  • Founded in 1847 on the hard work and courage of immigrants from the Netherlands, Pella, Iowa was special from the start...and that's the thing...because it still is. One of the most incredibly well-preserved small towns in America, some would say that Pella is the very best small town in America. History, character, charm, personality, fun, flavor, quality, cleanliness...it's all here in major league amounts. Come with me, the History Mystery Man, and I'll take you on another small town adventure...this one in spectacular Pella, Iowas. Another MUST-SEE! #HistoryMysteryMan #PellaIowa #SmallTownAmerica

No one would tear down a Union statue because it doesn't represent racism. But Kim who you say is a wonderful gal made a mildly racist ad which would have caused the town founder to cry.

@@CathyHaustein That was the point of the video...that Shawn is working hard to preserve historic structures. What are you doing to preserve the history in Pella?

@@HistoryMysteryMan I'm on the Planning and Zoning Commission and support the Pella Historic Trust. But sometimes, the zoning isn't enough to preserve old structures which is sad.
