Yay! Thank you Ellie! You are so sweet and considerate about our cooking requests. Hope you enjoyed the cooking as much as I loved watching it. Don’t let our cooking request put any pressure on your pleasure of travelling!
So pleased you enjoyed it Sophia ❤️ I try to include cooking when I can. It’s just if we forget to film it 🤣. A few weeks of cooking and then the rest of the Outer Hebrides will follow 😉thanks for watching 😊❤️👍
Hi Kermit. I try to keep things quite simple as not a lot of room in a camper 🤣. Please you found the vlog helpful. Happy cooking and thanks for watching 👍😊
Nice one guys and right in line with our trip as we use our 700w Bluetti and using it to suppliment lpg right now that is low and a few hours away to top up … 1000w is a good size for sure as I suspect the instant pot would trip out on ours
Thanks for watching. Important to find frugal devices with low power settings isn’t it? Makes such a difference. I always check with Graham before cooking to see if there’s enough power to cook on electric with a plan B for LPG🤣 It seems to be quite hard to track down LPG at the moment. Take care 😊❤️👍
Interesting topic, the recipes are very handy - I’m trying to perfect a ‘mac n cheese’ (David :)) in one of the slow cookers (we got one either the same or similar than you with the nice wooden handles as liked the look of yours from previous vlogs) Great to get some inspiration of nice healthy things to cook - look forward to future recipes 😋 We prefer the built in rather than having to carry something else (as you’ll know) to save space and save needing to faff (I would never remember to charge a power-bank up!) Always love Grahams taste tests. Well done Ellie! ❤ All the very best, David & Rachel 👍
Ooh the mac n cheese sounds good. Do share if you perfect it 👍. Must admit I’d quite like a built in microwave in Merlin. You do need to be organised if you want to cook without LPG or hook up. We happen to quite like the challenge, but it can be a faff remembering to charge things sometimes. I always have to check how I need to cook our meal depending on the state of the batteries/ power bank 🤣 Thanks for watching. Have a lovely weekend 👍😊❤️
Hi guys. Just watched your vlog which was very informative. So much so that the Insta Pot will be added to our on board kit. It certainly looks versatile and Ellie showed how quickly a meal could be put together. A bonus is that it's only 700 watts. Take care. Krs Sid and Nicola.
Hi both of you. So pleased you’ve found the vlog helpful. The InstantPot does lots of things including pressure cooking. Great for one pot cooking! Thanks for watching 👍😊
Hi Shirley. Thanks for watching. There will be some up and coming ideas for the little pot. An interesting one in this series, and more ideas dotted around on our travels. Did you have a particular request in mind? 😊❤️👍
I was literally looking at Ninjas as your video notification came up! Our first trip in the new van is to the site you’re on in Devizes!! That’s Magic! 😂
That’s just plain spooky! 🤣 Really nice site Devizes 👌🏼 I have a bigger air fryer at home and absolutely love it! Hope your first trip away goes really well. You must be so excited 😊👍❤️xx
@@Wizardinthewildthanks for your message. I was introduced to you through Ken & Carols channel…first I saw was the bricks incident 😢 Glad to see you’re both doing okay. I think I’ll get your set up for cooking, it looks perfect for just us two. I’m looking forward to getting going in the van..nice to hear Devises is a good start. We’re only down in Somerset so not far if we need to get home! 😅 I look forward to your cooking hints and tips. Travel safe xx
Ellie is clearly a very good cook.producing delicious looking food making use of the available resources. Looks to good to eat.thanks for sharing and making my mouth water.best regards Michael uk care home resident
Hello Ellie. It's great to be able to cook with free energy. I bought a small cooking pot a couple of weeks ago to use with the power bank we got. It's a 600w power bank so I needed a smaller pot, but it has a steamer too that sits on the top. I cooked a stew last week in the slow cooker using the single gas ring we bought to get it hot, then using the inverter and the power bank for the last of the cooking. It was delicious and your food looked delicious too.😊
Hi. Hope you’re both ok. It really is great to use free energy to cook. We do it whenever we can, even in the winter. The induction hob we use is great too. Love the sound of your new pot. It’s amazing how frugal some of these gadgets can be these days. Well worth it when they use free power. Take care 😊❤️👍
A very interesting cookery vlog - everything looked mouthwatering. Given us other ideas for using the vegan meatballs😊Many thanks guys and a great idea for a new mini series. Love Ray and Nicola xx
Nice quick & convenient little meal for when in the camper. I cook most things from scratch at home, but find in the camper I get flustered 🤭 so jars are much easier & saves a lot of the faff. The instant pot looks useful, where do you store that? Thanks, Em 💜
Hi Em. Thanks for watching. I’m the same. Prefer to cook from scratch at home. You never seem flustered. I love seeing your meals. I think a lot of RUclips folks find it hard to film cooking, as there’s little space. I’ve been known to pile dishes and ingredients on a tray on the bed 🤣. I don’t always take the instant pot with me. It depends on where we are going and the time of year as to what gadgets I take. It gets stored under our fixed bed. You can of course also store stuff in it. ❤️😊👍
@@Wizardinthewild aww thanks that’s kind to say 😁 my main issue is my lil helper 🐶😂 he can get to the work top via the sofa easily. So it’s a tricky business keeping him away. 😂 We definitely don’t eat as well in the camper as we should, but you have to do what you can I guess 😊 Hope you’re both well? 💕
@@vansforthememories 😆know all about those lil helpers 🫢. Thankfully they are much smaller. Jazzy is the worst. She doesn’t miss an opportunity! We eat better at home. It’s much easier! Thought of you yesterday as we drove through Moffat. Gosh it’s beautiful there!!! We are fine thank you. Just a lot going on in life generally. Hope you’re both ok xx
@@Wizardinthewild ohh lovely Moffat 😎 You been on another Scottish trip then 😂😊 You’re getting as bad as us, we must stop going, but it’s too hard 😂😇 Aww we’ll I hope things settle down for you. Take care, hopefully one day our paths or tyres 🛞 will cross 😁 Em 💜
Nice one Ellie! Had an instapot bought for me recently but haven’t used it yet and unfortunately it’s a bigger one, too big for the van and our powerbank probably. Need to up my van cooking game so keep the ideas coming please 🙂x
Thanks for watching Rachael. The pots are very versatile. I have a bigger version at home which is also an air fryer. ( you change the lid ) You can also make porridge and yogurt as well as dehydrate fruit &veg. Slow cook is good too. Sorry to make you hungry 🫢. Doggos say hi 🐶🐶🐶❤️
Looks like I need another toy for the van 😂 I bought the Hytric after watching one of your videos - it’s one of the most used items in our van! Keep up the good work 👍
Hi, So pleased the Hytric is working out well for you. The baby InstantPot is very useful. It weighs more than the Hytric but it does do a lot of things. You can even pressure cook in it, make porridge, slow cook. I love taking it in Merlin in the winter as you can leave it to sort out a nice warming dinner whilst you go out for a walk. Thanks for watching 😊❤️👍
Hi Cheryl Started the meatballs on high sauté. I then reduced them to low sauté so they didn’t burn. Brought the pasta and water to the boil on high sauté. Then low sauté for the rest of the cooking time and cooking the rest of the meal. 😊❤️👍 Thanks for watching 😊❤️👍
