    About to try Miacademy now.
    Kids initially liked time4learning but after a bit they hated it. The videos were the same format and animations every time. They stopped being engaged and always said “we already did this one” when they hadn’t they just all look and sound the same….just different info. So we didn’t continue this yr.

    I've tried multiple curriculums however time 4 learning wasn't a fit starting out for my family however since my child finished the book curriculum early we wanted to give Miacademy a try for summer while deciding on fall curriculum. I must say my child loves Miacademy. As far as distractions I place all restrictions for community interaction until work is completed ✔️ ... love the review

    hello Amanda, what homeschool curriculum or an all-in-one homeschool program would you recommend for video instructions/lessons that teach you about the course (ex. learning division or grammar lessons) and less interactive gaming learning? I see Accellus homeschool (too expensive for me) I need something that is either free or very affordable! I am new to homeschooling I just started this month and I have subscribed to so many programs that I am lost on how to plan a curriculum or a learning schedule for my 4th-grade son and Kindergarten daughter. I am also looking for a program that has Homework assignments and printables.

    Having done time4learning for high school I hate it. The videos are extremely dull, extremely wordy, and sometimes wrong. They also have an intro/summary section that are a waste of time, most of them don’t go over the subject and more just give a thesis that could have been given in the lesson itself. The quizzes are some of the hardest things I’ve ever done. The questions themselves are easy, but sitting down to focus on doing these quizzes every day with how repetitive they are is extremely hard for me. I can’t personally recommend time4learning at the high school level, it seems like it might be a lot better at an elementary level(?)

      It’s also for middle schoolers, my child is in 6th grade and he is getting frustrated with time4learning. He says the videos are too long. He is on the spectrum and has ADHD but is able to be independent with his learning and I’ve honestly seen that each lesson is about 1 hour to almost 2 hours long!
      That’s for one subject.
      While my elementary school child who has the same diagnosis, finishes his work in an hour or less and gives us time to focus on supplemental work and being able to take enrichment outside of the home.
      At this point I’m thinking of making a switch to Mia Academy.

    I signed up for miacadamy. Maybe its just me and having to learn to navigate it. I dont like how it doesnt read the story text in reading comprehension but reads the Q&A. If i want the audio i need to find it in the parent part, i think. Plus, in the math it said they needed to watxh the equalities part 1 Before part 2 without providing a link. I didnt think it was intuitive

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  8 дней назад

      I haven't had a problem with the lessons. Is the student just following along the learning path and doing the lessons as they are presented? If so it should be very simple. Usually there's a PDF to print and then the video lelessons, followed by some questions and a quiz. But they give a break in between so you might end up back on the learning path and then go back to finish answering the questions.

    I’m a homeschool mom with 6 kids. Which program would you recommend for simplicity and ease of use with the least amount of parent oversight. I’m just looking for a simple program that can easily keep the kids on track so if I fall behind or if one kid is particularly struggling they all still can stay on track until I can be more involved.

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  4 месяца назад +1

      Of these two programs, probably miacademy. Of all the programs out there? Probably Power Homeschool, although it's not my favorite, you can definitely just set it up and then leave them to it.

    I wonder if either one is worth it since I’m only interested in Science and Social Studies curriculum. For science, are there hands on experiments? Also, my child is in 2nd grade and will only sit in front of a computer if she’s enjoying what she’s watching.

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  Месяц назад

      If you're just looking for science, there are probably better programs out there. I have a video on my channel reviewing a bunch of them. If you want hands on experiments Supercharged Science is a good one. Social studies I haven't found that many stand alone programs but I'm looking into it for an upcoming video.

      @AmandaMelrose  5 месяцев назад

      You can set up the schedules however you want on both platforms, but you can't add in your own work. They do have detailed reports. Because they're fully customizable, you could use either program for just the lessons you need and then create your own for the rest. Google classroom is a good resource to keep track of the rest.
