Instruction booklet rubbish and written in an alien format. Thank goodness for Your clear explanation. It saved so much time and frustration after having wasted so much time trying to interpret the manual it came with. The heater is now up and running but only due,I feel, to your presentation. Thank you
Thanks for this, its useful. Is there a way to reduce the 'whine' that comes from this controller? I regularly hear it whine on our installation even when its off/just in standby. Thanks.
I was considering this heater since it's supposed to be higher quality than Chinese ones, but a quick skim through the comments revealed many problems like "thermostat only working +/-5 degrees", "clock running fast", "controller making whiny noise", etc. Now I'm not sure sure whether this is worth 4x the cost of Lavaner for example. Auto adjustment for altitude is the main reason I'm still considering this one over Chinese heaters. Thoughts? Edit: Since most issues are controller related, I'll buy the one with the new comfort controller. Thanks for this video which hugely helped me make an informed purchase.
I think you will find far more comments about chinese heaters not working than autoterm heaters not working. The comfort controller and the soon to be released PU-28 dont have the thermostat issues and the setpoint is adjutable to +1-1C controller making a whiny noise we only know of about 2 or three out of thousands and they have been swapped put under warranty. So honestly yes its worth the difference.
Hi Owen, great information. Do you know how to solve a connection error? I have just re-started mine after a flat battery but keep getting !Error no connection" cheers
Really useful video thank you. Not sure if its just me but whether in T Heater or T Panel it doesn't seem to switch off when it hits the set temp so sometimes we have the current temp 4 or 5 degrees higher than the set point so we have to just shut down (not ideal when you want it to come on automatically during the night). Tried to change ventilation settings but doesn't seem to matter. Not sure if anyone else has had this or has any suggestions on what we need to do?
Yes .mine is doing exactly the same thing...! Maybe the new 2021 control panel offers this setting...? Bit of a con really..!!!.. !! I am going to give them a call today....
@@davenicholson9003 i actually called them last week and they confirmed this is normal as there is a +5 and -5 tolerance with the setting so effectively it wont switch off until its 5 degrees above and then wont turn back on until its 5 degress below. He said they have tried to amend this tolerance but they cant so there is a new comfort version which has +1 and -1 tolerance so im thinking of upgrading to that (just plugs into the existing cable so no need to be fitted at the dealer)
If anyone has problem that screen is black and only arrows light up, disconnect the controller cable and plug it back in. This happened to me when battery was low.
Hi, I set my heater to run this morning, set by T controller, It was -3 I set the target temp to 30 and after more than 2 hours the temp at controller was only 16 degrees ? Does this sound right ?
Yes, don’t forget its measuring the air returning to the heater and not the air at the top of the living space so it could be considerably warmer there. The cool air back to the heater is usually drawn from the floor height so is cooler than the higher up areas.
I've just had exactly the same problem. Went out to put the heater on after a cold night just to check before I go away tonight. Screen blank but buttons light up. What's happened there ?
Hi jus got a new one these in a sprinter after kicking in throws up error code 13 after like a minute and cuts out doesn’t even get warm any ideas mate
Fuel problem. Check fuel tank level os above 1/2 and then restart up to 15 times of getting this error just to make sure its primed. If that doesn’t solve it. Check fuel pipe and fittings. Of it still doesn’t go search for your local service centre and book flr a check over.
Owen, is there any chance you could change the settings on your Comfort Controller video? It is currently set as 'Made For Kids' which means it cannot be saved in my Favourites folder for quick reference.

Its not a setting, it is just a place where the power level value is displayed. When you have it in “By T” modes the power level is set by comparing actual temperature with the set point temperature. A number from 0 to 9 is in there. 9 being full power and 0 being minimum power. It’s automatically set so has no effect changing it. In manual power mode it is altered with the bars from 0-9 also.
I want to controll the temperature and fan speed manually, everytime i set it by power the same amount of air comes out on the highest setting and lowest setting. Also temperature does what it likes as setpoint is at 18 and the heater is reading 21. Im not sure if this is the heater or the controller thats faulty.
mcdefinitions power mode controls heat output and fan speed together. It takes a while to act but definitely does ramp the fan speed up and down. If you have ventilation mode ticked and also have one of the temperature modes selected it will heat and try to reach the set temperature. As it gets 3 degrees away it will start to ramp down the fan speed and power. As it get to the set temperature it will be at minimum fan speed and power. If the weather is not very cold the temperature may continue to rise. When it reaches about 3 degrees above the set point it will stop the burner and initiate cool down sequence( assuming ventilation is ticked and it has been running for at least an hour). Then as the temperature drops below the set temperature by 3 degrees it will restart the burner and resume heating as above. The band is set quite wide so that the heater does not stop and start too frequently and flatten the battery. There will soon be a new controller available where this can be adjusted if required however it is normally not needed.

First class Owen. The manual supplied was useless. Your video got me up and running in minutes. Much appreciated! Thanks!

In a very cold wet field in Devon watching this as we use the heater for the first time. Thanks so much for uploading
Thanks for that. I lost the instruction manual for my heater and this has really helped :)
Thanks Owen.Very helpful indeed.Greetings from Canada.

Unplug display and plug back in again. Sometimes this can happen especially if battery is low or has been low.

Mihai Amatti i recommend “By T Heater”
In most cases as it makes for a more stable temperature.
