When I got the email for six nations tickets that included the prices I just laughed and closed it. Cannot in good conscience pay those extortionate prices.
I'm in Edinburgh for a fortnight later this month and as a rugby fan I thought why not treat myself to Scotland vs Italy at Murrayfield. An eye-watering £80 for a Category 3 seat no less. I get there's limited opportunity to make cash but the same price as an All-Ireland Final ticket... scandalous.
3:25 its a joke. I failed to get tickets through the Leinster Lottery system for season ticket holders. But yet this company has hundreds, how??? Ticket sales SHOULD be made 9n public sale. Im sick and tired of this some thing year in, year out.
The most notable thing about Ireland these days is the remarkable age of players and their massive number of caps. Which is great, but causes the peaks and troughs of Irish performances.
Yes and it's refreshing compared to the munster gibberish offered by off the ball that you need to pay for! Tho in all cases ulster and connacht are barly mentioned.
I would go Barrett on the wing, Osborne full back,Keenan other wing centres stay the same. Or even Keenan on the bench he hasn’t been the same player since coming back from 7s.
Chaps, the uncontested lineout change to law 18 is that the ball must be thrown in towards a lineout player even if it’s not straight. So the no2 can’t just fire it sideways to 10.
IRFU are lucky the home games are England and France, as they will always sell despite the price. Cant wait for them to try a similar pricing strategy for Italy and Wales next year!!
Leinster and Leo Cullen need to focus on what’s best for Leinster against Stade Rochelais, and let the Irish coaches worry about Team Ireland. And how come World Rugby doesn’t seem to care any more at crooked put-ins at scrum time? Scrums are supposed to be a contest, and number 2s are supposed to have to “hook” the ball backwards.
A few years ago they made scrum halves put the ball in straight and the hooking battle led to some hookers getting serious injuries. They soon went back to allowing crooked feeds!
No way will I buy tickets for an international match at the Aviva. I can get there and home on the same day. However, if I watch the match on TV with my family and friends, offer them dinner and drinks, and give them €200 each for fun, it's still less expensive than going to the match with my family. Enjoy being there rich people, but please...make some atmosphere....duuu
I live in the States and the ticket reselling situation here is an absolute joke. Any event worth going to is sold out in the blink of an eye to bots and the tickets are up on resale websites 1 second later for 3-4x the face value. Literally every sports event or concert.
Noticed the same in Canada. I moved here a few years ago and it's a complete joke. The worst part is, it's just accepted. The usual response people give when you ask are they not sick of it "oh thats just what it costs" I always thought that there should be restrictions tied to re-sells. I.e you can't post it for at least X amount of time after purchase, and only X number of days before the event. The fact that you can buy a ticket and put it up for resale straight away is a disgrace. Did you just realise in the 2 seconds after you bought it thay you couldn't go??
The reality is that 6N home games aren't being aimed at the real rugby fan anymore. The main target audience are the corporate junkets and the sherry-sipping D4 set who will gladly fork out for those ticket prices
My daughter was at a corporate bash for one of last years games,and she told only her and one other person in the box went out to their seats to watch the game,the rest of the toffs were too busy quaffing free food and drink,even when james lowe was wheeled out,my daughter and pal were pretty much the only ones to chat to him.problem is and always will be the wrong people are getting the tickets,not the real fans,and the irfu wonder why the atmosphere is so poor.went to lyon number of years ago to see leinster v clermont,it had a carnival atmosphere,fantastic fans,and the noise was deafening.
The corporate tickets are obviously going to be like that but I get tickets through my club in limerick . If you want tickets get involved in grass roots .
Same thing happened in Munster when they were at their peak. All the tickets went to Bank of Ireland directors and the like. It will happen in Leinster too before long but they'll probably have to win something first.
I dunno what o Conner is smoking but all larochelle need to do is kick 3 6 9 12 15 18 and wait for crucial moments to attack the red zone. This assumption that everyone is gonna kick for touch is crazy imo
Well most of the time they're all kicking for touch, including La Rochelle. Also if it was as easy for kicking 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 like you've said. Then why isn't everyone doing it?
tbh relying on Croke Park might not be a good idea long term. Political winds change. Better to not get hooked on funds from that stream unless you are 100% you wont need to cut anything if rugby has to endure the loss of it.
