We started out our day by hiking deep into the woods of New Hampshire to go metal detecting a couple of 1700s cellar holes ( old foundations ) from the colonial New England days. We first stopped at the not right site and dug up a few old relics and a buffalo nickel strangely enough.
We then headed to the next detecting spot and Waynos with his Garrett ATGOLD detector scored a beautiful and fancy show buckle frame from the 1700s; All covered with flowers and nice designs. We worked the site for a bit and found several old buttons as well as a complete iron shoe buckle.
It was then time to go exploring and looking for another foundation way out in the woods. This was going to be tough because there are no old roads out there and very few stone walls. We hiked for two hours through some rough land and crossed many rivers before finding the site. Unfortunately it had been used as a camp at some point in the 1900s and was loaded with trash. But, the important things that we actually found the site and still had a great day metal detecting, exploring relic hunting and filming. we found some really cool old stuff metal detecting.

I thought that Tim was only joking until you showed me the cellar hole ! Good eye Tim ! One never knows where you might find a cellar hole . Even the hard to get to places seem to have some in them ! Maybe the logging caused some of the bad areas around those sites ! I'm going to do what Beardo said about taking a nap if you guys don't find the hole ! Before you guys started looking for that last hole by taking a nap . I'm not sure which way the thunderstorms are headed but heads up in case they are headed your way ! Here in south central Kansas we have floods everywhere and getting more rain ! To wet to do anything around here maybe a week or two before we get dried out enough to do anything . Thank you guys for the adventure and nice finds ! LFOD

I always have my eye out for that large rock used by ladies and young children to climb into the stage or to mount a horse. I call them coach stones. Congratulations on the buckle work of art. We are so fortunate to live in this area that we do and it’s finds like these that bring me to the realization of it.

Aww Charlie this reminded me so much of your first videos. I loved it. We searched for an old homesite for over a year. Not believing that someone would build on the side of a river bluff. Determined to find it, climbed up and down that bluff. It was on an outcropping. Unreal spot. Awesome video tonight.

An awesome episode once again, and that shoe buckle was amazing! Charlie, I have a quick question for you (this is like chemistry - properties of matter ha-ha): how do you distinguish a tombac button from a pewter button in the field? They both look similar to me (I'm onto a circa 1800 site now), or at least I think. Is it mainly weight/density (pewter more dense like lead I guess), or tarnish/shiny-ness, or do you base it on the VDI (I've been getting what I think is tombac around 50-ish on AT Pro & I assume pewter usually rings up a lot higher?), Thanks in advance for your input - I'm still kind of confused what the metal is.

Some treasure diggin', some rugged ramblin', some over the rivers, that gave me shivers, scramblin'. You gotta love what you gotta do, 'cause it's always hist'ry gamblin'! Whether under a root, or under a stone, or inside a chimney pile. No matter where, you sure don't despair, but keep at it for a while. So thanks once again, my Stealth Digger friends, you sure know how to make me smile.
Thanks guys, you sure looked like you had a great adventure today, and managed to come away with not just your dignity, by not falling wholesale into the rivers, but also some cool history which was well worth saving. Loved the ramble and the stuff even if it was really tough. YAY!!! Thanks for sharin'! I hope you have a great day!
