Man, nice catch. You've been seeing a lot of these special painted units out there. Someday I hope to catch this one barreling past NW Position lights on the H-Line somewhere in Virginia.
I may not care for how the N&W was careless about preserving the history of it's predecessors, but I do love the N&W as a whole and I love this Heritage unit.
Looks to be about a 5 hour drive for me. So it would have to be an overnight or two. Do you happen to know the subdivisions that run through there? And is there enough rail traffic to make it worth the drive? Thanks very much for the suggestions and the help. Bill
that's a nice quality video. I like that location better than setting up where the train just comes by in a line...as for location, one that I've not seen which is very active would be US 421 in IN a couple miles N of Wanatah. The two major E/W routes east of Chicago run through there within a mile.
