SaltyPretzel no, if it was on ctgp then it would be in worldwides which would make no sense, it’s probably an add on custom track you can download separately.
Savage Jack depends on the track, but often yes. Normally, dry bowser is better than funky for flame flyer, especially for tracks with a lot of snaking like rDS. However, for tracks with a lot of boost panels and not a lot of snaking, funky is faster, like Rainbow Road.
3:56 EDIT: by reading comments, I remembered that Delfino Square mud cut has heavy offroad, Peach Gardens flowers are heavy off road, and DKJP has heavy off road inside the last corner. Also, I think it's worth talking about the tide off road that Peach Beach has. It appears to change based on how deep in the water you are, but idk also, the Toad's Factory mud and the Waluigi Stadium mud (not to be confused with the Waluigi Stadium off road) are in fact normal off road!
Ziwei the waluigi stadium mud is normal off-road I’m pretty sure and the grumble volcano off road might be considered mud by some people and it is light off road
3:19 Funky has an offroad bonus of +3 so funky flame has 24 off road. This is why in 200cc, Funky and Dry Bowser can drift off road in the Flame Runner, but no other large characters can!
Most heavyweights actually do give an offroad bonus, the only ones that don't are DK, Bowser, Rosalina and the heavy Mii. Wario, Waluigi and King Boo can drift in the offroad at 200cc too
Now I get what people mean when they say that Sherbet Land is an off-road track. I never knew there were different types of road, I just assumed some courses were slipperier than others. Great vid as always, keep it up
KC gives a range of 20 - 45 units/frame in the pipe and between 15 - 40 units/frame outside the cave. The Speedometer does not show you the speed in KM/h but in ingame units per frame btw.
lol the other comments pointing this same exact thing out each have far more likes even though I said it first (unless the comments just didn't appear immediately, but still, they all say 9 hours ago just like mine).
This is a really neat video, I didn't know I wanted this one! About the heavy offroad (which gets abused in CTs, ugh) the only place I was aware was heavy on RTs was the middle of the cave turn on rDKJP. I never actually know about DKS or BC having offroad that heavy.
@ArcIntel the speed of the river in KC actually isn't constant, it is defined by series of points in the kmp, each with an associated speed. Looking at the kmp, Nintendo used values from 1 up to 100
There is a bug in MKW that if you use a star before the cannon, leaving the cannon will make the offroad normal, even if you have a star, so, if you go to DKJP, use a star before the cannon and then go to offroad while having a star, you'll still slow down
It would probably be weird because you would need some sort of ice or sand for slippery off road, along with all 3 off roads. I think it would be possible but it would be hard to make thg he course play and look good
@@savagejack5714 it would probably end up being a Dreamworld cloudway type thing where you transition between different environments, then it would make sense
6:12 maybe im not understanding it fully but I don't think mushrooms have instant acceleration either unless you mean star having a slower acceleration
I’m not a genius at this kind of stuff but aren’t the garden beds in peach gardens heavy off-road? I’m not sure, but they seem like it because they cause a major speed loss when driving through them.
I don't quite understand though: how exactly does the "slippery road" effect you? It seems like it maintains momentum in the direction you were going (basically being slippery), but in the video it was said that there's less traction, implying that turns can't be taken as tightly in general. I also noticed that if you release an SSMT on rSL while turning, you get shot off in the direction you were turning too, supporting my hypothesis of it being calculated through momentum. I wonder if the game views it as a "physical" change in the road, or if contact with it influences the stats of your combo in some way, or if it's something else entirely.
More info about all the different collisions that exist in the game can be found here: wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/KCL_Flag In fact, there's actually a way to have sticky heavy off road or sticky 'anything' by simply putting the same geometry as sticky road, but 2 units below your 'anything' collision. It's more like a CT Creators Tips but that one trick that nintendo never used but is still really interesting to know
The standard speedometer does not display conveyor and water speeds accurately. To accurately see that, you would need an xyz speedometer to calculate your speed based on coordinates.
The reason that the mushroom doesn't add to conveyor speed is probably because mushrooms don't really add to your speed, but instead they put your speed at a set value for a certain amount of time. I may be wrong about this though, as this is just a hunch and I'm not too familiar with MKWii
Can you do a side-by-side comparison of things like speed and off-road. (Like Funky Kong on one side of the screen and another heavy on the other side?)
Weak offroad doesn't let you drift for free. You actually need an Offroad Stat of atleast 18 (or maybe 17, but no character vehicle Combination has that value so I could not test it) to drift on it, meaning if you pick Jetsetter with a character that doesn't add offroad, you cannot drift on it.
Adding to campbellmop’s comment: Shy guy beach doesn’t have weak offroad - acceleration/deceleration do NOT stack - speed stacks but only to the limit of 120. It is important to note that speed is not additive but multiplicative. i.e. all driveable collision in the game has a speed multiplier (normal road being 1x). "funky kong doesnt give any offroad bonuses"
he actually gives +3, but great video apart from that!

Icylapras thanks
Funky gives a +3 in Offroad. Also, other example of heavy offroad is the flowers on Peach Gardens. Great video though. :)
He also gives like +4 speed right?
Datone Dude yeah obviously but his point is that Arc was wrong when he said funky doesn’t have an off road bonus

Comparing him and Troy is like apples to oranges. They play the same game, but they do not make similar content. I'm really glad we have both though
