I just opened my business and I really needed to hear this. I know a lot of people struggle with imposter syndrome and it hit me really hard this week and my poor husband just hugged me while I cried about not having any sales my 1st week open.

I might be late, but I'm an 11 year old boy who crochets and ur tips and tricks really help me so really soon I will be opening a crochet business when I get every thing situated 😊
this is exactly what i needed. i am 13 and i crochet and i wanted to start an easy shop, ihave had my easy shop open for almost 2 years now and i only got 2 sales. this really got me un motivated and i stopped listing things and i just stopped trying. I've been trying to grow my youtube channel and i haven't been getting that many news on my shorts. but recently have just really wanted crochet to be my full time job in the future so this really helped to try different things to see what my audience likes. thx so much Jenna for the tip ur awesome
Omg I am so happy I found this video....I have been crocheting for about 2 years and i have wanted to start my own business but scared no one would want to purchase my products. To be transparent I don't make my own patterns, I purchase them off of etsy :). I absolutely love crocheting and usually give my finished products away...just to get my name out there. Thank you soooooooo much for this!!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I started to crochet a year ago (after a short illness) and I have fallen in love with it. I crochet every day and my mind is constantly thinking of new projects, designs and ideas. People keep telling me to start my own business and although it’s all I can think of I haven’t had the confidence to… After watching this, I’m taking a deep breath and plunging in. Thank you ❤️🫶🙏
I’m 16. I am looking to start a career early so I can save up to move out sooner and get my own place. This is what I am looking for and I LOVE crocheting little animals. Hopefully this goes well!
1st time watcher! Thank you for all the info! What a lot of people don't seem to talk about is when you go from hobbyist to seller, when do you start saving receipts for tax purposes. How do differentiate the difference between items you would say are for business and yourself? Startup money, and how to know when you are starting to make a profit?
Thank you Genna! I love your energy. I learned to crochet in high school. The reason it took so long was I am left handed and my relatives were right handed. It wasn’t until I was taking a class that the instructor had copied the instructions on clear media and turned it over for us lefties. I was off to the races. Making granny squares and afghans as I could not make clothes. Recently I have been making market/project bags. So many states are discontinuing plastic bags that I believe there is a market for them. Your information is very helpful. Thank you.
I’ve always wanted to open a crochet shop but never started, and I’m thinking about trying to gain a following and start one soon. Ur vids are so helpful ❤
Thank you so much Jenna. My old corporate job got acquired and did massive layoffs so starting my first small business is all I got atm. Your videos give me confidence to give it a shot 😊
You are like the realest person I’ve seen🥹🥹🥹 I love your positivity thank you for spreading it with your videos. I picked up crocheting and came across your videos and I’ve just been more motivated since then and now I’m so in love with crocheting. Keep putting out that amazing vibe of yours… seriously love it❤
Thank you so much Genna . I am starting my own business soon and i have learned alot from you . I really appreciate what you do in your videos . I do have some questions how do you physically store your small and big plushies ? I am thinking about doing a whole room for my storage so i can organize all of my plushies .
I really really love the message towards the end. How you emphasize individual journey and that failure is actually just another opportunity! Thanks for saying that
i love this video!! i started crochet last summer and have been selling her and there. i’ve always wanted to start an etsy, but have been scared bc i’m in college. This video really motivated me! 🤩
Thank you so much for this video. Comparing myself to other corcheters freeze me. I make hair accesories for children (my two pasions convined, children and crochet). I've been trying it for like a year but no results are showed and started to lose confidence. As a single mom in a foreign country I wanted to find a way out of the factory life to have more time with my son. It's been 5 really tough months. ❤

Hi Genna! I love your video! I would love to see another market video! I know that you said earlier that there were more markets where you moved to. I am an in-person seller that wants to start selling on Etsy this summer! I'm so excited to be a Patron!
Hey Genna! Love the new setup! It's so cozy and colorful! Also do you have any tips for how to get rid of shadows in photos. Whenever I take pics of my products, I can't seem to get the shadow of my mom's phone to go away.
Genna thank you so much for your willingness to help others! I just started crocheting amigurumi a few months ago & I am hooked. Your videos were the first ones I watched & I just love your enthusiasm & generosity! Thank You!
Thank you so much for this video, I will share this with my niece who just started an Etsy shop (not crochet related), but I think this will help her. So much great information.

I’m quite recent here, and I love your videos and how you share your knowledge and experience. I live in Portugal, and adapting your tips to the Portuguese reality, though I’m betting on the international market. I’m struggling with two things: 1. I love crocheting so many different things that I haven’t figured out what would be the products to sell 🫤 2. My notes, patterns and ideas are all over the place and need to organize everything. Do you have tips for this? I’m new with iPad and my only source of digital work (besides my phone). Keep up with these great videos! Crochet forever ❤
Thanks so much ! I think you are awesome, and I'm sure a lot of people agree with me. For being so young, you definitely got it together. I'm loving all the great advice. Also, your plushies are adorable, and so are you. 😊
Thank you so much this is really helpful! I haven't had much experience with crochet so far and starting an Etsy shop feels really daunting. Can I give it a test run by selling on somewhere like Vinted instead?
My passion level is still at hobby level. I'll look more into this when I can crochet the same thing and not get bored 🤣. But, I will try to sell some of mine @ craft fair and such....
This video is really helpful and motivating for me. I have been doing crochet since 8 years now but always felt that I am underprepared. Can you share some tips which mail service should we opt for domestic and international orders. As I'm new in the USA I don't know how shipping services works here
Hi Genna👋 This is so helpful thank you. Please don’t be offended if I ask one question. Is it possible for me to slow down your video here so that I can take onboard all your excellent advice?😬 It’s probably me but I struggle a bit to process everything and keep up with you😂. Love your channel, best wishes from across the pond in the U.K. 💜🇬🇧
You can change the playback speed in settings. On a phone it's in the top right corner when you tap on the video. But I'm not sure if you can do it on a TV
Do you think the market for plushies will get saturated? I’ve been making resin tumblers for a few years but the market is blown up with sublimation. I’m learning to crochet but I’m so worried that market will get saturated too! Actually considering offering tumblers and mini plushies as a set.
I love your videos so much! 💙💜💙 And it looks almost like you have double much yarn than before 😅 Is it just the shelfs or have you bought more? 💙💜 And thanks for the tips for the business! 💜💜

Thank you! I was finally able to get to just over 500 followers on IG, but am still setting under 100 followers on RUclips... Any suggestions for me?
