AJ was my wing man when I first came to Pattaya. He showed me around . We went from bar to bar. He made me feel welcome and I visited Pattaya 2 more times because of him. He is a great guy. I advise anyone who visits Pattays to look him up. I wish him the best.
The age group they are looking for surprises me. I would think someone in their 30's would be a little young for the job of manager. Most of the patrons I see in these type of places look to be in the 45 to 60 age group. Nightwish is very successful at what they do so I'm sure they know better than I.
Never considered Bar Manager as a profession. Always just assumed (or knew) that they are alcoholics who are stuck in SEA for some reason or another. I guess the times are changing also in Pattaya.
Might have to look into this when I go out to Thailand. After 20 years of running nightclubs in Los Angeles/Hollywood it might be a nice change of pace. Cant tell you how many people I ran into that thought it was all fun and games but didnt see the hard work we put in on the daily. Its definitely a rare breed.

I bartended 21 years over 10 in fine dining and was bar mgr for Nobu for over 6 in Dallas tx ._ great times ._I'm going to Pattaya this year hopefully . Can't wait to experience Thailand .

I know exactly what you mean, I used to work show bar and the ajoining bar people, complained as we got lots of tips, so we switched for 2 hours (me and my counterpart, we used to work it as a team) we took more tips in their side in the 2 hours than we normally took in our own all night, where as they took zero, you need to read the customer as they walk in (who wants yes sir who likes a joke) (talking show bars) remember which customer is next in line when your bar is 6 deep, remembering every ones drinks and names is another all those things add up to tips
Think everyone who has been a Pattaya regular at some point has thought about buying a bar. Those that have made a success out of it, well done. Living the dream 😀😀😀.

Just listening to the ideal requirements I can see why so many bars in Pattaya / Jomtien fail miserably on the getting people through the door and keeping them there aspect of the business, and thus the large turnover in owners. Always wondered why 3 or 4 bars in close proximity will have one that's full and the others are empty or close to. It has to be the management and the relationship the management team builds with their customers. Good VLOG.

Every 4 Thais a foreigner employs gives you 1 visa. Nightwish employ around 1000 people.

Reckon I could do it but I'm just not enough of a gambler to risk the move.
60 hours per week seems excessive. Is this the only company that would hire non-Thai's to manage a bar?
