While I am sad to see this go, I am happy to be here for the end. I watched these in elementary school and now I am graduating high school, and throughout that time this has never failed to entertain me. Take it easy NewAgeServerAlarm, and I hope the future is bright for you!

Thank you NewAgeServerAlarm for everything you've done for this community. This series has inspired so many enthusiasts over the years, and you have had a tremendous impact on people who share the interest. You continued to pass the torch along, if you will. I've been watching this series for almost 11 years now. I remember when System Test 26 was uploaded, that being the first video of yours I ever watched. The 2010 era intro playing at the end was a serious nostalgia hit. Fun fact, if you watch any of my newer videos, my intro uses some of my original music that was heavily inspired by the 2010 intro. You were a major inspiration and role model when I was first getting into the hobby myself. While it's sad that this series of nearly 15 years is coming to a close, we all know that great things lie ahead for you and for your channel. I wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors. Take care man. :)

The reason the gas can gets so cold is because those are just refrigerant being used to blow dust. when you turn it upside down you are spraying liquid refrigerant which soaks up all the heat around it because it really really wants to turn into a gas, and it happens almost instantly.

Don't even start. Please. As he outlined in a community post, he's still somewhat involved with collecting alarms, he just doesn't feel like making videos of them anymore. God forbid Andrew open a RUclips tab... Doesn't mean he's watching fire alarm videos.
Let me just put this out there: it's a dangerous idea to constantly insinuate that anything Andrew does is some indication of him returning to making RUclips videos, and people constantly stalking his Facebook or Twitter is not helping. If he wants to share his endeavors in the security community or any other community, then let him. Don't tie him back to a community he has clearly shown he no longer wants to be a part of.
In my conversations with him, he's made it clear that while he still likes alarms, he doesn't like the direction the community has gone, and especially the way it conducts itself regarding him. He doesn't owe us anything, and we have no right to bug him about it if he doesn't want to. He probably never expected to become a celebrity like figure, and he probably didn't want to be at all. That's probably why he has tried to separate his new hobbies from his old ones, because he wants to be himself again, without little children being on his tail all the time.
And I think that's why he left. When younger and younger kids started using RUclips, Andrew's fanbase turned from a group of mature teens and adults interested in the technology and history of fire alarms to "OMG OMG SpEcTWAAAwERT GOES BeEPpPPP". Thankfully, most of those kids are sticking with Grant from SER Safety and enlisted in the Nine-Year-Old Army. But my point stands.
My point is, It's not about "setting people straight on facts" or even about kids in the hobby, though that's part of it. It's people putting collectors like Andrew or Grant on pedestals. They stop being people and start being celebrities. Objects. There are people in this very comment section who are guilty of this. Countless people still idolize Andrew and they don't want to admit it. They expect him to make more, when he's clearly shown he does not want to.
And the reason I know this is the case is because, for years, I did the same. But I've channeled those feelings into, for instance, admiration for Destin and his music Not "thesdx." Destin. For Andrew -not "NewAgeServerAlarm", Andrew - it's an appreciation of all he's done, but I've accepted the inconvenient truth that he just doesn't care about us anymore.
Destin is more than just thesdx, he's Destin LeCornu and all that surrounds him. Andrew is more than just NewAgeServerAlarm, he's Andrew Davis and all that surrounds him. Don't idolize them. Treat them like people. It's a shame that many don't realize that Andrew is just as human as the rest of us, and as much as I admire his legacy in this community, he has moved on to a new chapter in his life and we have to let him do what's best for him.
The inconvenient truth is that they have moved on. And regardless of how you feel, that's the way it is.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I think a lot of modern aerosol cans use butane as a propellant, which might be why the air duster triggers the explosive gas alarm. Used to be CFCs (refrigerant, freon) but, y’know, the ozone layer.
Anyway, I’m glad you gave the series a proper send-off. Like many I was an unusual kid who was terrified of alarms, which led to me finding alarm content on RUclips. Yours was always the best to the hobby community.

You think you’d ever add an automatic shut-off valve for gas/co events? I imagine it could be life saving if something catastrophic were to occur, but I don’t know how involved such an installation would be. Either way, very good video; I love how complex yet easy to use this system is!

    • @NewAgeServerAlarm
      @NewAgeServerAlarm  2 года назад

I actually debated adding another shutoff valve for gas leak alarms but it would be very difficult to modify the gas line, a lot harder than the water line was.
I would also need something to shut down power to the boiler as well, so that adds even more complexity!

To be honest I didn't think it would take this long for the next part to come out, since I thought you'd get the one sensor you were missing in the next week or so after part 1, install it, & then make the video, but I guess I was wrong. Still, I'd say it was arguably worth the wait.
Clever idea with the automatic valve on the water main.
Even though your current system test series has officially come to an end, I can understand why, & I'm not upset that it did. You also should refrain from saying little children because you said that about me when I am an adult… and you should also refrain from saying things like what you REFERR to newageserveralarm as to which you said, Andrew, newageserveralarm, andrew, is you telling people what to call someone when it is not a bad thing to refer someone by their username. It is also ruse that the fact you have issues with people responding in shock that a series let alone a favorite series is coming to an end. Since he made the series like he did, people used to expect that he would have made more because this is a hobby that attracted a bunch of fans… People are seen more as a celebrity once they have a lot of fans of them and especially if the user never replies back… I know Andrew is a human just like the rest of us, that is why he has interests in things such as fire alarms. And you claiming that Andrew is more than newageserveralarm just doesn’t make sense as well, Andrew is RUclips user newagerserveralarm’s real name that is how I see that as and everyone else does. You are just making yourself look like a total Karen and also not wise that you said all of that nonsense on the wrong comment I literally asked a simple yes or no question aparently you don’t know what a yes or no question even is and have to answer it with a rude lecture. I know your name is Nate for a reason it is similar to the Karen species… last but not least, go kick rocks Nate…

Thanks for everything NewAgeServerAlarm. The expertise you've gained through this channel and these tests will no doubt pay dividends going forward. 26.1 is easily my favorite. Good luck going forward!

A few last suggestions before you go:
Put a speaker in the garage
Put a freeze sensor in the garage
I am very sad to see you go, I hope you come back with a surprise, even if you don’t, thank you for playing a role in my childhood.

garage isn't heated so the freeze sensor would be false alarming all the time
