- There are a dozen of these B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) Batman clone coasters currently in operation at parks the world over, but this one was the first. In fact, it was the first inverted coaster when it opened in 1992 and was the inspiration for John Wardley to design Nemesis at Alton Towers two years later.
Six Flags Great America is located north of Chicago in Gurnee, Illinois.

I haven't rode on this one yet, but So far out of all Raging Bull is still my favorite even over Goliath, X Flight is fun when your on the right wing of the ride in my opinion
The drop is pretty weak to me
I love this ride but I always get head rush because its so fast
I rode this 4 times in less than 30 minutes. I had the incredible luck of going to Great America on a rain day. We got there about 1 hour after opening time, and a big storm had rolled through. There were dozens of angry people leaving with rain checks, telling us the park was closed, but my godparents said we should check anyway...
I felt like I had the park to myself. The longest line I stood in all day was about 40 minutes to get a front-row spot on the Superman coaster. Every other coaster was a walk-through. The employees let us climb over barriers between the exit and entry lines, and I got to ride Demon and Batman repeatedly with zero wait time. I wish I'd had the courage to ride Raging Bull but I'm glad I skipped Iron Wolf because I've seen a lot of people complain about the headaches and neck pain.
This is the one "pre-fab" coaster that I'm always happy to see at any park I visit that has it. It's not the fastest or scariest, but it's a lot of fun and packs a lot of inversions into its short running time.

Fun Fact: If you play the Batman returns theme at the exact moment the ride starts it syncs up perfectly with the ride, I have no idea if this was intentional but it's pretty neat.

I love how this version of B:TR rolls through some landscaping and even a creek to enhance the ride a bit. Better than some of the others that were built on plots of land without any of that.
This is the original, so technically it's fitted to this specific landscape.
Not only is it the original but its also the world's first inverted roller-coaster.

The ORIGINAL B&M invert! ... however, in the first 5 years of all the clones around the world, Nemesis was the first custom track B&M invert as the park had construction height restrictions, so instead the rides course was dug into the ground. With the ride flying between canyons, the ride felt insanely fast!

One of my all time favorite looping coasters. So fast your face gets sucked back and so still smooth! AND THEY RUN IT BACKWARDS SOMETIMES!
this is by far my most favorite ride. 3rd row is perfect, no head banging and super smooth

Was there on the day this officially opened for a school trip. Me and two buddies made a b-line right for the ride as soon as the park opened, only to find those vip's already in line before the park opened. We decided to wait anyway, to the tune of 3 hours. Suffice it to say, we were the only ones from our school who got to ride it! The line ended up being so long, no one else waited. We finally got on and were seated in the middle car. The experience was awesome, but since we couldn't see, none of us knew the path of the ride or how many times we were inverted. It wasn't till two years later before I got back and sat in the front row that I learned the path. What a ride!
This was my first loop coaster and I loved it so much
FAVORITE RIDE THERE I like this better than x flight I went on a day with sprinkles so no one was there it ended up not raining and all the rides where 15 min or less other than Goliath it was 30 estimated I got on Batman 3 times in a row front row with one a 5 min wait amazing it was also my first ride ever

I’m 21 years old. Soon to be 22. Went to Six Flags Great America for the very first time yesterday, believe it or not. Went on this one yesterday. It was my very first looping & twisting roller coaster. I’ve always been so scared of these roller coasters since I was a child. I really didn’t want to go on it at first, but I was like “Fine. I’ll try it. I might regret it, though!” I got on. My heart was really pounding before it even started. Then it started. We went up & when we started going fast, I had my eyes closed the whole entire time. I kept shouting “DID WE GO UPSIDE DOWN YET?? 😫” My friend was cracking up. 😂 It was scary at first. I got so used to it that I also went on Demon & Superman which are also loop & twist ones. My favorite one I think in my opinion would be Superman cuz it actually gives you that epic flying feeling. It was the best time EVER!!
It was my first time too, I went there yesterday, and I was literally about to cry going up the chairlift. But that drop was so much fun and the loops and I ended up with a smile on my face

Brings back good memories, I went on this ride b4 on 6/23/12. I didn't while it was going down though. And I wonder why they didn't paint this rollercoaster black since that what color Batman wears.

I just rode this for the first time today holy crap is this intense. when we were sitting there waiting for the all clear my mom asked why we were doing this when she was the one who wanted too. Good times.

This is litterlly the best floorless coaster I have ever been on!!
It's not a floorless coaster. It's a inverted coaster meaning you sit below the tracks. Yes it's floorless but it's not considered to be it. Floorless roller coasters are ones like Rougarou at Cedar Point or Hydra at Dorney Park

To me, being this is the original, it is still the best. I’ve had the opportunity to ride several of the clones. Still the best. She’s short and packs a punch. Though, I do prefer the black track. Yellow makes it look cheap.

The worse part of this ride was doing the two corkscrews at the end cause it was so fast i banged my head into the restraints. Than again this was my first coaster ever so I didn't know what to expect it was so fast i thought i was going to die but now i rode the Goliath and raging bull and i love coasters now.

Rode this for the first time in a decade and holy hell I did not remember those inversions pulling so much whip and G-force. I’m usually not the biggest fan of B&Ms or inverts, and inversions like vertical loops don’t typically wow me, but all the inversions are super intense and it’s amazing this ride came out in the early ‘90s.
so i have a FEAR of ROLLERCOASTERS. i went to six flags w my friends once. I had a panic attack when we were in line for american eagle which ruined the rest of the trip for me, (i didn't ride ANY rollercoasters that day other than dark knight). So im preparing myself now for my 8th grade field trip, god bless me. LOL

I was there on a dead day so the lines only had like max 20 people if that and I rode this 4 times straight didn’t even have to stop just kept going until someone showed up and we had to stop it let them on

zacharie arellano Yes, there’s no true dropping feeling like the demons first drop if that’s also what you’re looking out for, it’s a great ride however some portions may not be as smooth so I would suggest keeping your head against the back.

For some reason ever since it ran backwards in 2013 they never used the things that cover the wheels on the top of the car. You can see them on the floor on the left when the train stops on the brake run

I'm probably a bit late on this, but sometimes the employees running the ride will let you attach the camera to the front seat of the car. or whatever it is and run the ride for you, or its done during ride testing.
I'm 13 and about 55 inches will I be safe on the ride? And is this ride very forceful because I'm going on a school trip
ChiraqNiqqa I think you should be fine im going on a school trip here next month but this ride is a breeze anyway.
This ride in itself SHOULD be fun. However, the first time I rode it, I had to keep my head still for 5 mins after riding otherwise I'd get horrible headaches and vertigo. Every other ride in the park didn't do that except for this one!
Why? It's a B&M. It's as smooth as it gets. The rides that mess up my neck are American Eagle and Demon
