- It's day 3 of our holidays in Denmark. This time we decided to try something we've never done before - rent bikes :) That way we should be able to cover more ground and enjoy even more of the beautiful scenery in National park Skjoldungernes Land. Denmark is supposed to be a very flat country, so it should be easy, right? Let's find out 😃
Part 1 of our vacation in Denmark (Copenhagen): • You'd expect it to be ...
Part 2 (Nationalpark Skjoldungernes Land): • Are we in a fairytale?...
Part 4 (Danish Riviera, royal castle): • From sandy beaches to ...

At the end of the video you both looked tired but happy. Glad you enjoyed your day biking. Thanks for sharing. Your pal in Ireland, Stefan x
Thank you, Stefan. It was such a nice day, we loved all the little cute things 😊😁
Guys, that was so calm and serene. And the rope boat, right out of Game of Thrones. I was expecting the Night King to chase after you 😩. Thank you for the video ❤❤
Thanks, Greg. You don't even need your pills while watching these idyllic Denmark videos 😁 That would change though if the Night King would appear 😀
I love that I am going on adventures with you guys that I know I will never do myself. Thanks to you I am seeing sites and scenes that I would otherwise never have known about. Plus your muscles will be aching the next day not mine (LOL); thanks for making the sacrifice. The river crossing was out of a story book. Great job.
Thank you. It's so cool that we can show you such places. You are at least able to visit through our videos 😊 Yeah, you won't be tired like we were 😀
Thanks Peter & Tommy for taking us along! You guys show us the benefits & ease of traveling. Btw, the bike rides were cool and the background music was perfect as usual. The ferry ride across the lake was awesome. I’ve never seen anything like that.
Thank you. We like to show our way of travel, how nice it could be to explore not just the touristy locations but other places too, with local transport and so on 😊 Glad you like it.
Thank you for sharing your adventures, I am learning SOOOOOO much. You are awesome both of you
Thank you, Kristine. We love discovering all these pretty places, not just the touristy areas 😊 Glad we can show you what Denmark looks like 😉
I like how free you both look riding your bikes though the countryside, it looks so beautiful and peaceful, take care of each other
Thank you. It was such a great trip, we really enjoyed discovering the Danish countryside on bikes 😊
I really like that you cycle around and experience Denmark from other sides than Copenhagen. It makes your vlog much more interesting 👍 And remember guys, that the only person watching out for you in traffic is yourself ! 😉
Thank you 😊 We really like to explore other areas than just the touristy ones, so this biking trip was amazing for us. So many pretty discoveries 😊
the scoring of these videos are actually really pleasant! Great music choices and transitions!
Thank you, we always try to choose music that fits the vibe of a place where we are or an activity we are doing. Sometimes it can take quite a lot of time to find the right tunes. We appreciate you noticing and we are glad you like it 😊
I love that you guys are showing other than Copenhagen. Danmark is so much more 🤗😘
Our pleasure. We love to explore non touristy areas 😊 Denmark is definitely not just Copenhagen!
Most people only get to see Copenhagen. Glad to see you adventured in the "countryside". The area around Roskilde is probably my favorite area.
Hi Morten, glad you liked our adventures. We always try to see more than just the main tourist sights on our vacations, and we always like being in nature. So, it was great riding the bikes and seeing the beautiful surroundings 😊
Omg I was falling in love with this video ❤
Denmark is beautiful, especially the countryside. We loved being there ❤️ Thanks 😉
thank you for makeing this video it was really fun to watch you are now my new favorite channel
Aww, thank you Jamie, that is so nice 😊
A lovely video Tommy and Peter.....thank you, James xx
Thank you, James 😉
So interesting. Loved the videos of the pheasants, the swan and, of course, the little bunny who seemed somewhat tame. He had a beautiful color as the bunnies here in America are all gray. Once had a little wild bunny in my yard that I was able to get to come and take a slice of carrot out of my hand. Wish we had pheasants here in my area. It's similar to the country side there so why not?
Love that ferry. It would be a nice play thing for a coupla minutes.
Thank you, Jerry. Pheasants and swans are quite common in most European countries but that bunny was something new, we have never seen one before out in the open. We thought it was someone's pet or something, just running a bit further from the house 😁 There are hares here everywhere, but no such bunnies... Glad you found the video interesting 😉
We don't have wild bunnies in Denmark. it was a domesticated bunny. It had probably escaped or was just a lose-running pet bunny.
Truly a fairy landscape! We like your movies so much because they are "real" not "fake" like many who publish their stories on various social channels. Appearance on social media has almost become a way of life. I recommend you remain "simple and true".
You look like the protagonists of the beautiful film "Call me by your name", by Luca Guadagnino. the passion of the two protagonists for the bike allows you to fully appreciate the territory, wandering from one village to another on two wheels. See you next time R and D😎
Thank you very much 😊 We are always real because we also don't like all the fakeness and perfection of social media. We like showing the real places, how they were when we visited them.
We know "Call me by your name" and you are right, there is also this feeling of freedom present 😊
Peter, you made me laugh out loud when you compared your squeaky bike to the shower scene music in "Psycho" and that you felt like you were a killer. So very funny.
Haha yes, but luckily I didn't kill anyone in the end 😀
Lovely, marvellous...!! ~💖💖😊
Thanks, we liked this bike trip very much 😊
Wonderful, guys! Denmark is one of the few places in the world that just seems ideal. I'm sure they have their problems, but the whole country seems serene, beautiful, well-governed, prosperous, and by and large happy. Your bike ride through the little towns and countryside confirms that happy impression. It was, indeed, "cool" !
Thank you. Denmark is very nice, we really liked it. Of course not everything is like from a fairytale but there is often this feel 😊
What a wonderful way to explore Denmark’s countryside! So fun and absolutely beautiful!💚
Thank you, Peggy. You would love it there, it's so beautiful 😊
Aw, this will be a delight to watch! Two cuties taking us on a video tour to lovely Denmark in summer is just my piece of cake, and a delicious one, thanks folks😇😍😘
Aww, thank you 😁
@@tommyandpeter You're both most welcome💙💜💜🙏🙏 You may not have given much thought about it but to some people, videos like this are mental hygiene, especially for web activists like myself who have to deal with so many dreadful facts of this world. Much appreciated indeed.
That is so nice 😊 Our videos couldd be like an escape from the bad real world into a fairytale 😁
@@tommyandpeter That's it! In the world we're living, not only activists but anyone with a keener sensitivity will feel more vulnerable by the constant influx of dreadful news, disasters, human and animal cruelty. We need some getaway from it all, even those who are enduring wars, in fact, they need it even more so.
I confess that the country side is not my favorite habitat, I love nature but I need civilization. I'm still trying to find ways to conciliate these two aspects somewhere, someday:-)
What a great adventure. Thanks for taking me along. As you promised, the countryside is beautiful. I especially liked the carpet of garlic flowers. Never seen anything like that. We have some wild garlic here but not anything like that. Was a great idea to rent bikes to see the countryside. The ferry is unique. Apparently there were many of them here to cross small waterways. I don't remember seeing them but have seen lots of similar photos, even one somewhat larger that was used to cross cattle. What a great adventure you two are on. Love it. Take care. Tony
Thank you, Tony! We were in awe from the wild garlic in bloom - the forest looked magical with it. And the ferry was a very interesting experience. Shame that they disappeared in your area but it's true that nowadays there are more convinient methods. Glad you liked our biking adventure and that were able to show you more of Denmark 😊
Exciting video - thank you for the cycling tour of Denmark! Love ya!💜💙❤️🧡💚💛🩵🩷🏳️🌈👬🙏🇺🇦
Thank you, AJ 😊
The ‘hidden’ and apparently forgotten palace in Roskilde - right next to the Cathedral - is the former bishop of Roskilde’s palace. To day it is a museum in some of it’s parts.
It was very pretty and we especially liked the flowers in the small garden 😊
Yet an other great video. 👍You certently chose the best time to visit Denmark 🌿☀️ But poor bikes 🚴🏻♂️ I bet they never been taken so fare away from the city before 😁 Looking forward to more fairy tails 💜
Thank you, Kim 😊 Yes and we got lucky with the sunny weather, everything was in bloom, very pretty. Haha, we were thinking about the bikes, how we were testing them in harsh conditions. But they kinda survived, so thumbs up for them 😀
Where you in Roskilde on a sunday? It explains why there weren't so many people. Normally it is busy. Great video into the country side.
Thank you, Maria 😉 Yes, it was on a Sunday. We are glad we got to experience it when it wasn't very busy 😊
This was beautiful. It was so strange to see that kings square was totally empty. So very cool.
Thank you. We were also surprised that nobody was around on the square but we loved it of course 😁
That was amazing. Love you guys. Thanks for sharing. I fell off my bike last week and bruised my ribs and scraped my Knees.
Slowly recovering thankfully. Thanks for sharing your amazing trip.
❤❤
Oh no Andrew, but we are glad to hear you are recovering 😉
Very nice video😊
Thank you 😊
❤ Thank you so much for the wonderful tour of all the different countries you’ve been to. I’m trying to make up my mind which one I want to live in after my mother passes away, there is no reason why I need to stay in the United States; if I could I’d be out of here tomorrow I just don’t feel safe anymore. On an up-note I got my 2001 Volvo S40 working so since I can’t be there in person, I can be there in spirit.
Thank you, Mark 😊 There are various great countries in the world. Scandinavia in general is considered very livable (on top of many charts) but is quite expensive (Norway extremely). The south of Europe is very relaxed and cheaper. But so many European countries are nice to live in, it wouldn't be an easy choice 😁
Roskilde is the 10th largest City in Denmark.
It's a very pretty city. We know we said cute "little" town - we usually don't know these things and we are discovering as we go. We just capture our adventures when we are somewhere and show our viewers (mostly Americans) these less known places 😉
Flowers of wild garlic are also edible and very tasty !
They are? 😯 That's brand new information! We have to try them next year 😊 Maybe they taste similar to chive flowers...
7:10 It truly is a ferry tale.
The yellow rapeseed/canola fields can be very picturesque 🙂
Totally agree with you guys. Peaceful and idyllic places. Made to measure for a king and his faithful servant.
Omg. The wisteria ( here called glicina) reminded me of the fragrance of the patio of my granny's house in spring. Those perfect clusters of lilac flowers that seemed to be drawn.
Impressive the Roskilde Cathedral, which from 13th to16th century was Catholic and from there Protestant.
Tell us the truth: how were "certain parts" of your anatomy after the long bike ride?
Until next time exhausted sorcerers. Super thumb up.
Thank you, Liliana. Our certain parts were sore the next day, but surprisingly not very much, so we were still able to have an active day (you'll see next time) 😀 Glad you liked being with us in the Danish countryside. The wisteria or glicina was gorgeous, it must have been amazing on your granny's patio too ❤️
Let me have 2 Danish and a cup of coffee please.
Sending right now, although they don't call it Danish but "wienerbrød" (Vienna bread) 😁
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
😊😉
Did you visit the Cathedral?
Almost all former Kings and Queens are buried there.
No, we did not, we just saw it from outside, but we enjoyed Roskilde regardless. And we were mostly looking forward to riding the bikes in the countryside 🙂
It amazes me how other countries, especially the US, don't really use bikes. It's not even walkable! The only way you can get around is with a car... 😅
Yes, that is true and there is also private property and fences very often, so you can't just go anywhere in nature like is usual here. We love how it is here 😊💚
I am from Bangladesh.l.I like Denmark very much. So,I want to make friendship with Danish people.Any Danish person here to make friendship with me?
Hey Guys! Where is this ferry?
Hi, it is kinda between the villages of Kattinge and Svogerslev, on a river between lakes of Little Katinge Sø and Svogerslev Sø.
On a map here: en.mapy.cz/turisticka?source=osm&id=1091429144&x=12.0171898&y=55.6469268&z=14
These maps "mapy.cz" (with the outdoor layer turned on) are better than Google maps for hiking and biking, because you can see all the tourist trails and little paths, other things as well. You can also download it as an app on your phone. Maps for various countries can also be downloaded for off-line use, without the internet.
@@tommyandpeter how much this cost to hired a bicycle?
It was around 12-15 euros per bike (the trip was more than 6 hours). It was cheaper in Roskilde than for example in Copenhagen.
oh year, do you think that is not going to confuse me mentioning "that's very dutch" while in Copenhagen after i told you that last week. i am only here for you amusement aren't I
Haha, that was of course totally intentional, just to confuse you 😜😁
Nowhere in Danmark do you have more than 52 km to the sea.
That is very nice, we can only dream about that back home 😁
@@tommyandpeter Yeah 😀
Good morning your videos are very nice 😊. me and my girlfriend will come at the end of August for ten days and we want to rent electric bikes because of my knee problem Do you know what suits me from a financial point of view, the electric donkey is too expensive
Hi, sadly we don't have any tips for you, we don't know how it is with electric bikes. Even the normal ones weren't the cheapest so it probably won't be much better with other companies. Hopefully you'll have a nice vacation in Denmark 😊
Do they speak English, I want to move to Denmark
Actually yes, in Scandinavia people usually speak very good English 😉
I learned English from 4th or 5th grade, in Denmark, and up to 10th grade. That's over 40 years ago.
Today, kids learn English from 1st or second grade, but many kids even know English earlier, from games, and gaming forums.
So yeah, we're pretty fluent in English in Denmark.
According to the English Proficiency Index 2021, we rank 3rd worldwide, of non-English nations, who speak English. Here's the top ten:
The Nederland
Austria
Danmark
Singapore
Norway
Belgium
Portugal
Sverden
Finland
Kroatia
@@akyhne thank you for the history lesson, I love and read history, 125 history books
Come and cycle in the Netherlans, we are a cyclecountry as well!!
We've been to the Netherlands already and it was beautiful (Amsterdam and surrounding countryside and villages) but you are right - we need to come back and go for a bike ride as we haven't yet. And it is the most bike-developed country of course 😊
@@tommyandpeter
Did you like Amsterdam? That surprises me, it is so crowdy there, you can walk over the heads and the traffic.... 😓
We mainly liked the countryside around it. We visited a village called Marken and it was so cute and picturesque 😊
@@tommyandpeter
In Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe you can ride as much as you want. And we have nice and quit B&B's here!!!
And: don't forget the Northern islands... Ameland, Terschelling and Schiermonnikoog!
From nortern Groningen you can easily go to Borkum, a gentle German Island. And much more!
And northern Germany is by train just around the corner. And when you need a place to sleep, you're welcome
You should be wearing helmets. It is the law in Canada!
It's not the law in Denmark (or Czech republic). Have you been to Amsterdam or Copenhagen? Here people ride in their suits to work, no helmets. These bikes are designed for transportation, it's not exercising.
thank you for mentioning helmets; here in the states i don't know if there is a law but do see bicyclist wearing helmets but more do not, but it seems like more do not wear them along the shoulders of roads near cars then on cycles paths away from cars, it makes no sense it should be the other way around
I agree Helmuts do protect but cycling in Copenhagen is much safer than in Canada so wearing them is a personal choice . Kids, racers and elderly should wear helmets
