    as a customer i greatly agree with your sales tip! sales really motivate me to buy the things lol… just a few months ago i bought about 10 different crochet patterns from someone because they had a sale , i was looking for a specific pattern and found it on their shop but because of the sale i bought way more than i would have lol

    THANK YOU Genna! I’ve been debating with myself about starting an Esty shop. As a 6th generation crafter I am always trying new crafts and bettering crafts I have done for years. I’ve been crocheting for over 40 years. I’m very comfortable using thread as well as many different types of yarn. Your channel has inspired me to learn Amigurumi. I donate many items to my local senior center as prices for bingo. Yet I have almost reached retirement age and would love to supplement my fixed income. Since I love doing my crafts I thought beginning a shop now would benefit me in the future. Predicting how a variegated yarn ‘pattern’ is so unpredictable that I prefer to sell finished products. I’ll keep your comments in mind as I begin this process. Thank you again for showing me the ropes as much of it is planning ahead…business name, logo and what to offer! You rock!

    Excellent tips. I have always wanted to have a little online shop. Why not make a little coin from my hobby! Heck, i'm always making things for friends and family so i might as well 🙂 It's definitely something I've thought about over the years but have always felt like i didn't really have a neich. I'm a firm believer in the Universe providing a way if it's meant to be. Your content is always fun and informative to watch. Maybe someday i'll take the leap 🙂 i'm just looking for that special item to crochet that really brings me joy because if it brings me joy than others will feel that. I've always loved to crochet flowers and even made my friends bridal bouquets. That would probably be what i make, if i did it.

    Nice video! Only thing is I have trouble with the free shipping. Maybe it’s just where I am but shipping tends to be so expensive that if i gave it for free without a price increase, I’d only break even. But if I increase the price it’s too high to be appealing to most people. Definitely a hard thing to figure out.

    • @crochetbygenna
      @crochetbygenna  Год назад +1

      Thank you!! Yess, free shipping is a bit hard esp when it tends to be expensive. I never offered free international shipping, just domestic, but yeah definitely increase your prices a bit to try and make up for the free shipping! Even if it tends to make your prices a bit higher, I feel like a majority of people will still be very attracted to free shipping

      @@crochetbygenna how expensive do those usually work out and can you see how much it will be to ship before you sell something?

    I worry about free shipping……is that to US only or worldwide? I have mailed a 6 Oz package to Canada and it cost me $35.

      omg yeah shipping internationally is crazy expensive! I only did domestic free shipping :) you can adjust your prices a bit to make up for it!

    I started an Etsy but we are only selling T-shirt’s made by 3rd sellers right now. Can I make crochet and sell it on the same shop?

    • @crochetbygenna
      @crochetbygenna  Год назад +1

      I think that’d be fine!! I was thinking of listing some other non crochet items on my shop actually!

      I’m going to do a future video which will break down etsy fees, shipping fees, supply costs, etc! It honestly fluctuates every month!

    i just want to say- if you're profiting and your livelyhood is not dependent on huge profits, i think it's fine if you're selling projects for less. after all, you get paid for your hobby, you don't _need_ the money, and this way more people can afford your adorable plushies

    Kept coming on and leaving etsy because i am not getting sales, i opened my etsy shop back in 2019 when i started crocheting but didnt add anything...i was in university that time, i tried adding physical crochet items but didnt get sales, i left again...i tried in 2022 again with crochet patterns but no sales...i left again...currently my shop is suspended due to some unpaid fees, and what is discouraging me is that i only have paypal as payment option, but i still cant receive payments via paypal from my country due to finance laws according to what paypal team told me...then maybe will try again first with patterns but receiving payments outside etsy, if it will work...any idea😢😢😢😢

    How do you use etsy ads

    • @crochetbygenna
      @crochetbygenna  Год назад

      Basically you set a budget per day to spend on ads. You’re only charged when someone clicks on your listing. You can learn more directly on etsy ❤️

    My etsy stunk so I abandon it.
    tis why I still believe people don't buy from mental type of disabled people. People with the type of disability I am reffering to wont now how to upkeep a website or even form a description.
