    • @lateinbloom
      @lateinbloom 3 месяца назад +11

      Just be careful bc cheaper price means cheaper parts, often no quality control, extremely limited warranties, and sometimes no customer service. If you're going to use it everyday, make sure it can handle it. I've read reviews and have coworkers who have had to replace cheaper ones in less than a year because the parts wear fast or the motor burns out. There's a reason regular treadmills aren't cheap.

      Do not get the elseluck walking pad!!!! This is my second one and the exact same thing happend as the last one, first after about 2 months you start to get a smell of burnt at about the (50min mark to 1hour mark) then about a moth later you can’t even run it to (40min) without it smelling burnt, then finally today it smelt burnt at around the (40min) time then when I got to (50min) smoke started to come out and that nasty burnt smell!! Both of these didn’t Evan last me a year! I was doing some math and I predicted from my last walking pad from when it burned out, that this new one was going to burn out in December and we’ll guess what? It did, only lasted 3-4 months and I’ve spent around $250 on both, this time I’m just going to do some research and buy an expensive one around ($300), its worth it l, if I buy another elseluck I alr know it’s only going to last till march amd that’ll be around ($300) spent on 3 walking pads, when I could’ve just spent ($300) on 1 really good walking pad!!!

      Yes. Can definitely be stored upright. I have seen some walking pads where they have a reservoir you can put oil in but most don't. I will say that I ended up storing a walking pad upright for a couple years and it had an oil reservoir and did not leak anything (but they are all different).

      If it's a fire hazard thing, could you put a piece of tempered hardboard (aka Masonite) down? Comes in 4'x2' sheets at most big box home improvement stores. It's thin enough to store just about anywhere (as low as 1/8" thickness) and pretty easy to move around. (Bonus: you can cut hand holds into it to make it easier to move around and make it pretty with patterned contact paper if you want)

    a friend of mine gave me their City Sport walking treadmill. It's a nice size and pretty good. Lately though I used it at a speed of 3.2mph for a good hour and 20(roughly). When shut down but the display showing the results. There was a slight hum coming from that same area. A week or so later I started it up and that sound returned. Once I got going and got back to that same speed as mentioned. The unit did and immediate shut down with 1hr 15 mins at said speed. Then an error code of E02 which according the manual means motor issue. I picked up some silicon oil and followed the add and how much. As these and any other walking treadmills not design to maintain that speed for that long?

    1. Incorrect info on the speed/mph. There absolutely are portable treadmills that work at a speed higher than 4% 2. You did not mention a MAJOR difference about walking pads: some come with hand bars to hold onto for support (and rest an ipad if you'd like) and other do not. This is a key thing to consider.

      1) Plain Turkey Breast
      2) Egg Whites
      3) Broccoli
      You can sub the veggie for whatever vegetables realistically to get some variety, but your body will accomplish a lot if you take my advice.
      You could start the exercise journey by simply laying on the ground and listening to your body. You'll begin stretching and little by little you'll be activating muscles by your movements and actually burn calories just being in motion.
      If you're committed, I guarantee you lose weight.

    Cost aside, why not a regular treadmill? You'd have to have excellent balance with one of these pads. The only advantage I can see, and yes it's a big one: cheaper and easier to store. The full treadmills have too many unneeded bells and wistles. Thanks for the vid.

    • @GoTechGeek
      @GoTechGeek  7 месяцев назад +9

      I think really these are made for storage and for a work from home environment. It is nice that you set this up real quick under your standing desk or in front of the TV or something like that. It is a good way to get some movement in while you are in front of a screen all day. I do wish they would go faster but I get that they don't because they don't have a bar to hold on to.

    • @lateinbloom
      @lateinbloom 3 месяца назад +1

      I was looking for this, too, initially, but having used a lot of actual treadmills, the cheap ones can be dicey. So if a treadmill made for running can be problematic, it's probably too much to hope a walking pad is going to be able to handle it. Jogging/running increases the force at ground contact, and I just started thinking that the walking pads that go up to a higher speed might not be able to handle the force over time and could wear out faster than some of them already do. So I just decided to get my running in some other way, and keep the walking pad strictly for walking.
