    Thanks for that review GT always good to know tools are worth spending money on. The video showing how to do it with the tube is very helpful and simplifies the process considerably. Thanks again

      Cheers, the general consensus is a couple of cable ties would sort the leak out, but having tried it on the ST, the hose failed at the calliper and trying to use a cable tie there would be a pain. Hope your well fella.

    Never seen one of these before , looks like a decent idea if it sealed properly. I was trying vacuum pump system today and had the same sort of issues
    where the hose sealing on the nipple would not work. Tried a hose clamp and a zip tie but ended going back to the traditional way. Cheers 4 sharing.

    My first time i have bled my brakes, as i changed my brake pads, and had to remove the hose connection from my callipers, as the HPK caliper pin would no pass the connection. I used halfords 1 way valve kit, and i felt completely confident and believe successful. I never experienced any issues, and bled both callipers and master cylinder.

    Use a clear plastic Aquarium 'one way valve'. Get some plastic tubing as well. Cost? £2 ? ('Short push' the brake pedal so its within its normal travel or it will pick up corrosion in the master cylinder bore & ruin its seals. Trust me, I know ) Use a plastic syringe to suck the old fluid out of the resivour, top it up with new fluid, bleed the brakes. Do it every 2 years.

    I've used this and your issue is down to not using the 2nd small clip over the tube on the nipple. You say it does not fit, but on all my uses of it, it does fit (use a pair of grips to hold the clip open as you slide it over the nipple), job done.

    Bought a lookalikey off ebay for 10 sods and it worked a treat. No more trying to enlist a reluctant wife or friend to pump the brake and top up the reservoir as I tightened/loosened bleed valve. I think it uses a Tesla Valve which is non mechanical and is based upon fluid dynamics so no moving parts to wear out. Glad I bought one.

    Sounds typical Halfords item, never man enough for the job. The simple tube to a bottle seems always the trusted and best way. Great honest video, hope Halfords watch this and fix the issues.

    It works if you can manage to clamp it well and make the valve go up then the exit hose go down so it doesn't drain,..

    I use these all the time they are worth the money but they are universal kitsch you need to make sure you get proper clamps and hose sizes

    The only way iv managed to get these things to work is to use a cable tie or wire around the nipple to clamp it on,never used this one tho,i use the cheap one that comes with the lil milk bottle and the one way valve is black

    They work great why you holding the break bleeder above the caliper in your hand .gravity will allow the fluid to flow into a bottle.itd like riding a bike up hill it's harder. That's why you having leaks.i.ve used these breeders about 4 quid on line and they're good

  • @serirous
    @serirous 4 года назад +2

    so it means you just need some hose clamps and that would fix the issue...... right?

    • @misterdeelin
      @misterdeelin 2 месяца назад

      Don’t even need a clamp on the ‘out’ side of the system as it’ll hold no pressure. 😂

    Use a jubilee clip much stronger than those clips that come with the kit.

  • @johnnycactus0

    wow! £12!!? they've gone up in price!! def not worth that! I picked mine up years back for under a fiver- but although it worked i tend to cable tie the tube on the nipple as i too have often had the brake fluid bukkake.......i have to usually use it in combination with standard brake bleeding method and elevating the caliper and tieing off the lever and doing some sort of sacrifice to the air bubble gods.......

    I think they are not worth the hassle, I’d rather spend my money of a vacuum bleeder.
