Rest In Peace
Geras
This ending was surprising. I never stopped to think that he HATED this path and wanted to finally just die and be left alone.
Geras is basically Kaido from One Piece and Kira Yoshikage from JoJo DiU wanted quiet live
the virgin Kronika vs the chad Geras
That all changed now. Least he still knows peace.
He seems more like a tragic anti-hero than a villain :(
And unlike Kronika he's not that prideful.
Anti villian I would say
More like an Anti-Hero, but I feel you.
More like a tragic Anti-*Villain.*
@@dragmaXE He’s the only character to be truly selfless. He’s an Anti-hero or you could make the argument that he was the true hero.
Very cool character, voice is so godly, hope he gets put in future games but for now Rest In Peace geras, you earned it.
He actually escapes the sea of blood thanks to a Leviathan that me and a lot of people think might be the giant dead creature we see on the sea of blood fighting stage.
I know im 2 years late but I hope gets put in future mk games too I really liked his character and would really suck if he's just some one shot game character.
If geras does come back I dont want him to just be a hinchman too Shao Kahn like reptile or Baraka, I don't want gears to side with the bad guys nor do I want him to side with the good guys I would like him to be in the grey area, maybe he has his own secret motive.
@@ramonewilson3967 maybe he’s a neutral he just fights people to see their power maybe no one knows about him I mean the time is reset
@@ramonewilson3967 I totally agree man
Honestly, Geras is just an amazing character. He follows and works for the main antagonist but then again has his own reasons and morals. He just wants peace and yet he can’t seem to achieve that. Sadly it’s canon that he’s stuck in the infinite blood seas and eventually he stops thinking but tbh, I would rather have this as the canon ending just because it gives his character more closure and kinda gives us a heartwarming ending to his character
Actually if you face him or play as him in a regular fight the convo will be “so you got out of the sea of blood?” And Geras will reply with “I was food for a passing leviathan” so boom, hopefully this helps lol
Dr. Tuxedo Character dialogue isn’t cannon
T0xᎥcality C’mon man, I’m trying to give you some clarity 😂
Dr. Tuxedo I know I’m just letting you know 🌚 poor geras couldn’t fix the timeline
It never happened now, time has been reset remember.
"Though he wished for death, he was unable to die."
Geras: "Fine, I'll do it myself"
Damn. Geras was a real one. RIP.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."
Are you tommy Angelo?
This, this right here is why guys like Shang Tsung still exist in Liu Kang's new timeline, no amount of power in existence can give someone full control over the fates of mortals
Geras states in the Keepers of Time trailer that Liu Kang purposely changed the fate of certain people to neutralize them as threats. Maybe he kept Shang Tsung alive with a shitty life as punishment?
I like this ending a lot actually. Geras is one of the few people who makes a truly selfless decision when he gets control over the timeline.
Most characters, whether sympathetic or otherwise, make fairly limited decisions that primarily affect them or those around them. Most people simply resolve their own past conflicts or avert the most tragic moments of their lives. Even Jacqui Briggs, who makes a decision that literally erases her from existence, still only reshapes the timeline around the life of one person (i.e. Jax).
Many of the newly-created timelines don't do very much to make the world a better place overall or to avert the cycle of violence that inevitably comes with repeated attempts to control the timeline. Moreover, as long as the Hourglass is under the control of one being, no matter how well-meaning they might be, there will always exist the possibility of misuse.
Geras simply ends the cycle entirely. His actions make certain that nobody will ever be able to misuse the Hourglass for their own ends again. And on a more personal note, he finally gets the rest that he always sought and was long denied by Kronika.
Fujin also does pretty selflessly, making the lives of other mortals better. But yeah this ending is pretty sweet, and wholesome by Mortal Kombat standards
@@driftteamleader3470 I hadn't seen his ending until you mentioned it but I concur wholly.
I think the thing with both Geras and Fujin is that they're both immortal beings who have the wisdom imparted by countless eons of existence. And yet they demonstrate a surprising degree of understanding and appreciation of how mortal beings think and behave.
The main flaw of Kronika is that she simply doesn't accept the idea of mortals who act outside of the boundaries she attempts to create with her timelines. Kronika's evil acts are born mostly of the fact that she attempts to impose an uncompromising order upon free will, and perfection upon mortal life, which is flawed and imperfect by nature.
However, as we see in many of the Arcade endings, even genuinely good and well-intentioned mortals often change the timeline in very limited ways without actually making the overall timeline a better place for everyone. They are, understandably, simply people who are limited by the histories and experiences of their own lives and those of the people around them.
Geras and Fujin basically find a way to correct the limitations of both approaches: mostly because they actually respect and uphold the ability of mortals to make their own decisions. But they also genuinely work to make the realms a better, more stable place rather than make decisions that only affect them and the people they know.
Geras in particular basically makes a timeline where there *will be* no further conflict over attempts to control and rewrite the timeline because the Hourglass does not need anyone to maintain it.
@@HellqueenRoz Geras didn’t have an understanding he also sought a perfect timeline but he understood in his non canon ending
What do you think of erron black ending??
Erron dispose of the hourglass and Kotal prohibited everyone to use his power
This ending changed my view of Geras.
His ending was actually quite sad if u ask me
Jacqui Briggs had an even sadder ending
I feel bad for him
I could listen to this godly voice for hours
Same, also my nickname is lone wolf too
Geras feels more like a force of nature than a villian
Straight up facts
I have a theory that geras is embodiment of present. He has time powers, but only in present ( like he can't rewind time itself, i think only an objects, including himself). He's a fixed point in time, that is very similar to present. It is in one copy, there is no past or future version, only present
His ending is one of the Best he finally just let the people the worlds manage themselves and allowed the hourglass to operate solely itself meaning no misuse from anyone else and no twisting from a time God plus he gets to rest and ends the cycle it’s perfect.
Damn geras, you just wanted to sleep . Rest in peace buddy we gonna miss you
This should be the canon ending. Seems the most passive and allows for every character to return, except Geras but I won't miss him.
Definetly! The open ending of the game came out of nowhere, they didn't even show us what the time line created by liu kang looks like
I will miss him
Yeah I'd miss him too. Geras is awesome
geras and erron have the best endings
and without Kronika, Mk11 would go normal but without Kronika being there.
WTF Geras is actually the good guy?
He's Kronika's attack dog. Take her out of the picture, and he's not that bad.
@@Bacxaber ye
Poor guy he was doing he’s job
I may consider adding Geras in my fanfic
@@TheLatiosnlatias02 ew
I hope Geras returns in the next MK game or in some future game giving him a canon ending like this or similar.
MK 1?
Granted!
Congratulations 👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉
Well...your wish has been granted.
I really hope Netherrealm makes this particular ending canon at some point; so many story possibilities while being a very noble sacrifice
I knew geras wasnt evil nor good
He was just a construct, following his orders like terminator but gain their freedom if they went against their creator.
@@Neal_21 kinda like the silver surfer galactus
Surprised they replace this voice actor for a new one for MK1, they sound exactly alike tbh
Seeing this guys showed that being immortal isnt actually that good of a deal i truly feel bad for him
This ending makes me happy for Geras ❤
I do not blame Geras at all.
I really like how when he says "rest in peace" hes talking about 2 things, peace and death
Geras reminds me of Zasalamel from Soul Calibur.
That's exactly who I was thinking of too
I feel bad for geras I wish his story mode let him get an ending like this. Maybe mk12 he might get it.
I first thought gearus ending was gonna be him wanting all kronika’s power for himself but then when I saw this my respect for the guy: 📈📈📈📈📈
“And for the first time in all eternity, I can Rest In Peace”
I like to think that Liu Kang made that timeline
i never saw geras as a bad person i only see him as broken character who obey he's master with loyalty no wonder why liu kang made him he's friend....wise choice (i hope i don't regret saying this when mk1 comes out 😂😂)
It came out and yeah Geras is a bro
@@smugofbishamonten1447 thank god i knew my boy was innocent 😂😂
I really hope that he got What he wanted in the new era he deserves it
Rest in peace geras you did good
Glad that mk1 made him less depressed
0:26. I guess whenever Outworld gets a new Kahn, the physical throne gets an overhaul.
This was a very poetic "Fuck this shit I'm out!"
Good Guy Geras
Good Guy Gersch?
00:50 Thanos snapped his fingers and killed Geras
Geras can finally rest, and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe
Well this is semi cannon
When Kronika rewound timeline, the anchor Geras was attached to bubbled up from Sea of Blood, so he escaped his gruesome fate (he's probably immune to time manipulation, like Raiden and Fire God Liu Kang).
When i played my first impression of Geras was that he was a chump, but this ending made me like him more.
He is a lot like Zasalamel from Soul Calibur.
Geras in game: just a Kronika's dog that do a ditry job.
Geras in his own ending: tradic character who just want peace and get's pissed of from Kronika. And he have that Kronika didn't - wisdom.
Unironically the best ending.
Kronika is an evil being blinded by ego and madness but her followers are such selfless and righteous people manipulated by Kronika. Geras and Cetrion have really good endings and would be great independent characters without Kronika.
My fanfic has Cetrion set out to do just that.
I wish this was the cannon ending, how he lets the hourglass do its thing without anyone controlling it
Well this age well.
Now you can be happy knowing that this is cannon thanks to MK1
man....This guy just wanted to die in peace, but gets refused and revived...
This is why Geras is one of my favorite characters, He just wants everyone to be at peace and he’s willing to even sacrifice his life to give everyone a peaceful life and even himself.
Looking back on this now makes me happy geras was brought back
Geras basically said to burry him in the ocean with his ancestors who know death was better than bondage.
pulls spear out of chest
So Geras does the ethical thing a god can do: grants mortals freedom from himself.
You should never leave creation to itself with no consiquenses or you'd have desasters
0:24 0:28 0:32 0:36 0:44 0:52 0:57 1:01
Looks like like some other characters, Geras actually does something good for the timeline.
Oh my... GOD!!! UURGHH!!! THE COMMAND, THE ABSOLUTE COMMAND AND POWER IN THAT VOICE!!! DAVE B MITCHELL IS SO UNDER RATED!!!
this entire time Geras just wanted to die :(
He just wanted some sleep!.
I actually like him more now
Geras seems to give me some uatu the watcher vibes ngl.
Honorable ending
Geras is a unit. RIP.
My mans Geras just wanted some nap time.
Kronika feet is beautiful when she knocked out
What the fuck
She is dead not unconscious
Hes a bad guy,but that doesnt mean hes a bad guy
And now he server Liu Kang...
Come on, let the boi have some rest.
At least Liu Kang treats Geras more like an equal and a friend than a lesser slave/servant like Kronika did.
Sounds like a win-win; he gets to rest at last and people are free from Kronika's selfish plans.
Rest up, Buddy!
In all the interactions with Geras. All he ever wants is to Be dead or die in peace.
He just wanted peace

Every characters wondering what is geras
But no one cared about how was geras..😭
Can we call this a gud ending?
I’m my opinion I’m always confused about Spawn Shang Tsung and geras endings are all those 3 endings good or bad?
christ he would have been a better timekeeper than kronika! least he left us to it 😂
Rest in peace geras
The Deebo(Tiny Lister) of MK11
It’s beautiful
When you realise that beerus was the good guy
Geras is basically the mix of thanos and beerus
Don’t you mean Geras? Or are you just simply making a joke/reference of that lazy cat god?
@@dragmaXE it was a joke
Figured as much anyway thank you.
My man just wanted to rest
Sounds like Pucci's plane for Made in heaven
I wonder if there's something under the skirt of kronika🤔
Um why?
Yea, LED lights
You mean rest in pieces?
Major thanos energy from this character
holy shit...
M'ehh ending but thx for posting
Kinda sounds like a better option for the end of the game...but that's just me talking.
Kronika is stressed
So Geras became a good guy?
yeah but I still don't know who geras is or where he came from.
he's like that one off character who dies in 1 game then getting erased in the next
Geras was a warrior created by Kronika. A construct who is eternal and can't die. This ending show that while Geras isn't good or evil, he still had his own opinions and morals
@@WarriorPrimeMinister let me guess. I need to read a comic book to know why all of the characters are instantly familiar with him.
@@HiroIndo16 I don't think so.
Poor Geras
Poor guy
Cant beat fujinns ending tho
I don't like sand
It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here, everything is soft and smooth.
@@TheLatiosnlatias02 creepily, softly stroaks back
Why is geras hot? No homo
His face model for the character is the perfect specimen
@DJB B he looks like the old spice guy except on high
@DJB B wwf undertaker?
John Slade You referring to Terry Crews?
First lol. 😅🤔
Lol!! You're really just waiting till.midnight aren't ya?
