Gaokao is a nightmare. As the clock ticks closer and closer, all you hear is this word, ringing in your head, like everyone’s possessed. If you mess up in the slightest you could drop down tens of hundreds of rankings. From dawn to dust you do practice paper after practice paper, with no life, no extracurriculars, no nothing except eat sleep and study. My sister messed up on the gaokao and had to settle for a local college. It broke my family’s and her heart(she got FULL marks in zhongkao, which is like half the gaokao). My brother too, I recall in a period of time he had severe depression from scoring badly and almost offed himself. Gaokao is not a joke.
zhongkao is like test for middleschoolers when you're moving up to highschool
Why didnt she retake it ?
@@gon6152probably stress
@Gon6152 you can’t retake it

They making these questions sound like a riddle
If I saw that question on my test, I would just grab all I had and walk across the world so I didn't have to answer it. That essay prompt is crazy. Whoever came up with the questions really must have been either trying to make the students cry or was too lazy and sleepy to write the questions.
I mean... its not even that difficult. It could be a God asking a human if they are tired in their journey to achieve their dreams, and the human says no cuz cuz they have a lot fire left in them to achieve their dreams, and then you can base the essay on human strength and resilience is a testimony against the challenges of life. Now i havent given the gaokao and dont know the pattern so maybe I got it all wrong (I am suppsoing its a subjective type promot and you can lead it in any direction you want) so if i am wrong, dont hate on me.
I would write a whole story with that line as the starting line.
Ikr!!!
You can treat the voice as the voice of god, asking a human if they are tired on their journey to achieve their dreams. And fhen yiu can base rhe essay on human strength and resilience. Quite simple honestly (its my interpretation tho, yours can vary a lot. In open ended essay prompts like these there ks no correct answer. And your answer displays your creativity and analytical skills. So yeah!
Gaokao literally means test for college. I'm Chinese.
Gaokao is crazy important in china
When i went back to china this summer to visit family we went to a buddhist temple and you can hang up lanterns/ribbons with your wishes on them and i saw so many. where the wish was just to do well on gaokao
The Jee is arguably tougher than the Gaokao difficulty wise, but I'm lucky not to be Chinese.12 million 1 exam that decides your life-crazy 😭. We have a lot of alternatives in India for engineering. Plus your relatives will judge you for the rest of your lives. The education system clearly isn't the best in India and China but there's no choice due to the competition.
the questions may be harder, but the Gaokao is 9+ hours long+the stress and ridiculous essay prompts are what makes it hard.
Do a long form video on this.
Yes he has to
Why would they make a test like this? 7 years in prison for cheating is way too harsh in punishment.
Don't cheat 🤷♂️
@@AkitoLite Yeah, you shouldn't cheat. But I'm just saying, that's a ridiculously harsh punishment. Cheating should only get you suspended, or maybe a fine if the test is that big. Not 7 years in prison.
@@glengalloway2508 Dont cheat 🤷♂
It's not. In tests like these they should have a significant punishment. Even in India when a million people take jee or 2 million in neet or other high numbers it should be fair to all sections of society. If someone gets away with cheating another person will probably be extremely depressed and think of himself or herself as a failure @@glengalloway2508
It is horrible, I am the first generation here in America and my parents and grandparents had to suffer through this. They had friends who committed suicide because of the stress or because they got caught cheating.
They're trying to find out who the dragon warrior is.
I have a question. I want to go to famous university like MIT , Stanford, herverd etc with scholarships. So what to do ? Which step I can follow? And how can I apply for it?
This doesn’t seem like a successful education system
it is very successful actually
It is very successful from the technical point of view
@@kayawva Surely China has plenty of top ranked institutes in the world. However, with much more population and studying hours per day, they don’t have that much Nobel prizes compared to the west, their gdp per capita is twice lower than neighboring countries like Korea and Japan, and China is still isn’t a developed country. See the problem?
Success comes with problems, true that Gaokao enhance decent people with a chance to get into top institutions, but also result in mindless way of studying which destroy students’ creativity. Chinese colleges got big problems too: nobody ever quote chinese essay
@@andrewcuber8968Tell that to the suicide rate in Asia's education systems. I'm not saying this as a joke either. Success is important, but not at the expense of one's well-being.
1:34 It sounds like a riddle! The answer is "a candle." The candle flies upwards as it burns, and the flame doesn't get tired because it's not a living thing. The voice asking if it's tired is a person asking the candle.
A candle cannot speak. A more logical answer can be an astronaut. If it does not need to be living your answer may be correct, but there are other answers out there. Good answer though.
I would have interpreted it as god askinf a human if they are tired or not in their journey to achieve their dreams, and then base the essay on themes of human strength and resilience
@@Baroquedtbh in open ended promots like these they are no correct answers. Any and every answer is correct,if they hold rhe essence of rhe prompt

JEE Advanced from India: *boss music*
Bro cmon you dont have to insert jee in every gaokao exam video. Yes jee is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT but still, not as difficult as the GaoKao. A 10 hr exam?
I wonder why random Alis and Abdulas are popping up when Jee is mentioned? I know most Pakistanis are jobless but still...
I took one week to passively analyze the question, and I have the solution for the essay prompt from 2013, and it is correct for two reasons. The thing that flies upward based on the Chinese point of view is the People's Republic of China which is C0mun*$t; the Chinese government thinks that their country and economy always goes up. When questioned by the of voice of the more reasonable and capitalistic United States if they are ever tired of growing at the expense of their own people, the Chinese government answers, no. The second reason for which it must be correct is that if the Gaokao organizers reject this statement, when the government of China finds out about this, they will have the organizers arrested for perjury of national pride or else.
damn
You know you don't have to sensor the word "communist" right. Also, from a Chinese perspective why would the US be the more reasonable voice.
If I say distance is based in this question, will you understand the absurdity of the answer? Don’t overthink it.
I would just write a fictional story
Police : “Hey why are you here”
Me: “Because I cheated on my exam”
The answer is wind. Since moving air is wind and wind moves due to gravity so, It cannot be tired as ut didn't need to do anything to move upwards
Question: It flies upwards and when a voice asks if it is tired it says “no”
Ans:I think the answer is the “SOUL” of a person.
Reason?
Well after a person’s death he/she are often referred to as “RIP” Rest In Peace.
Here since the soul of a person is expected to go to heaven an angel(for eg.) may ask if it is tired and the obvious answer we get is “No”(since the person is in peace).
I don’t know what other’s perspective is but in my view I find this a suitable answer.
Thanks
Mine is similar. I interpreted the voice as a god asking a human if they are tired in their journey to achieve their dreams. The human says no, as they have a lot of fire left in them. And then i can base the essay on themese of human strength and resilience
We are lucky we live in America.
idts bruh
Even jee adv is a nightmare in India everyone start learning for it from class 9 th and still no garentee of getting into the college 😅😅
But, Gaokao is a nightmare for the whole world 😂. It's no. 1 on the list.

Hello there
Human Rights left the chat, arrested for years for cheating.
its your human right to cheat and get away with it right
idk bro I don't think cheating counts as human rights
The biggest benefit out of doing well in these exams is that you get a decent chance to leave China.
We have a newly grad that did well in his exams and had the opportunity to live in the US. He’s in Boston now.
IMO & Putnam cry in the corner😂
My dad got into the best college in his area from gaokao, and I showed him the hardest class you can take at Harvard and he went "that's so easy".
A bird is the answer I think
Jee advanced be crushing this tho
Actually... Well yeah kinda but these essay prompts are next level. Don't get me wrong JEE ks EXTREMELY FROGGIN DIFFICULT but this is 10 HOUR EXAM we're talking about. And the competition is 10x more than JEE. 15 lakh students (1.5 million,) give the jee, while 12 million give gaokao. Jee has a less variety of subjects and gaokao has A LOT.
second papi mahad
"gaoko" 😂 sorry my friend, the second syllable is a lot closer to "cow"
ik he's saying it completely wrong.
yeah in chinese pinyin is always pronounced the way it's spelled. so gao and kao should rhyme.
This would be nice in America for people to actually demonstrate their knowledge and no idiots who get into prestigious colleges for sports
I do agree in some aspects to your statement however basing your higher education in addition to future jobs solely on one academic test isn't any better.
Nah, gaoko is actually terrible
We already got the SAT. But no thank you, GaoKao will f my dumba## up. Even my chances at getting into a community college 😳
The answer is a fucking balloon, what else?
Birds gets tired
Bullets too
It'd be a dead soul flying up if its not a balloon
How about helicopter 🚁 it is not tired 🚗😂
