Tims last dig metal detecting in New Hampshire cellars

- Our good friend Tim ( hitchhiker ) is moving on and leaving us here in New Hampshire. Tim has spent the last two seasons metal detecting with us and we sure are going to miss him. Being he is a native NH boy he always had something to share with the group when it came to exploring the local terrain and sharing local history. In this video we go out in our usual style searching for old cellar holes way out in the woods and looking to dig up relics from the colonial New England days. We know we will see Tim again in the future because he has a Big Al suspension box hanging in the shack and someday it must be opened.

I think the item @ 14:30 is a screw driver. style is an old flat blade "gun smiths" style. The tapered end was driven into the wood handle (which has rotted away) and the ferrule kept the wood from splitting.www.garrettwade.com/gunsmith-screwdriver-set.html
this is similar. I have them in some of my antique guns that are in their original cases and the drivers were fitted to specific screws. A very simple way of making a "turn screw" as they were known. Not saying that it was for a gun but that style.
The hitchhiker will return at some point for 3 reasons.
1. To open his box
2. Lu needs to he handled
3. Noone else will ride in my jeep with me on 2 wheels lol

Great episode. The sites were thin, but the friendships were thick! Sure gonna miss you, Tim! I like how Big Al made you that suspensions box...it is one way to guarantee you will be back to the Shack at some point! It is a kind of Continuum Beacon that will call you back when you hit that point when you find your silver! I think Big Al has some kind of Voodoo going on with those boxes! Good luck, Tim! Charlie, the mysterious object at 14:30 might be a reversible screwdriver. I don't know how far back they were made but if that's what it is, it could have had a hollow wood handle that has since rotted away. It appears to have a wide blade on one end and a narrow one on the other.
