All About Aoud - With Roja Dove

- Hello everyone,
It is hardly news to many of you who follow my work, that I am fairly well known for my work with the ancient ingredient that is Aoud.
I wanted to dedicate a video especially to the magic of this precious material, and to explore it in full detail, so that you can have an insight into my history with it, and my creative process working with it.
I couldn't think of anything more appropriate that filming it in the staggeringly beautiful Arab Hall in Leighton House Museum in London.

Having smelled some Rojas and owned two, I am now seriously considering getting rid of my whole collection and start collecting only Rojas! They smell divine.
Exactly my thinking yesterday before I watched this video. Puredistance M which is made by Roja might be the best scent I ever smelled.

Roja speaks with so much passion about his job and business. He really goes into some detail showing his immense knowledge and experience with a great voice and is so articulate.
I can’t wait to smell some of your creations. I’m waiting on my orders to arrive tomorrow. They’re completely blind buys, you’ve persuasive explanations and passion for what you do convinced me to buy them. I’ve watched all your videos and you should continue to make them. I much appreciate your voice, your style, your class, your passion and the history behind each creation, one can sense just by listening to you.

Oud is an Arabic word for 'wood'. It's refers also to the masculine scent that's in 'bokhour' and it has some history behind it. Dried Agarwood and Aloswood were a common valued trade in ancient arabia and was prized by arabs and jews as it was associated with piety and holy sites.

This man is light years ahead of any other perfumer I've ever sniffed. He's a genius. A master perfumer. Perfume is a hobby of mine. A passion if you will,and it's an honor to have owned several of his masterpieces. Just wish I was rich. One day Chypre extraordinaire will be mine 🤣 if you haven't smelled it you need too asap.

I am extremely fascinated and excited how Roja Dove works in his laboratories and how he exactly constructs a perfume formulation like these glorious ones. This is a thing, that is never explained to the society, because how secret it is. Very nice video.

Living in a warm and humid weather of Puerto Rico, I imagine that dealing with the scent of oud should be very cafeful with the trigger.

My all time favorite house. My wife and I own many of Roja's beautiful creations. As a frequent visitor to Dubai Roja's UAE is a personnel favorite of mine. It captures the UAE perfectly. Oud's are such a beautiful mainstay of the Muslim world and to be shared by those who truly appreciate their beauty.
