There are syncopations and accents and melodies on Holy Diver that are pretty lacking in Last In Line. There's such a keen energy. Plus the album mix sounds better. It's like when Judas Priest followed up the brilliant album Screaming with Defenders, it became a darker and more plodding sound - all without the same excitement and spirit..

Aldrich’s style fits perfectly in Dio. I am a big Craig Goldie fan, but sometimes I wonder what Dream Evil would have been like if Doug had joined instead. I love the Gary Moore/ John Sykes influences. Monster rhythm section Rudy Sarzo/ Simon Wright and Scott Warren’s keys are great too

And it was after decades of following Ronnie I finally got to meet him at the Bristol after-show drinks. I've since interviewed Doug, Rudy, Simon & Scott for my old radio show, plus my dear brother Craig Goldy.
I disagree,.He butchered the solo and plays with verry little FEEL,.. He doesn't put his fingers in the proper place to Bend stings effectively : ( Took some of th magic out of a fantastic performance by Ronnie~
