funny on their song Jet Airliner…I always thought they said Jet. Carolina …for years until I saw the title in my radio🤣🤣🤣

Gary Mallaber is awesome.
